Most families take a yearly family vacation. Before, the trip to Florida was the best trip. The beaches had tan sand, there were people everywhere, the water was a dark blue and there were many stores to explore. The trip to Florida could not be beat by any other trip. Until the trip to Georgia was made. Georgia is the most memorable place because of the islands, the beaches, and the attractions. First, Georgia is the most memorable place because of the islands. The first Georgia Island was to Jekyll Island. Jekyll Island was not like normal islands, before entering a fee to open the gates were required, and every few miles there were signs that said “Watch for turtles crossing. If seen hitting one will be fined.” The island’s main attraction was the Sea Turtle Center. Here sea turtles that had been sick or harmed were brought back to health before returning to the sea. It was open to the public, and the turtles could be seen. Just like any rehabilitation center there were some turtles that were in there …show more content…
because they had little cold, some had been caught in litter and it caused the turtle to become entangled or sick, and some were in there because they had barnacles that were taking over there body. The second Georgia Island was Driftwood Island. On this island it was not as severely protected, a fee was not required to enter this island. Driftwood Island was known for its large pieces of driftwood that had washed up on shore. Some pieces were more than ten feet tall and were more than six feet wide. The third Georgia Island was St. Simons Island. To enter this island a fee was not required. On this island is where most people would swim, fish, and hang out. The best part of St. Simons Island was the sand dollars. Just about every time out on the beach one could find at least two sand dollars. Jekyll Island, Driftwood Island, and St. Simons Island of Georgia helped make the trip to Georgia the most memorable place. Second, Georgia is the most memorable place because of the beaches. When it comes to beaches most of them are the same; Georgia’s beaches were not the same though. The sand was almost snow white when the light would hit it, it would almost sparkle. The sand was clear of filth, there was not oil in the sand, and there was not trash laying around. The water was unbelievable; it was not the dark blue normal color of the water. Georgia’s ocean was a clear teal blue, the water was clean enough that the bottom of the ocean in the shallow water could be seen without any trouble. The people that were on the beach were very polite, and the beaches did not have an over flow of people. The sand, the water, and the people on the Georgia beaches helped make the trip to Georgia the most memorable. Third, Georgia is the most memorable place because of the attractions.
Georgia was a battle field for the Civil War. The light house was the first built and was used in the civil war; it is still used to this day for incoming ships, each ship will blow their horn 3 times in memorial. Today the light house is also used as a museum for tourist. The coast guard station that was used in the civil war is still standing, and is used as a museum for tourist to explore and see how the life of a costal guard was. In Georgia’s square was a park, within the park were actual pieces that were used in the civil was. For example, in the park there was an anchor that was used on one of the boats, a cannon that was used to help protect the shore from being invaded by enemies, and a dock was still standing that was used for a loading and unloading stations. The light house, the guard station, and the park memorial in Georgia helped make the trip to Georgia the most
memorable. In conclusion, the islands, the beaches, and the attractions made Georgia the most memorable place. Therefore, for many once they go on one vacation it becomes the nest. But not always is the first few place going to be the best. To find the best, most memorable place it may take some time. General Richard Sherman’s march to the sea has just finished. After successful capturing Atlanta, Georgia, General Sherman directed his Union army to Savannah, Georgia. Along the way, northerners wreaked havoc on Southern cotton mills and destroy train tracks while completely uprooting 20 percent of Georgian plantations. This effectively halted the Confederate’s means of transportation and economic structure subsequently w...
Growing up in Virginia was great. The house I lived in for the entirety of my life there, was right on the water. With this location, of course we had it all; boats, jet
Choosing a vacation destination can be difficult. When deciding a destination there are many things to consider. Two of the most important considerations are the climate, and activities that are available. California is one of the top destinations for many people. California is also known as the “Sunshine State”. The beautiful state has many things to offer for families, couples, and singles. The top places that are visited in Southern California include many amusements and popular site seeing. A few top places are Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Hollywood Boulevard, and Catalina Island. These are a few of the top attractions in Southern California. Ultimately where you choose to visit will be a personal choice.
Is it possible to need reasons to move to Florida? After all, the Sunshine State is hardly a backwater nor does it battle with nasty winter conditions. Still, if your boss comes to you and says he wants you to establish a new base in Fort Meyer or Kissimmee, you should seriously consider Florida and for the following 12 reasons.
In understanding how my worldview was subconsciously constructed by my life experiences from the past nineteen years, I had to first think about my roots. I was born in Tampa, Florida to a Puerto Rican mother and white father. They divorced when I was too young to remember, and while I did have a relationship with my dad, I lived with my mother and was raised in a tight-knit Puerto Rican family, often times being cared for by my grandmother. I was an only child for ten years which I’m sure has impacted my personality, and at ten I got a baby sister whom I am very close to. Growing up in Florida was interesting because I was half white and half Hispanic, which mirror the main demographics of Florida well, but I never quite fit in with either group because while I look very white and this is what people perceive me as, I was not raised by the white side of my family but rather the Puerto Rican side. Still, I don’t quite fit into this group either because I don’t speak perfect Spanish at home and most Hispanic people treat me as an “outgroup” and not one of them.
Vacationers have many options to choose for vacation. Key West is one of the best. People usually imagine going to some place different from others. Key West has much to offer and is a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Key West will be a memorable destination from its exciting attractions, delicious food, amazing weather, and beautiful
The Florida Everglades have been slowly and steadily diminishing in size for over many decades. Throughout the years, the Everglades have had an abundant, healthy environment. The massive swamps were once rich with marshland, and had ecosystems chock-full of wildlife. However, due to large corporations, natural disasters and most importantly, the growth of the human population, the Everglades are 50% smaller than they were hundreds of years ago. The destruction of the Florida Everglades includes not only a diminishing number of the marshland, but also the lessening of wild life, such as alligators, herons, and exotic plants. While there is a government plan set for the restoration of the everglades, it will take many years to make up for the
The Florida Everglades is one of the most diverse wetland ecosystems in the United States. These tropical wetlands span an area of more than seven hundred square miles in southern Florida. The term Everglade means river of grass. The system starts in central Florida near Orlando and travels southwest to the tip of Florida. The Everglades has a wet season and a dry season which causes a great change in hydrology. During the wet season the system is a slow moving river that is sixty miles wide and over a hundred miles long. During the dry season water levels drop and some areas will completely dry up. The Everglades has many different aquatic environments all having interdependent ecosystems. The most important factor for all these environments is water. It helps shape the land, vegetation, and all the organism that live in each area. Each environment has particular needs for the organisms living in that area. Throughout the years humans have diverted the water to fit their varying needs. The state has built dikes and levees, dug canals, and have built locks to divert the water. This has all been done to keep areas completely dry for developing and agricultural needs. Today, The Everglades is half the size of its original size. Throughout the years many restoration acts have been created and updated. The Everglades restoration projects have been the most expensive environmental repairs in The United States. This is because The Everglades is one of the three most important wetland areas in the world. The Everglades National Park is the home of thirty six protected species including the West Indian Manatee, the American Crocodile, and the Florida Panther. The Everglades also homes hundreds of species of birds, fish, mammals, and repti...
The longest I’ve ever lived in one place was the nine years that my family and I lived in
This marked the only chance Georgia had at becoming a free state, away from the tight grasps of the British, because they had the help of the French’s navy, superior weapons, and higher manpower. The Siege of Savannah was fought by the British on one side and the French troops and American Patriots on the other side. It was a Franco-American effort against the British, and the French played a major role in the war with General d’Estaing as one of their major generals, but his and the Patriots’ preparations and what went wrong in the battle made it a loss, which led to a chain of events that affected the entire war.
Moving to Murfreesboro has changed my life. I just picked up my stuff and moved with my best friend. I thought Murfreesboro was a town with a big college and lots of music. Little did I know that Murfreesboro was filled with history about the Civil War. I knew Murfreesboro had history, but I thought it was just about how the town got its name. As a requirement, I went to Stone River Battlefield, which was where the Civil War occurred. Even though it started as an assignment, I became very interested in learning further about Stone River Battle field. During my visit I learned so many exciting things, and being able to see it in person rather than hearing about it in class made it much more exciting for me to learn.
someday. It’s one of the biggest southern states in the USA. I have lived in Atlanta over 5 years, absolutely love it. Did you know Atlanta is the birth place of the Great Martin Luther King Jr? Also, Atlanta is known for the largest Aquarium in the US. Another thing that’s very interesting about Atlanta is that they are known for their Coca Cola Company.
South Carolina has amazing tourist attractions. A famous one is Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter is a seaport in Charlestown. It was the place of the first and third battle of the Civil War. Brookgreen Garden at Myrtle Beach has beautiful statutes and is a 5 star garden. It is also rated place in the Top 10 Gardens of the world. It has pathways to talk with friends, statues, and crystal clear water ponds and fountains. Patriots
As of Thursday, I had not watched a movie since the semester started. That changed this weekend, as I finally had some time to watch a movie many consider one of the best films of last year, Sean Baker’s “The Florida Project.” Those same people caused a stir after the film received a paltry one Oscar nomination. Consider me among those upset by the lack of nominations for this brilliant film.
First, the quality of environment is always the basic element when I decide to go on a vacation. I have been so many places in my life, but the most memorable place is Gulan...
