Writing has never been my strong suit; however I am looking for to finishing this course with improving my writing and communication skills to others. The writing assignments I want to do well in are the Health Education Materials paper and the Public Health Campaign. The reason why is because these two assignments involves educating others on public health issues using primary prevention methods, and I am a strong advocate for the teaching of interventions before the onset of disease and injury. For the activities, I hope that the peer review has a big impact on me so I will be able to learn from my mistakes and improve on my writing.
The writing assignments I believe that will be difficult for me are the Targeted Application Package, Review
Article, and the Grant Proposal in this course. The reason why is because these assignments involves reaching out to someone in a higher position for employment, and I would not know where to start because I never written documents like these before. With practice and peer reviews I believe that I will not be hesitant about writing these types of papers, and I will be able to apply these writing skills in the workforce. The last time I had to write for a course that focused on my writings skills immensely was English101 my freshman year. Now professional writing is the next course that will prepare my writing skills for the working force or life outside of the university. With that being said I am not too confident looking forward to this course because in English 101 I received a low B and high C on my paperwork in the course. I am hoping at the end of this course I will be a better writer who is able to write efficient papers that will attain me the job that I desire.
Assignment 3A reflective letter allowed me to express how the process went when writing my research paper. Writing this letter also allowed me to know what could have been done differently when writing the research essay and future assignments. Another assignment that allowed me to reflect on my writing process over time was the Literary Narrative. For this assignment I created a poem about my reading and writing process from the age three years old until now. I enjoyed this assignment and was able to share my creative writing style while expressing how much I value reading and writing

Africans and African descended people tried to cope or more so resist their daily problems of being enslaved. Slavery resistance originated in British North America almost as soon as the first slaves arrived in the Chesapeake in the early 17th century. The most shared of all the acts of resistance was an effort to claim some amount of freedom against an establishment that defined people basically as property. Maybe the most common forms of resistance were those that take place in the work location. Slavery was ultimately about forced labor, and the enslaved struggled daily to express the standings of their work. Over the many years, ordinary rights developed in most fields of production. These tolls dictated work customs, distribution of rations, general rules of conduct, and etc. If the slave masters increased the workloads, provided insufficient rations, or punished the slaves too severely, slaves showed their unhappiness by slowing work, pretending to be sick, breaking tools, or damaging production.
In literature, tone is the attitude a literary works takes toward it subject and theme (Booth 147). The tone in the stories, "The Road Not Taken” and "Hills like White Elephants" are very decisive, strong tones toward the subject in each poem. In the story, "The Road Not Taken" the traveler has decided to embark down the path that is less traveled by others. Then in the story, "Hills like White Elephants" the man and the woman are trying to decide if they should have an abortion or not.

In 1943, with World War 2 in full throttle, Ayn Rand’s novel “The Fountainhead” was published. Written during a chaotic period in history, this book appeals to the reader's emotions by promoting individual rights, capitalism, and romantic realism. Antisocial personality disorder is a personality disorder marked by a general pattern of disregard for a violation of other people’s rights. Explanations of antisocial personality disorder come from the psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, and biological models. As with many other personality disorders, psychodynamic theorists propose that this disorder starts with an absence of parental love during infancy leading to a lack of basic trust. In this view, the children that develop this disorder respond to early inadequacies by becoming emotionally distant, and they bond with others through use of power and destructiveness. Behavioral theorists have suggested that antisocial symptoms may be learned through modeling, or imitation. As evidence, they point to the higher rate of antisocial personality disorder found among the parents of people with this disorder. Other behaviorists suggest that some parent’s unintentionally teach antisocial behavior by regularly awarding a child’s aggressive behavior. The cognitive view says that people with this disorder hold attitudes that trivialize the importance of other people’s needs. Cognitive theorists also believe that these people have a genuine difficulty recognizing a point of view other than their own. Finally studies show that biological factors may play an important role in developing antisocial disorder. Researchers have found that antisocial people, particularly those with high impulse and aggression, display lower serotonin activity and has been linked this same activity with other studies as well.

Stepping into unknown territory, the assignments in this course differed from the usual rhetorical analysis. The shift from high school writing to academic college research ranged in different forms. For example, the longevity of the research papers was about two times longer than the normal two-three pages required. In addition, the process of writing expanded from the typical rough draft to the preparation of the citation resources used. The communication in the assignments was often restricted and the message was not easily comprehended. The major components that have lagged in my writing have been the ragged organization, poor grammar, and ineffective citation, however, I have improved with the help of the writing lab, writing feedback
As I chose to take this class and better my writing skills at a college level, I knew this class was going to be difficult. With a total of four essays to write I knew I had to be on my game from the beginning. Throughout durations of this class, I have learned how to become more responsible, plan ahead of time, and how to become a better writer. With each mistake made i have been able to learn and improve. During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the understanding I gained during this course. With every single writing assignment, I learned new innovative approaches and skills, which enhanced my abilities to improve my thoughts logically, enabling me to write more clearly, and to organize my papers more effectively. At the beginning of this semester; despite the fact that I already knew the terminology MAP: message, audience, purpose; I never really understood the significance of MAP. For this reason, my writing lacked clarity, organization, and my writings appeared less focused on the topics. As a result my research papers and essays did not flow as smoothly from one passage to the next. Furthermore, I was unaccustomed with the precise procedures used when writing an essay. For instance, my previous classes before college, although requiring a reference page, did not require me to include proper citations in my writings. After evaluating the quality of my writing toward the end of the semester, I recognized vast improvements in several areas of my writing. By concentrating on the beginning stages of my writings, I could distinguish ahead of time my audience and my message. As a result, my essays are clear, and I remain on topic. In addition to that using transition phrases efficiently also helps my writing to flow smoothly. The proper use of transitions makes my writings easy to follow from one topic to the next. I also learned that pre-writing...
Writing has been my most challenging requirement through school. I am not a very experienced writer. I was not required to write much in high school until my last semester. My last semester in high school, about a year and half ago, I took GENR-091 which is the last time I have written a paper longer than one page. That was my most recent writing class; I am rusty to say the least.
