Myrtle Beach Every year in the summer, my family and I always take a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Leading up to the trip, planning ahead and packing clothes is always exciting to me. Myrtle Beach is a beautiful place where family and friends go to have fun. It is my favorite place because of the attractions, hotels, and the Fourth of July festival. First, the attractions are one reason Myrtle Beach is my favorite place.The attractions begin while driving up there because one gets to see tall buildings and bridges over water. Entering into Myrtle, people see the sky wheel and beautiful lights. Once there, Myrtle has many areas to shop. My favorite area is Tanger Outlet which has a variety of shopping centers like Belk’s. Most of the hotels are lavishly decorated, clean, and offer free internet and breakfast. The employees are always generous and courteous. The most popular hotel is called the Palace Resort. It has an outdoor pool, twenty- three floors, and is pet friendly. Most hotels are located in front of the beach withinwalking distance to the shoppingcenters.The amenities, staff, and locations are what make Myrtle Beach hotels great places to stay. The Fourth of July festival at Myrtle Beach isthe final reason why it is my favorite place. This big festival happens on the beach every year. Fireworks are popped in the air and burst out in flames like a shooting star. They serve smooth and frosty exotic drinks. The signature drink is a pina colada served in a pineapple with an umbrella tooth pick.Also, you can taste a variety of foodsfor example crab cakes, ribs, hamburgers, and chicken fingers. Have you ever wondered why the Tampa Bay area is always so hot and storms every afternoon in the summer time? Living in Tampa my whole life I never thought twice about why every day in the summer time we were hit with an afternoon thunderstorm, it was just common knowledge. Tampa Bay is in Florida, and also known as the lightning capital of the United States of America. Florida is right at the most south eastern portion of the United States and is a peninsula, so the conditions are just right for afternoon thunderstorms. There is much more than just simple evaporation and precipitation going on, there is a list of consistent factors at play that cause the Tampa Bay area to receive these thunderstorms. Some of the factors that cause Tampa Bay to have such a predictable climate are the air masses surrounding the south eastern portion of the United States and cold fronts coming from the west.
I have been to Florida a billion times, but there are only two places that I normally visit. Sanibel Island and Destin. Traveling to Sanibel Island is almost like a tradition for my family because every year we try to go down there. My grandparents first went to Sanibel with my whole family (cousins and all) about 15 years ago and ever since then, it has been our family’s main “vacation spot”. I have gone to Sanibel almost every year, but last year I also went to Destin. Now the main reason we decided to go there as well is because we wanted to travel somewhere nearby the panhandle of Florida. The water and beaches are also very contrasting in comparison to Sanibel. Sanibel’s beaches even had heaps of sea shells going out into the water. The sand is also more dense than that of Destin. Even Sanibel’s water is darker and more cloudy, so it was crazy to see Destin’s water so clear! The beach (which is called Emerald Cove, where I stayed at) had sand that was so white and soft it
Things that you need to know about the city of New Orleans. This is the biggest city in the state of Louisiana. It is also known for jazz music. It has a basketball team called the New Orleans Hornet and a football team called New Orleans Saints. New Orleans has lots of things to see and to do. Like Mardi Gras it is a parade that’s held in New Orleans. I will be talking about New Orleans early settlement, traditions, culture, weather, lifestyle, closing, and works cited.
An issue that we can have here in Horry County is dry weather. Dry weather can be conducive to an increased risk of wildland fires. In the unincorporated areas, people are allowed to burn their debris without a permit and often don’t think about weather conditions.
Atlanta and Miami are both amazing places for vacation because they both have great entertainment, culture, and food. Miami and Atlanta are very different because Miami has many more attractions, an amazing nightlife, and beautiful beaches and Atlanta has a small amount of attractions, nice nightlife, and good weather.
When you think of the Eastern Shore, you may think of seafood, beaches, annoying tourists, and other attractions. But, a more interesting thing that people don’t immediately think of are hauntings. Hauntings of the Eastern Shore are unique and interesting things that also influence our culture. There are many myths, attractions, places, museums, and interesting stories from different people. Not all paranormal activity is the same, they all have a uniquely fascinating story behind them that makes the Eastern Shore unique. “Each year, in the Fall, haunted houses, hayrides, and trails find a new and creepier way to scare Marylanders” (Cockrum).
One of the best vacation spots and most fun are down the shore in Wildwood, New Jersey. Wildwood consists of a boardwalk with tons of rides and fun, a beach with a beautiful ocean, and little summerhouses with ocean-side views. The best attractions though would probably be located on the boardwalk. There are so many things to see and do. Although it’s rather costly, it’s well worth it and it’s a great place for a family to share quality time together.
The first major difference between these vacation spots is the amount of activities there is to be done. There are many amazing restaurants around the area with some of the best country food you can find. Pigeon Forge is also known for its vast amount of Ripley's Believe it or Not museums. There is also a place in Pigeon Forge which is one of my favorite places called the AppleBarn, where you can buy many fresh apple products. Since the town is a tourist town, this also means that there is always new and exciting business opportunities. In a small town it is very hard to start a new business because in most small towns everyone knows each other and won't spend money on a businesses which is not a locally historic businesses. Semaphore is a classic Adelaide beach supporting many facilities. However, this would not be the case if coastal management was not put into progress. Coastal management is a way of supporting the world’s coasts, by using many techniques from construction of structures in which prevents wave energy from reaching the shore to planned strategies. Factors of this includes; rising sea levels, erosion, long and short term drift, sand movement and marine biology. The importance of coastal management is quite significant as it will help to prevent coastal erosion. I believe that Southern California is a great place to visit because of the great weather and the beautiful and fun attractions to visit. This would be a great place for a vacation. I might be a little bit biased since on May 17, 1995, I was born in Southern California and lived there for the first 10 years of my life. I have many fond memories of the Sunshine State.
South Carolina has amazing tourist attractions. A famous one is Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter is a seaport in Charlestown. It was the place of the first and third battle of the Civil War. Brookgreen Garden at Myrtle Beach has beautiful statutes and is a 5 star garden. It is also rated place in the Top 10 Gardens of the world. Picture a beautiful city surrounded by tall skyscrapers soaring into the clouds and the beautiful statue of liberty standing still on the water. You walk down the street passing hundreds of little shops and restaurants, all the while you are taken a back by the breathtaking beauty of the city that you are gazing upon. Now picture laying on the beach at sunset listening to the ocean waves. The air is crisp and the smell of saltwater is bitter sweet. The locations I’m describing are New York City and Myrtle Beach. I have 2500 dollars to take on vacation to one of these destinations and I am comparing and contrasting the two. I will be considering the cost of travel, food, hotel, and also activity and miscellaneous expenses.

It is not just the common things such as a beach or huge mountains that make these two places stand out among others. It is, however, the amazing destinations that these two places offer to anyone that chooses one them to vacation at. When it comes to Panama City Beach, places such as Shell Island, Shipwreck Island, and Pier Park guarantee an extravagant vacation. Locations such as these are what make Panama City Beach flourish among other beaches. In the Great Smoky Mountains, standout spots such as Cades Cove, the city of Gatlinburg, and Ober Gatlinburg are what give this destination its amazing reputation among others. When vacationing at one of these locations, a bad time is almost impossible to run into.
