The Silk Road made sure if you didn’t trade items you can hold, then you can trade items you can cherish. Finally, in the western civilizations (Rome), it was accessed by boat. Boats could carry a ton more items and it was less of a walk for the merchants/traders. However, the Silk Road did lead a small backup path up north of Parthia. Around 27 B.C.E., the Roman Empire had only begun, but the silk road had been a thing for a very long time before that.

The Mongols influenced the world in many great ways, one of them was their vast trade system. They relied quite heavily on trade, not only to gain resources, but also to get their inventions and objects to the Europeans and then hopefully spread from there. The Mongols enhanced the trading system by composing the “Silk Road”. The Silk Road was a path/road that the Mongols had control of and it was a trade route that many travelers and traders took. Along the Silk Road, the main resource that was traded was silk, hence the name “Silk Road.” The
People can eat American fast food in China, India, and Thailand and so on. The most popular of American fast food is McDonald’s. In China, McDonald’s dishes integrate Chinese and Western cuisine, especially in diet structures. To be more specific, the beverage size of McDonald’s is different between the United States and China. A medium sized drink in the U.S is equal the large size in China (Margot Peppers). Then, the McDonald’s of China serves rice and soup as lunch. McDonald’s does not have this diet structure in the United States. The reason why Chinese McDonald’s has this style of food because American fast food has to adapt foreign atmosphere. It has to change the diet structure in order to the requirement of the local ethic group. That is a similar situation when Chinese immigrants open restaurants in the United
The Silk Road is trade route that connected east and west. Inaccurately named by Ferdinand von Richthofen in the 19th century, it is actually a collection of roads. Traders didn’t usually traverse the whole length of the route, however. Goods were usually traded multiple times before they reached the final destination. Items leaving from Asia and China were goods such as: silk, spices, textiles, ivory, jade, bronze objects, ceramics, lacquarware, flowers, furs, paper, jewelry, minerals, horses, and exotic plants and animals. Goods from the west were: wool, linen, coins, bullion, ambergris, gold, ivory, amber, coral, other precious stones, beads, and glass (a commodity that China has not been able to produce at this point). Goods originating from India were:...

Have you ever had a hamburger? Of course you have, hamburgers are served almost anywhere, because they’re easy to make. America is known for fatty foods, because of the grease found in hamburgers. Hamburgers can be found at most restaurants, fast food places, and popular holidays, and get togethers. With that being said it can be concluded that hamburgers are the most American food because of the grease, popularity, and since they’re easy, they’re found everywhere.
Ever since my youth there is a dish I have always enjoyed, the Vietnamese noodle soup commonly known as pho. Pronounced as "fuh", the soup is made up of broth, rice noodles that are linguine-shaped known as bánh phở, meat, and a few herbs. Pho originated in northern Vietnam in the early 20th century. The soup can be served with chicken, beef, pork or seafood, although beef and chicken are the most traditionally used proteins. This soup is a common street food for the Vietnamese (Greeley, 80). However, it has evolved over time to become a specialty in restaurants worldwide including here in the United States. It has become popular in other countries because of the Vietnam War refugees. It is normally eaten for breakfast, but also occasionally for lunch by Southern Vietnamese, while it is consumed any time of the day by Northern Vietnamese (Pham, 15). I will also use it as a hangover cure after a long night of drinking.
The term Silk Road does not refer to a single, clearly defined road or highway, but rather denotes a network of trails and trading posts, oasis and markets scattered all across Central Asia. All along the way, branch routes led to destinations off to the side of the main route, with one especially important branch leading to northwestern India, and thus to other routes throughout the subcontinent. The Silk Road network is generally thought of as stretching from an eastern station at the old Chinese capital city of Chang'an to westward stations at Byzantium (Constantinople), Antioch, Damascus, and other Middle Eastern cities. But beyond those end points, other trade networks distributed Silk Road goods throughout the Mediterranean world and Europe, on one end, and throughout eastern Asia on the other end.
I was born in one of the countries in Asia, and our staple food is rice. Rice is always at the center of the table, and the rest of the viand surrounds it. Here in the United States, my household still eat rice every day, accompanied by cooked vegetables and meat. My food choices are influenced by culture and family. Vegetables and fruits of my choice are abundant at the International Market and other Asian grocery stores. Vegetables are also available for a cheaper price at the farmers market. I myself buy these foods to ensure its freshness, prepare and cook them for my entire family. Inspired by Asian and American cuisine, our food is prepared with variety of cooking styles; such as dry like barbecues, baked and fried, with sauce
Legal Harborside, located in Boston Massachusetts, lives up to its slogan “If it isn’t fresh, it isn’t Legal” by being the only restaurant company where they have their own Quality Control Center which, is located also in Boston Massachusetts. When someone applies for a job position at Legal Harborside, they watch a fifteen minute video about the company and they become familiar with the standards the company holds when it comes to their fish being fresh. Their QCC headquarters can be seen from the restaurant, which is a chain of the restaurant Legal Sea Foods. The guests might not know of the QCC but they have a view of the building and can also see the boats where the fish are catched. The restaurant has an open floor plan where guests can go outside and view the water and have a view of the farm-to-table that the company provides. The quality of the fish and the standards it has to meet is of the highest level because of the QCC.

Shigeno eventually mixes in a half-dozen more chefs and cooks into his film. One chef, over 70 years old, generally turns out over 1,000 bowls of ramen each day. The different cooks all have different takes on the same basic recipe. Shigeno shows us that the broth and the ingredients used to populate it make all the difference. Essentially, there’s plenty of ramen to go around for everyone and, at times, you cannot help but wonder, does anyone ever eat anything else?
Through new experiences, people are impacted by the unique taste of food in Asia. Nevertheless, not many people in the West know the taste of authentic food of, for example, Chinese food. A previous faculty member at NYU’s center for Multicultural Education and Programs, Rachel Kuo, a writer for Everyday Feminism, states: “The relationship between food and culture also means that food can be used as a tool of marginalization” (Kuo). For example, when thinking about Chinese food in the West, Americans often blurt out their main dishes such as fried rice or Lo Mein with General Tso’s chicken. Many assume that these cuisines are the traditional Chinese food. However, this may not be the case in a different country like Korea or even the original country, China. In Korea, Chinese food consists of noodles made with a black bean pasting called Jajang-meon and fried beef topped with sweet, pineapple sauce called tangsuyook. On the other hand, in China “Steamed white rice is the most commonly eaten food… Chinese noodles come dry or fresh and are often served in soups or fried as toppings such as Shou Mian” (Wikipedia). This difference in the authentic Chinese food and Chinese food served in the West provide clear evidence of manipulation for Chinese food in the West. Thus, this modification in food creates a homogenous idea when thinking about food
