Tuff and Tough
The four things that I've picked on the tuff side is basketball, Nba 2k16, sleeping and summer. To begin with the reason I chose basketball is being that it is my favorite sport and my number 1 hobby, as well as that it`s my passion and what I strive for. Then I chose NBA 2k16 because it's my absolute favorite video game to play, whenever I have free time or it's the weekend I will always play NBA 2k16. Thirdly I chose summer for a couple reasons. One being that it's the hottest season because I completely hate the cold, also due to the fact that you can go outside a lot more. Finally for tuff I have chosen sleeping because it's my favourite part of the day, whenever I have a bad day I'm not feeling well I`ll always look forward
sports I play and take it beyond that to practice it during my free time to be the best I can.
Basketball was first introduced to Nova Scotia as early as 1895 but in the past thirty years the popularity of the sport has really taken off. The high concentration of universities in the province, the tradition and esteem of the high school programs, and the continued support from a large and knowledgeable basketball community have made the game a staple of Nova Scotia life, culminating with the capital city of Halifax becoming known as the basketball capital of Canada. When you talk about basketball in the Maritimes you can break it down into different levels of competition. There are the club systems throughout the province, the regional and provincial teams, then high school basketball, then you have to look at intercollegiate basketball, and finally pro basketball that was here for a short period of time. Another way of looking at how the sport has come along in the past thirty years is by focusing on the people who have been an integral part in its development. People such as Bob Douglas, Mickey Fox, Ritchie Spears, Brian Heaney, Steve Konchalski, and Bill Robinson, who through different roles have made and continue to make an impact on basketball in this province. Others who will not be discussed as much but whose role was just as important are those who laid the groundwork for all of the aforementioned. People such as Stu Aberdeen who created a legacy at Acadia University and in the process developed some of the best coaches this province has ever seen. Others like Al Yarr, Terry Symonds, and Frank Baldwin, whose tremendous efforts at the minor, high school, university, and national levels earned him the name Mr. Basketball. The foundation that was set by these people has allowed basketball to flourish in Nova Scotia on every level.
In the poem, “Ex – Basketball Player” by john Updike, (which is a narrative poem) illustrates the nature of life on how life is potentially is seen has a mirror to other people’s life, especially people who play sports. Life is the physical and mental experience of an individual. An in the poem the main character Flick, supply the poem with a good example of how life is potentially a mirror for other people. This poem is formally organized, even though it locks some qualities, it still haves the qualifications of a good poem. The “Ex Basket Player” is an interested poem because it has a good theme, tone and lots of figurative languages.
There are 12240 students at Duke University, and every year 12 out of those 12240 are put on a mission. The expectations are far above the ground, these 12 men and their coaching staff are called the Duke University Blue Devils basketball team. Year after year their mission is to bring home an NCAA basketball national championship trophy. Three of 84 teams at Duke University have reached their goal by winning a national championship.
Baseball - Talk about something I live and die for. This sport means more to me than my first kid will ever mean to me. No not literally but that is how important and meaningful this sport is to me. This sport has given me the opportunity to meet some of the greatest people and most inspirational people in my life. More than anything this sport has taught me to fail at something and be okay with it.
People have always wonder if the NBA is rigged or not. Is the NBA rigged? There are a bunch of theories that it is rigged. Also there are a lot of things the NBA brings up that it could make it go either way. A lot of people want to know more about this topic so they know if it is actually rigged or if it is not rigged. There is a lot of evidence and some pretty convincing arguments that suggest that what people see on the hardwood is not what actually happens in the National Basketball Association. Now more and more people are starting to wonder if the National Basketball Association is playing fair or if they are rigging the games.
I have throughout my whole life been playing sports. I still play basketball competitively and now it’s at the university level. Basketball though was not my first love when it came to playing sports. It has though become my true focus since junior high school. Coming from Canada everybody plays hockey. Its almost as if as soon as you learn to walk you learn how to skate. Whether it is at the recreation centre or at the shinny rink around the corner everyone plays. Eventually I abandoned hockey to play basketball which I have done so for the last twelve years of my life and hopefully a few more years into the future.
Through discovering my senses of self, I have reaffirmed the most important parts of my life, validating them on what seems like a value-scale. Because my bonds with God, my family, and friends are so strong and crucial, I know not a day could go by without consulting each of those elements. However, in considering my role as an athlete and student, I have noticed that while sports and my growing knowledge base give me great pleasure, my life would certainly hold many of the same core values, even if those elements dwindled or even escaped my everyday life.
Being part of the basketball clique in high school helped me learn the intrapersonal and social communication skills I use today. As a child playing basketball was my favorite activity or hobby. It's also the way I met a lot of my good friends that I have now. All my close friends I have met. I have met them through playing basketball.. Whether they were on my team, the opposing team or just fans in the crowd who admired my play. Not only has basketball helped me gain friends, but basketball also taught me a lot about life. There are many aspects of life that coincide with basketball. For instance basketball is a team game and an individual game. Like in life you have to work together with other people. The communication skills I learned from basketball helped me communicate with friends, girlfriends, parents and bosses at work.

During my leisure time, I really enjoy sports, both indoor and outdoor. I have represented my faculty in the sports tournament for volley ball, swimming, futsal, badminton and chess. Besides that, I also enjoy climbing and traveling as they give me full satisfaction and at the same time broaden my views and knowledge on creatures surrounding me.
I like doing a lot of things but four things stand out to me the most as defining factors of my personality. I have always wanted to help people through service. Service is important because it allows me to connect with others on a personal level as I help them. Hiking is also important to me because I can go out in the wilderness and hike for five to ten miles without seeing any man made structures. This allows me to connect with nature and deepen my understanding of natural settings. Guitar is a fun activity to do inside of school and outside. I participate in Jazz band in school and I have really enjoyed it for the seven years I have been playing. Academics is probably the most challenging item on the list but I enjoy getting to a conclusion that makes sense. Service, hiking, guitar, and academics are the core of who I am.
If you were to ask my friends what I love to do, my guess is that the majority of them would come up with this reply, "He loves to play sports". Sports are a big part of my life, and if I had to choose my favorite sport to play it would have to be basketball. I couldn't imagine going a week without being able to touch a basketball, and I thought I would never have to. But on one summer afternoon, that all changed when I broke my leg. It left me on crutches for two months, and not being able to play basketball all that summer. At first I thought it wouldn't be so bad, getting all the attention and sympathy from everyone. However, after one game I soon realized that I would do just about anything to get rid of those horrible crutches and get back on the court.
For me, the most important thing, besides my family, is badminton. I train 6 times a week, and that does not include tournaments in weekends. It helps me stressing of and it helps keeping in shape. Badminton gives me lot of experiences.
