Writing History
In high school, my English teacher always emphasized about the importance of writing and pointed out how students lack the writing skills nowadays. In my senior year of high school, she spent most of time on teaching us how to create an outline, citation styles, and some writing tips. At the end of that year, she made us to write a 16-page research paper as a senior project. It was a nightmare when I was working on it, but I have learned several things from that project and from this experience, I don’t get easily panic when I face the heavy amount of writing assignments.

I spend most of my time on this step and the more time I spend, the more I feel confident about my work. Then I write a brief outline. The outline helps me to stay focused on each point and helps to make the paper organized.
I prefer to write in my own place alone. I cannot focus on the writing when people are around me. I try to make a nearly finished version of drafts and re-read silently. But if necessary, I revise it multiple times until I feel confident about the paper. I use Grammarly to check basic grammar errors and if I need further advice, I ask my friends to read my work or go to the writing place.

Reading
I enjoy reading books. I used to read a lot of books and I still like books, but now I don’t spend much time on it as much as I did when I was younger. Book can be informative or entertaining. I don’t restrict myself reading in a certain genre, but if I have to pick one, I enjoy life lesson books the most. Those books teach me philosophies and something that I cannot learn from school. Then I write down the review of the book that includes favorite part and what I learned from it. My favorite author is Mitch Albom. I love “Tuesdays with Morrie” among his
