Recommended: Benefits of napping
Based on previous discoveries made by highly accurate researchers, it is now known that napping can greatly benefit those who do it properly, both physically and mentally.
A “nap” refers to a given point during the where one sleeps for less than or around an hour. Many of you may remember these from when you were a child. Kids often take naps for many reasons, which benefit not just the child, but everyone around him/her as well. First, napping improves a child’s mood upon waking. If he/she was throwing fits and being cranky before his nap, he/she is now almost guaranteed to be in a much happier mood because of the his/her short period of rest. Secondly allowing a child time during the day to sleep, on top of his needed nightly sleep, will
Second, “A tired child is almost not a child but a monster waiting to spoil your plans,” says Lori Bulloch of North Salt Lake, Utah, mother of a four year old, two year old, and a four month old. “It’s worth it for me to arrange my schedule around nap times. a rested child is simply a different child.” Bulloch adds. Children who get a satisfying nap sometime throughout the day will be happier than a child who doesn’t take or receive one.
One critical factor in maintaining good health is staying active during the day. Napping can help you get rid of drowsiness during the middle of the day and help you stay active. For example, the article by Maria Allegra called “The Secret Truth About Napping” it is stated that “Winston Churchill, who helped lead the Allied Powers to victory during World War II, slept for at least an hour every afternoon. He stated that a nap could renew a person’s energy.” This statement from an expert shows the author also shares the same idea with me that, napping is a great way to renew your energy during the middle of the day if you didn’t get enough sleep overnight. Getting enough rest is a big factor for having better health and a good lifestyle.
“When the going gets tough, the tough take a nap.” This statement by Tom Hodgkinson perfectly describes the solution to the life of the average American high schooler, who wakes up early, rushes to school, and undergoes several grueling classes, only to later participate in extracurricular activities and return home to complete homework. Due to all these activities, only a vast minority of teenagers obtain the amount of sleep they need in a night; Tom Hodgkinson’s quote proposes a solution to this problem. By instituting naptime in high schools, students could simply nap to refresh themselves when the going gets tough, whether that be an excessive amount of homework, an extremely demanding test, or a sports practice that lasts long into the
If I were to wake up as the opposite gender my life would change drastically. From waking up in the morning to my daily routine being treated as a man rather than as a women would be completely different. First, I would wake up later than I would being a women. I would not spend as much time getting ready and primping myself before my day. I would simply wake up and put on a simple shirt and simple jeans. Being a man I would not care about my appearance as much as I do being a women. Rather than picking out my outfit the night before I would simply throw something on. This is because in our society today women are judged on their appearance. I have been trained by my peers and our culture to value my appearance for that is what I am presenting to others especially the opposite gender.

It was just last summer when a young boy and girl went to one of the biggest parties before the start of their senior year in high school. In the state of Ohio, there are some pretty crazy parties held by teenagers, whose rich parents just happen to be away from their multi-million dollar lake house for the weekend. It was just like that scene you see in all movies, where the music is blaring, plastic cups filled with substances that they shouldn’t have, the occasional illegal drug(s) and of course hundreds of teenagers from all around the area, who are clueless to what they have done the night before when they wake up.
Sleep plays an important role in everyone’s overall wellbeing. Sleep is the time where our brain can process and sort the abundant information we received throughout our day. During sleep our bodies repair, restore, and rejuvenate neural growth, memory consolidation, and it also protects us from cellular damage. (Feist and Rosenberg, 2012, pg. 243) All of those, combined, are quite important for our everyday normal function, and not getting enough sleep can be detrimental to our well beings. So in order to see personally how sleep plays a factor in my life, I recorded how much sleep I received for the past ten days, and how my overall mood and performance was throughout each day. Here’s what I found.
I think adults should not be taking naps during the day. It is a waste of time and effort. People might think it helps, but it leaves you groggy and ineffectual after you wake up. Reaserch showes that you’ll have a low rate of heart attacks, but it also take times from their busy lives. Adults are old enough and mature enough to know what is causing them their afternoon sleepiness. Find a solution to that core problem. If you decide to take a nap you will be doing it incorrectly and sleep longer than what you would have been “refreshed” by that time. Napping take away work time and personal time that you will have to make up later. In some companies they have “nap-pods” but that will just encourage their emploies to nap during work, wich will
