Sent sailing in the air and over the ditch. The wheels are out of control. I effortlessly hit five mailboxes, a sign, while being tossed back and forth through several trees like a ball in a pinball machine. Branches whacking me in the face through my broken windows, until finally I came to this life alternating moment, was this it? Then, right before my car hit headfirst into its last tree and finally it came to a stop. I took a deep breathe. Then, I looked around and realized that I was alive. I opened my door and took a staggered few steps outside the car. I yelled for help because I couldn’t seem to find all the pieces of my phone. Everything is my car was tossed around and broken. My car looked like it had been hammered all around. There …show more content…
It’s the realization that I could have died today and I did not. Many people get killed in car accidents, after my accident, I learned how significant it was to pay more consideration to the vehicle I had on the road and its maintenance. Now I am more conscious of my car’s necessities. Here are some things I pay more attention to now that I have had this accident. The mistakes we tend to make as young adult drivers. This is some things to take into account from my mistakes during my accident and to use them to make anyone more prepared for the future so that maybe they can prevent any future accidents. Make sure tires are good, always keep eyes focus on the surroundings, keep in mind the safety rating of your vehicle you are driving, follow techniques when facing a suddenly change in control of your vehicle, and always maintain a safe …show more content…
One, I speed up on a curvy road when I knew that it had rain recently. Two turn my attention to adjusting the rear view mirror so that the lights weren’t shining in my eyes. By this time I was not observing the road, and then hit a curve too fast, even though I was not going above the speed limit. Normally, I’d slow my car down while driving around a curve. Maybe, it could’ve prohibited the accident. Lastly, something that I should also keep in mind when having a car is how safe my car is. There are several crash scores available on different models and brands of car’s so being informed about how my car rates for different things is really helpful. I was lucky that my car had a good crash score rating, which is probably why I came out with only a few bruises. I actually have a Honda now, because of how well it withstood that crash. I felt that the score was pretty accurate. I will continue to buy Honda’s probably in the future for that reason as
Car Accident! The world would be more beautiful if their less or few car accidents. Now a days car accidents happens daily and sometimes they leave a big scratch in the heart if it end up by a death or a serious injury. Also, many thinks they are smart enough that they wont get into a accident because of their tricks in driving but in the end they find them self in a accident.
The weight of the car pressed down on the bottom half of my body with massive force. It did not hurt simply because adrenaline pumped through me. All I could feel was the weight of the car’s hood pushing my body farther and farther into the ground. My lungs felt clamped shut and air would neither enter nor escape them. My mind was buzzing. What had just happened? In the distance, on that demonic road, I saw cars driving by completely unaware of what happened and how I felt. I tried to yell but my voice was unheard. All I could do was wait. Wait for someone to help me or wait to die.
There are many social problems that exist in the world today, which includes but do not limits to self-identity and racism. However, they somehow go unnoticed because at times people conform to what society thinks is the way to live. In my opinion, people believe they should act or feel a certain way because of what is broadcast on television, featured in magazines, and even brought into the limelight by celebrities. After viewing the movie Crash, in my opinion, the movie targets on going social problems that are constantly being swept under the rug to this present day. I deem Crash a race movie because it forces the audience to question their own moral values.
The first thing to do when buying a used vehicle is research. As stated before, buying a car is a large investment, so you should figure out what you’re looking for to avoid a bad purchase. Ask yourself one simple question “Should I buy my car from a dealer or an owner?” Both of them have their benefits and flaws. For example a dealer will have all the information you need about the car but will have a fixed price, which will be expensive even after negotiating. An owner on the other hand will have a cheaper and more negotiable price. The downside will be that the information will require work and cost money. Now you’re ready to decide the make, body type, and colour of the car you want, as well as the budget. The make includes the different companies that make cars such as Honda. The body type can vary for person to person and can be influenced by the reason you want/need a car. A parent, for example, would be interested in a lot of room and a lot of safety features for their families. That in mind, they might look for a Honda Pilot or a Dodge Caravan. After figuring out the type of vehicle you want, you must set a budget...
One of the very first things a buyer should consider when looking for a car is what kind of car he/she wants. Many different factors can affect the car buying process. For one, the buyer must consider how big of a vehicle he/she wants and safety features like airbags, seatbelts, and working brakes. Itemizing a list of accessories can also help narrow down what kind of car to buy. While some people might prefer a Sedan with a large back seat and seat warmers, others may prefer an extreme luxury car with full stereo systems and miniature televisions. Every person has different tastes in accessories; luckily, there is a vehicle that can fit almost every personality. Most new models have the latest technology installed, although some of the “newer” used cars have the option of adding in those accessories. Once the...
With music blasting, voices singing and talking, it was another typical ride to school with my sister. Because of our belated departure, I went fast, too fast. We started down the first road to our destination. This road is about three miles long and filled with little hills. As we broke the top of one of the small, blind hills in the middle of the right lane was a dead deer. Without any thought, purely by instinct I pulled the wheel of the car to the left and back over to the right. No big deal but I was going fast. The car swerved back to the left, to the right, to the left. Each time I could feel the car scratching the earth with its side. My body jolted with the sporadic movements of the car. The car swerved to the right for the last time. With my eyes sealed tight, I could feel my body float off the seat of the car.
One sunny, warm summer day, I was sitting on the couch watching tv. I was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a red and white button up shirt. I had my black motorola flip phone and my black motorola 2 way radio sitting on my lap. I was listening to the fire department go on calls using my 2 way radio. There was one call that said there was a car wreck a block away from my house so my dad
I was determined to drive as flawlessly as possible. I sat uprightly, ensuring that my posture was aligned. My thoughts were racing with all the tips and tricks I had studied over the past couple of weeks as I drove. “Make sure to look in your rearview before you accelerate. Keep your eyes on the road. Constantly scan, don’t just stare at the rear lights of the cars in front of you. Brake softly. The driving instructors don’t like it when you brake too hard. Don’t hit the curb. That’s a sure way to fail the test. Keep your eyes on the road. Look out for any signs--”
"Hello! This is Cornwall ER. How may I help you?" The nurse answered the phone call. Like every Friday, I was volunteering in the INOVA Emergency room. It was a very busy day in the ER, where all the room including the triages were full. The rescue squads were coming with one patient after another, and the doctor, PA and nurses were very busy. I looked at the nurse’s face, and she seemed very concerned. That was because it was a trauma case, and the patient was going in a cardiac arrest. The nurses started preparing the trauma room and I assisted them in the process. That was my first time observing a trauma case after I started volunteering in the ER. I was very anxious. After about 10 minutes, the ambulance arrived. Four rescue squad rushed in with the patient. They were using a defibrillator, and the patient was oozing out blood. One member of the squad was covered in blood, and everyone’s face was extremely tensed. The doctor and the nurses rushed in and started assisting the paramedics. I was praying for the trauma patient as I was delivering a blanket to a patient
The pick-up bounced jarringly down the old dirt road. The driver sat up straight in the front seat, checking over her shoulder every few seconds to make sure that her cargo hadn't fallen out.
I always hear those old sayings. In the course of one day I can hear them about everything from retraining old dogs to getting up early. I think they make sense and I even ponder on some of them, but I never really thought one might mean as much to me, or become as realistic as it has become in my life. The clichés about telling those you love, how you feel, before it is too late and the ones about living every day like it is your last have an all new meaning to me.
...oing around a curve. It is important to decrease your speed while going around a curve because you need friction to go around them. If there isn't a lot of friction on the road, and you decided to take a tight turn at high speeds then most likely you would end up flipping your car over or getting into an accident that could have been avoided. Also, if there is bad weather and you are going to fast around a curve most likely you will wind up either spinning out or skidding either causing an accident once again or damage to your car. Thus, it is important to lessen your speed while you are going around a curve.
“The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers” -Dave Barry, comedian. The number of accidents over the last ten years have drastically increased, drivers are paying less attention to the road itself. Many individuals behind the wheel of a car believe that their driving does not affect the road conditions, however it always will. The driving habits of today are catastrophic due to the reasoning that the driving will affect other lives through reckless or distracted driving, and disobeying traffic laws.
When I looked in the rearview mirror is when I knew it was all over. June 25, 2013 was the most tragic day in my life. It was not until that day that I realized how much I appreciate my life and my family. I was on the freeway headed towards the Galleria in Houston, TX, passing the tall Texaco building on this bright sunny afternoon, when everything went downhill. I remember seeing all of the cars in front of me have their bright red tail lights on because everyone was coming to a stop. As soon as I slowed down, I looked into my rearview mirror to see a beige car not slowing down at all but instead looking down at his phone texting, it was already too late for me to do anything. I felt as if my life were over and there was nothing anyone could do, I was sixteen years old when I had my first car accident. I learned that I should have stayed home the afternoon I got into my first car accident. That afternoon I remember gripping my steering wheel so tightly because I was so nervous about the car behind me that I could feel all of the ridges and grooves throughout my entire steering wheel and every indention in my steering
Last year I got involved in a massive car accident. It was the most terrified part of life. It was the moment. I will never forget in my whole life. Before, I never realized how people really feel when a car accident happens. But,after this car accident I know what really it felt like. It was the moment. My mind was totally feared of driving. I was crushed by the hot metal and cold dirt of car. I was not feeling my arm,my body was numbed. It was felt like my lower body pressed down with monster force. All I could feel was the noise of car accident ringing in my ear.I was barely able to move my body. I was kept thinking. What my parents going to think about this? Where is my friend John? I looked through the window and saw the cars passing by
