Rollercoaster of Emotions After hours of sitting in the charter bus, the skyline of Cedar Point appeared on the horizon. Shouts of “Look!” “WOW!” and “That's AWESOME!” Echoed around the bus. I am looking out my window too and see roller coasters weaving in and out of each other. I recognise a few, like the Millennium Force and Gatekeeper. It looks like multicolored spaghetti. Seems like waking up at 4:30 is going to be worth it! I thought to myself. It sure looks fun! We all hear the rules and stuff as we pull into the parking lot. I overhear my sister Emily talking to her friend about some very tall coaster she was going to ride. Like a stampede, everyone piles out of the bus. I am with them, I want to have as much time as possible at my favorite place. I have been here before, but I haven't been on all of the coasters yet. I even have my Cedar Point shirt on! A few hours of rides and fun later, we made our way to the back of the park. And then we saw it. A roller coaster towering over the others. Straight …show more content…
A car streaked past on the track, and started its ascent up, then plummeting back down after slowly rolling over the crest. I'm NOT scared! I reminded myself. “This is going to be fun!” Emily, my sister exclaimed. I wasn't so sure, but I agreed anyway. As we shuffled along on line, I saw another sign reading ‘120 miles an hour!’ We were nearing the station and I started breathing a little faster. ‘15000 horsepower!’ Great. “Maybe this isn't such a good idea?” I suggested. But Emily seemed not to hear me. What am I going to do! But I had no time to think because I was being strapped into the car. As soon as everyone was secure, It slowly moved forward. “Please keep your head back, and your arms in the car. Enjoy your ride on the Top Thrill .” The announcer's voice

"Hey boy where are you going?" the driver shouted at Bill while he stretched his arms across the opening to prevent myself from stepping down. I stood waiting. "Where do you think your going?" he asked, his heavy cheeks quivering with each word. "I'd like to go to the rest room." I smiled and moved to step down. He tightened his grip on the

It had finally gotten dark enough that all of the dazzling park lights had turned on. I heard screams of people in the distance as we walked across the park toward ‘Roar’, the wooden roller
In 2012, the new CEO of Cedar Fair Entertainment announced a new Long Term Growth Strategic plan for the company. The plan is known as the FUNforward and financial goals for the Company. The CEO is headed in this direction because of the significant barriers to entry and a loyal high-repeated customer base as well as the significant momentum that they have created for the Company over the past two record-setting years (Rotting Flesh Radio RSS, 2012). For example, Kings Dominion is one of the largest theme parks on the East Coast and the loyalty of the younger generation is outstanding. The park is located in an area that is very convenient off of interstate 95. Most parents use the theme park as a baby sitter. They drop their kids off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon after work. The park is so big and it caters to the younger generation and it adds a new ride every couple of years to make the park even more attractive to its customers.
Sarah, with her energeticness, found a way to persuade me to finally ride the dragster. My heart was pounding loudly with quasi-hesitation. With that fast pass that I won during a game of plinko, we had to wait 5 at the most for the front row of the train. It was a better choice than having to “patiently” wait in a one hour line with the hot sun baking your back. We were only a few launches away from moving into the ride station. The theme song, “Ready to Go” by Republica, was being played in the station. When I heard this song, I felt everything but “ready to go.” There were two seats across per row on each train which didn’t make the regular line go faster. All I could think about was the death-defying plunge down the one unbelievable 420-foot hill, I had pre-ride jitters. The train moved to the “starting line”, also known as the launch area. My thin legs trembled as I thought, this is it. Ever since that first glance, my heart rate increased. I heard a loud motor revving sound effect. Arms down, head back, and hold on. I found the brief message nettlesome, because it was frequently
There is an immense amount of rides in Walt Disney World. Some of the most famous rides are The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, and the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster starring Aerosmith. Also known as The Tower of Terror, this incredibly detailed attraction takes people very high up so they can see out the window for just a second, until it drops them to what seems like their doom. This is done repeatedly, until the ride comes to stop. Another thrilling ride is Space Mountain. On this mostly pitch black journey, riders are pulled into action in ups and downs. Another exhilarating
What most people expect to hear is me looking forward to riding the roller coasters. I hope that’s not what you thought because I hate them, maybe not hate, but really I’m just not a big fan of high altitudes in general. Consequently, this is why I was always reluctant to going with my family on this trip. Nevertheless I always went. Now that you know I’m not a fan of heights you could guess what attractions I was accustomed to riding, let’s just say my height requirement was more than enough to be eligible to ride. This specific year I decided to bring a friend to accompany me and in hindsight that was a bad idea because he was a roller coaster
Just because the roller coasters are the big advertisement opportunity, doesn't mean that there aren’t other attractions. In the park, you get a schedule that has a list of all the shows and exhibitions that are available that day. When I went, they had an Aviary that was filled with birds of all different colors that you could feed if you purchased the milk that was in the building. Also, they had shows such as an animal show where you sat on benches and watch as they showed off exotic creatures such as a hawk, fox, wolf, owl, and hamsters by putting them through trained tests that had everybody clapping at the end of
Not far from the opening gate, I glanced at the first ride I was going to experience, the Cork Screw. The whole entire family was going to ride on the rollercoaster, even my sister Alissa who is terrified of coasters. As I walked up the narrow path that led to the Cork Screw, I could see that there was a large number of people waiting to get onto the ride. While waiting patiently to board the coaster, I gazed up in awe at the Cork Screw, one of the newer roller coasters, which sparkled high above our heads. Twirling hoops and loops were the main attraction of this roller coaster.

Once we get tired of walking, we rode the ropeway or cable car and from there, we saw the whole amusement park in full color—it was an explosion of red, pink, and scarlet
After eating our sack lunches, our group of five decided to enter the park. I can hear the roller coaster tracks and machinery almost sounding like a train, watching the faces of the people. After...
A precautious individual, I began to pedal at a slightly increased rate. Still I didn't feel as though I was in any real danger, until the car flew past me, grazing my arm. An excessant shriek erupted from the car as it grinded to a halt at the coming stop sign. Then, to my greatest horror the white lights on the rear of the car ignited......the car was going in reverse.
Waiting in line to your favorite roller coaster is one of the most nerve wrecking and electrifying things about being at the park. Waiting in line is one of the times where you can read numerous people exact emotions. You can see people shaking and trembling in their pants as they await their turn. Kids are jumping with joy and excitement to get on the thrilling coaster. While their mother, on the other hand is trying to calm them down because inside, her heart is beating faster
