August Friday 13th Footsteps echoed throughout the small apartment. My eyes squinted, trying to adjust to the harsh lighting emitting from my alarm clocks blue interface. The clock read 3:44 am, strange considering how I usually don't wake up in the middle of the night. A small crash erupted from outside my room the second I finished my last thought. Panic rushed through me like an ocean crashing onto shore. I could feel the hairs on my body stand up straight. Each second I stood still the harder it got to control my breathing. My staggered breaths were almost gasps at this point, desperate to get some kind of oxygen into my lungs. The thought of someone in my house terrified me. Slowly I slipped my foot out from under my soft comforter to touch the hard cherry wood floors. Trying my hardest not to make a noise I shifted my weight to that foot and stood up with ease. My shaking hand reached to graze the wall to keep me steady. I made my way down to the door with only mild difficulty, yet I …show more content…
Carefully opening the door, I walked in hoping for some kind of safety at this point. Once I fished closing the closet door, I heard my bedroom door open slowly. I tried stopping my breathing as someone dug through my drawers and nightstand. Each second hurt more as I could hear my phone being unplugged and stuffed into someone's pocket. Soon after that went my jewelry, the soft clinks of my diamond earrings and silver necklace together distracted me from the fact my breathing had become rapid. Then all the noise stopped, it was if they disappeared. I was tempted to open the door, but decided against and stood frozen. I was able to calm down my shaking form, but it wasn't long till I heard noise again. Footsteps approached the door, I hid behind, centimeters of wood keeping me from a possible murder. Swiftly the closet door was ripped open, soon followed by my loud screams and

September 11, 2001 is known as the worst terrorist attack in United States history. On a clear Tuesday morning, there were four planes that were hijacked and flown into multiple buildings by a terrorist group named al Qaeda. This group, led by Osama bin Laden, killed nearly 3,000 people. Out of those 3,000 people more than 400 police and 343 firefighters were killed along with 10,000 people who were treated for severe injuries. Many lives were taken, and to this day, people still suffer from the attack. September 11th is the most influential event of the early twenty-first century because it made an increase in patriotism, it caused a rise in security throughout the nation, and it had a tremendous effect of thousands of lives.
There were numerous events and threats leading up to the terrorists attacks on the World Trade Center which left chaos amongst the streets of downtown New York City and would leave America and its families devastated and prone to change after this infamous date in our nation’s history. What happened on September 11th, 2001 was without a doubt both horrific and ill natured. Multiple terrorists hijacked several US airliners that would later be flown into the North and South towers, the Pentagon, and also an unintended area in Pennsylvania. It can be said that the United States of America was unprepared and vulnerable for these occurrences.
On September 11, 2001, Osama Bin Ladin executed the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. The attack killed over 2,900 people, and since then America has changed in many ways. One example is the phobia people now have against people of Middle-Eastern decent or people that practice the Islamic religion. Since people think differently of these groups, they do not treat them with the respect they give to other people. They can be denied jobs, education, housing because of their religion and/or their Middle Eastern background. Another example on how America has changed since 9/11, is the airport security has grown largely. The new change can impact many travelers, as well it spends a lot of the American government’s money.
On September 11, 2001 the United States of America was targeted for a terrorist attack. This attack, known as 9/11, has many theorized and some proved causes. 9/11 has affected America greatly and even continues to now. Effects began in September, 2001 and continues all the way to modern time. Major effects include social, political and economical effects that are within the country. Another major effect is America’s response to her foreign culprits. There are many causes and effects of the 9/11 attack on the United States of America.
On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”
9/11 was a tragic day for New Yorkers and citizens of the U.S. This topic is too emotional for some people to talk about, but we need to stop trying to forget what occurred that day and put our own efforts into solving what really went down. Let me start off by explaining the story that most people remembered 9/11 as. In the morning of September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorist that were in a group called al–Qaeda snuck through a billion dollar defense system with knives and box cutters, and were able to hijacked 4 planes. All planes were destined to go to California. At 8:45, one plane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:03, a second plane hit the south tower of the WTC, crashing into the 60th floor. About an hour and
September 11, 2001 marked one of the most tragic events in United States history. As a way to assure the safety and wellbeing of U.S. citizens shortly after being attacked by al-Qaeda, President Bush stated, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts may shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve”. Although President Bush was seen a source of security during a time of need, many citizens felt that his words were not genuine and part of a dramatic story the government wanted its people to believe. Despite the side taken, both perspectives of the argument can agree that the U.S. was attacked by a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda. On that Tuesday morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon, and the fourth into a field in rural Pennsylvania after passengers fought back against the terrorist to try and regain control of the plane. This is the story the government wants its people to believe. However, the truths about the attacks on 9/11 are much more frightening. On September 11th, 2001, the United States government betrayed its citizens by allowing the destructive attacks on the Twin Towers, WTC-7, the Pentagon, and Shanksville.
Two different bombing, both have brought countries closer together. By coming together showing the world that they can and will still stand strong. Even more their strong will and an even stronger nation. Reading the next paragraphs will state some similarities and differences on the attack of 9/11 in the United States and the 7/11 bombing in The United Kingdom. The two different terrorist attacks are the 9/11 terrorist attack on American soil and The London 7/7 Bombing. Even though the attacks are very different they are also very similar.
On September 11th 2001 one of the worst events in American history went down. Two Boeing 767 planes hit and destroyed the Twin Towers in Manhattan, New York. Due to the destruction of the buildings it brought up many questions as to why the buildings fell and the overall construction and stability of the buildings. Over weeks of research it has been seem that the construction and lack of stability in the buildings caused the most deaths. Due to lack of fireproofing and locations of exits and safety issues the building collapsed allowing hundreds if not thousands of people to die. The buildings flaws in constructions caused the deaths of many people and is the main cause/reason of death in the twin towers.
Some of us might remember how beautiful it was this day, how blue and clear the sky was. September 11, 2001 is not just a regular day anymore it marks the day terrorists attacked, not only New York but also America. Much like Pearl Harbor this is the day we were taken off guard and the day we struck back and went to war. With everything stripped away from us and no sense of what was going on, a country that was just fine on September 10, 2011 was now broken, on such a beautiful day such terror occurred. According to The Best American Magazine Writing in the article “Experts from the Encyclopedia of 9/11” there is a quote that reads, “Many of us remember going to work that week, searching for an appropriate journalistic response to a world that was changing in ways we couldn’t yet see.”(page 107) When our country was expecting failure and loss of control, we pulled together as a nation and started picking up the pieces from this tragedy that tore us apart this day. After reading this article I asked myself, how could anyone do such a horrible thing? Why would anyone want to give the...
9/11 was one of the darkest days in America, but some say the government could have been part of these attacks. For many years people have debated about the 9/11 cover up. This theory cannot explain why the government would do this. Once people understand why the 9/11 cover up is fake, they will begin to see the answer to their problem, could the government have done this? This conspiracy theory is wrong because, terrorists admitted to the attacks, so many people died, and there's no evidence against the government.
Prior to September 11th, 2001, airport security was a breeze. You gathered your things you wanted to bring on your trip/vacation/whatever it may be, and that was it. You boarded the plane and you were on your way to your destination. All that was required of you was to show proper identification. Unfortunately, nobody thought to intensify this process until these horrific events occurred. Four passenger planes were taken over by a total of 19 hijackers, all of whom brought sharp objects on the plane in order to take control. This proved to be relatively simple due to the pilots not being permitted to carry a firearm at this time. On this tragic day, 2,977 civilians lost their lives. To ensure something remotely similar to this never happens
BOOM!!! .... There went the second tower. On the day of September 11, 2001 the Twin Towers (world trade center) and the Pentagon were intentionally crashed into by a clan of terrorists. This was devastating to the United States of America.
Do you ever wonder if what you think happened on 9/11 might not be true? There is some evidence that explosions were used to bring down the Twin Towers. Also, the planes that hit the towers could’ve never actually hit the towers. The government could have let it happen, or even made it happen. In this thrilling essay, I will break down the mainstream consensus of what some people think happened on 9/11, I will explain my personal beliefs on this topic too.
