My museum adventure was more than I expected it to be. I went to the Dallas Museum of Art. It was the first time in 8 years that I took the time to go to a Museum. I had a fun time in the museum and I got to see many different art types during my visit. My expectations going to the museum were set really low. However, after an hour in the museum I realized that some of my expectations were wrong. The first expectation I had of a museum is that it was a place where you can be loud, this expectation generates because the last time that I went to a museum I was only 7 years old. In addition, the last trip I did to a museum was with my school mates. Another expectation that I had about my visit to the museum was to watch just certain type of art. I used to believe that the museums only host certain type of art, and if you wanted to see for example some Impressionism art works, you needed to go to the Impressionism museum. My first reaction was of surprise when I enter the museum and everything was so quiet. I did not expected the museum to be that quiet, and that is because of the last experiences I have at museums. Another think that surprise me, is that with the knowledge that I have acquired in class and with the description that the image provide at the museum, I was able to understand the pieces of art or at least to relate my thoughts to the author’s thoughts. However, it was still hard for myself to relate my thoughts to some author’s ideas. In the other hand, I did not expect to be looking to many different types of art. I was surprised when I was looking at the many different collection that they have at the museum. I was especially surprised with the Latin American collection because I was born in Mexico and I could relate myself and my culture to that types of
