ABC story: Wrong Car
Awoken by his alarm clock, 12-year-old Jimmy Clark got up on Friday morning and began his day with breakfast.
“Bye mom,” Jimmy shouted “the bus is here so I’ve got to go!”
“Check your phone after school today because I will text you when I get there to pick you up!” Jimmy’s mother Theresa replied. During most of the school year, Jimmy takes the bus to school and back home from school but his mother was not working today, so she was available to pick him up at 3:30. Emerging from the kitchen into the doorway, Theresa waved to her son as he boarded the school bus.
For the duration of the morning, Jimmy kept his head down and did not talk to many people. Getting excited go home to play with his brand new video games, Jimmy became impatient and started acting out by complaining about everything and being extremely stubborn. Opening the door of the school and exiting, an odd looking man approached Jimmy. "Please, come with me Jimmy" the man said. Quite worried, Jimmy began to walk at a faster pace to get away.
"Really, your mom told me to come get you because she got tied up with some work!" the man continued.
“Sure, okay,” Jimmy responded shyly as he entered into the grey van.
Two minutes later, Theresa arrived at the school and when witnesses said they saw Jimmy enter a van, Theresa called 911. Under 4 minutes after the call, police cars came rushing in and the officers and detectives began questioning and investigating.
Various officers kept Jimmy’s mother updated and were trying to calm her. “Where is Jimmy?!” she exclaimed.
X-tremely loud sirens from a police car pulled up right next to Theresa and out came Jimmy. Yelling, Jimmy’s mother embraced Jimmy “What would I have done without you?!” Zooming towards his mother, Jimmy began to cry and replied “I’m so sorry
