October 20, 2013, began as a normal Sunday. However, did I know that my life would be changed in a matter of seconds. I was so excited about practicing soccer with my travel team, in Oxford, that day. I could not wait to get to Oxford to see my teammates and coach since I had not seen them in a few weeks, due to not having practiced in the past weeks. When I got to the fields, I quickly jumped out of the car and hurried over to the field so I could meet up with my team to begin practice.
At the end of practice, our coach, Marcus, began to make my team do a drill called 2v2. This is a drill that involves two players that go against two other opponents and both teams try to keep possession and control over the ball as long as they possibly can. My partner and I

Before starting the game, I never would have imagined that this game would bring upon a new chapter in my life. Therefore, as the whistle blew, my partner and I both ran toward the ball trying to get it before our opponents got to it first. This game felt just as normal as the other three games; high intensity, fast moving, trying to keep the ball under control, and to keep possession of it away from our opponents. Toward the end of the game, the ball became emancipated from all of our feet so one of my opponents and I both scurried at full throttle toward the ball, to see who would get possession back over it. As we approached the ball, I shifted all my weight onto my right leg trying to get the ball. However, when I did that, my opponent kept on running and ran right into me and blew my knee out. When she did that, I fell right to the ground in severe pain shooting down my right leg from my knee down. Everyone ran over screaming,” Are you okay? What is hurting?” I replied with tears rolling down my
The soccer field is the only place he is able to do this, not at school, not at home, and not in his community. Paul has to leave Lake Windsor to be able to play soccer in Tangerine. The kids in Lake Windsor are snotty, rich, and self-centered. But the kids in Tangerine are hard working, resourceful, and proud. During their first soccer game, Paul described the game as, “The Palmetto players got down and dirty right away, and their fans cheered them on.”
Earlier in the spring I was playing a soccer game against the South Anchorage varsity soccer team. I was playing left midfield, taking the ball up the left side of the field when the other team’s right fullback stepped up to get the ball. I cut to the right and heard a loud snap that rung in my ears. I could not stand up. Every time I tried to move my leg, waves of pain pounded from my knee. I had to be carried off the pitch. I learned a few days later
On February 28, 2005, I experienced one of the most exciting events that anyone could ever experience – winning a State Championship. The day my soccer team made history is a day I’ll never forget. However it is not just that day we won the title, but the whole experience of the preceding season that got us there. From start to finish, my team’s 2004-2005 season taught me that the platitude is true. You can do anything you set your mind to.
The horn blew and the game started, Dedham won the face off and is running down the field at a faster pace than I was used to. They shot the ball! I couldn’t move my stick quick enough to save it, so I threw my body in front of it and got hit right in the shoulder. It hurt a lot, but what I hadn’t realized was that it hit my shoulder and reflected ten feet away from the net where my player caught it and ran down the field and scored. The other team didn’t know what hit them. It was the half now and the score was three to nothing in our favor. Our couch told us that we needed to keep up the good work.
Our book defines a group as a collection of people who are perceived to bond together in a coherent unit to some degree (Baron 241). Making a decision isn’t always easy depending on how many people are in the group and if there is any conflict within the group. The basic aspects of a group include roles, status, norms and cohesiveness but when viewing my soccer team I see only certain obvious aspects being present. When thinking about the process in which we, as a group have to make the decision of where to stop for food after an away game, it is obvious that many theories and/or topics can be applied. These theories or topics include evaluation apprehension, social decision schemas, authentic dissent and conflict. The four subjects listed above help explain how a group can come to a decision together.
Soccer the most popular sport in the world, since is the sport with more active players with around 270 million athletes. By having registered so many players, it’s not surprising that this sport has more fans than any other sport worldwide. Every team looks for a player that moves the ball, and that creates plays to score. This means a person that pass the ball through the entire game. To pass the ball in a proper way is one of the main skills a player needs to play soccer. Passing the ball, keeps the game going. Without being able to pass the ball accurately to your teammates, more than likely your team won’t be able to score a goal. The key for passing is to keep things simple. This means passing the ball to your nearest teammate that is not marked by an opponent.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world play or watch soccer. There are more than one hundred and fifty professional leagues in the world for soccer. While America has one major soccer league in the country Europe has a handful. Soccer is becoming more popular in America, but is far from having the popularity similar to overseas. Soccer has progressed in America from the North American Soccer League to Major League Soccer. The fact is, soccer overseas has had more time to grow and develop. In time, the MLS can become a powerhouse for soccer in the world alongside the premier leagues.Eventually, the MLS will compete with the pace, shots, and skills observed on and off the ball.
The definition of soccer: “A game played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponent 's ' goal.” When I think about the thing I’m most passionate about, soccer pops into my head right away. Soccer represents more than just a game to me. The sport gives me an outlet distract me from the real world, it taught me to overcome a battle that shaped my character, and my teammates bring out the best in me.
When I started playing football I was about eleven years old. I played for my park organization which was Brown Park. My first team name I played for was the Titians. The coach for the Titians is the one who actually made me come play because he had seen me in the basketball gym. He said I could move for my size and would like me to play with him. I said no but then he went talk to my mom and next thing I know my mom tells me I am playing football next year. I was horrible the first couple weeks but got better later in the season. I became one the best defense lineman and offensive lineman players on the team. Then when I got older I played football in middle school at Acadian Middle and Lafayette Christian Academy. My first year playing running back was when I went to Acadian Middle. In my middle school years I was just the power back. Players, people, and even coaches all thought I could not have been a speed back. But, when I got to high school at Lafayette Christian Academy, I started showing a glimpse that I can be an overall line back. It did not truly happen until the biggest play of my career came. When I told my teammate, Sterling Miller
I've recently came to the realization that plying full time soccer from when I was 5 years old to now has put a toll on my body.

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” This is a quote by Pele that demonstrates soccer in so many ways. Today I will tell you that there are many aspects in the game of soccer, some of which are the history, the rules and how to become a good soccer player.
When I grow up I will become a soccer player. I will become this because I really love the sport. I have played for soccer for seven years and I don’t plan to quit. I play as a forward on a select soccer team named the St. Louis Prospects.
It was the start of summer 2002, and the Mid America Youth Basketball (MAYB) national tournament was taking place in Andover, Kansas. Along with the rest of the team, I was excited to play some basketball for the first time since the middle school basketball season was over. Our team, Carlon Oil, had been together and played every summer for the last four years. We were a really good team, with an overall record of 65-4 over those four years and were hoping to continue our legacy. Lonnie Lollar, our coach for the summer, was also the coach of our high school basketball team. I had a history of groin injuries, and every summer it seemed that I would have to sit out at least a game on the bench icing my groin. But this summer was different, and I along with everyone in the gym wouldn't have expected my summer to end with a injury such as a broken leg.
It was a gloomy day, Hurricane Hermine blew past Greenville leaving behind scattered puddles across campus as well as lingering clouds blocking most of the sunlight. The air was cool yet there was a certain electricity present that made that day feel less dreary. It was the first home college football game, East Carolina University was going to play against Western Carolina University. The two institutions haven’t played each other since 1981 and it was sure to be an interesting match up, football season was back in full swing and this match would define the success to come for the home team.
