My personal Exodus Journey : Collin Cushenbery

GOING TO EGYPT-

My life before I was affected by my pornography addiction, was a much more simple and productive time. I was able to focus my time and effort on the things that actually mattered. Whether it was spending extra time studying for my classes, or putting in the extra work for my athletics. I was more focused on my relationships with people and was not spending long periods of time at my home by my self. My life in general was going very well. The Israelites had just left their home land in search for a even better life in Egypt. They thought that their life was also going pretty well and life seemed to be looking up. Egypt was supposedly a great new land for the people.

I first talked to a pastor and talked to him about what I was going through and how to stop. He told me it was a long road to recovery and that sometimes I will fail and go back to pornography. I felt God sitting with me and him while we talked and for once I felt like real progress was going to be made. I then talked to my parents about it and they helped me set up things at home that will prevent me from be tempted. It was hard telling them but it felt good to get off my chest. The passover meal was the final meal before Pharaoh let the people go. God killed the first born male of the Egyptians and was the tipping point of Pharaohs hardened heart. This connects to my story by having this one moment lead to real change. It was not easy for me, God or the Israelites, but it had to be done for the greater good.
