It was the middle of February when my family and I went to Disney World, and it was the best week ever. Big things happened, including going on rides that I was afraid to go on before, and turning 12 in Florida was a pretty big deal too, especially since it was my “Golden Birthday.” But my favorite part about this trip was when it started raining. It may not seem like a big deal, but it was really fun.
The best day started out by going down to the lobby of our hotel and eating at their free buffet for breakfast. They had a large variety of food, which included many tropical fruits, pancakes, a waffle maker, a create-your-own omelet station, and much more. The food was delicious. We ate a ton. My favorite thing to eat there was their waffles

with whipped cream on top, along with some fresh strawberries. It was the best. After breakfast, our adventure really began. We went shopping in a lot of different stores, one of the stores included the hotel gift shop, where I got a really nice Vera Bradley blanket, and it was really fuzzy. I got a ton of different things, like new purses, and new sunglasses. It was amazing. Then after shopping, we went to lunch at around noon, which was at a new Mexican place. Their food was amazing. I got 2 tacos, and they were delicious. My mom was stressed out for some reason, even though everything was going great. “Well this trip is fun, isn’t it mom?” I asked. She responded with rolling her eyes. She wasn’t being very nice. After we left the restaurant, we went back to shopping, and we got a bunch of new shoes, and new outfits too.
After we left one of the stores, it started to sprinkle a little, but not too much.
“We better get inside before it starts to poor.” My dad mumbled.
We rushed into the store that was closest to us, which we shopped at for a while. We were waiting for the rain to stop, but it didn’t so we moved to a different store, and by moved, I mean we sprinted to a different store so we didn’t get rained on. It was fun though.
In the next store, we picked out some things that we wanted, for example, I wanted a new phone case to remember our trip to Florida. I’m glad I didn’t because I ended up getting an iPhone 6 when I got home. Everything there was so expensive, but it was definitely worth it.
There were these coin machines that I found in almost every store. You put 2 quarters and 1 penny into the machine, and it turns the penny into a flattened penny with a design on it. It was pretty cool. I started to collect them, so now I have an entire book full of them. Now, whenever my mom and my dad go somewhere, they collect these and give them to me.
“Mom, I’ve been seeing these coin machines everywhere, what do they do? I want to try it and start collecting them!” I
exclaimed “Well it is something that you can put your penny into and it will turn it into something new, like a whole new coin, except it has a cool design on it.” My mom explained. “Uh, yeah I guess that’s pretty cool, but not my style.” My sister joined in. I loved collecting these, so everywhere I went, I got something new. We quickly ran to a starbucks, where we each got something. My dad was busy on the phone calling a taxi, so we just sat there, under an umbrella. “C’mon let's run to the entrance! The taxi is on their way. Don’t slip and fall!” My dad yelled. We made it to the taxi, even though we were all soaked. I remember making it safely back to the hotel, and we all showered right after. I have so many memories from this trip. My all time favorite day was when it started to rain while we were shopping, and I learned something new, and I got to collect these really cool things that I haven’t seen before. I would definitely call this the best day ever. But, I will never have that experience again, because that was the last trip to Disney World.
Disney world, Paris, Australia, Italy; all amazing places I’m sure, but I’ve never been. Although there is one place I have been to; it was none other than Blackpool Pleasure Beach!
rainstorm, and was positive one was coming. The wind started to howl, so strong that it
The weather that day wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. It was gloomy and it would drizzle once in a while. I enjoyed the drive up to LA, even with a little rain. It took us about an hour and 50mins. We left around 1:00 pm and arrived around 2:50pm. The good thing about the drive was that we didn’t get lost. The only bad part was the traffic. We both expected to get traffic but not as bad.
The next day we had pancakes that the hotel gives for breakfast. That was the best food I have had since the vacation has started. My family and I went to the beach right after that. The water was still cold, so I had to play with the sand. Instead of building a sand castle, I built a set of tunnel and stuff underground. Then, my little brother came and jumped on the tunnels and all of it fell down.
Our first stop was at “Del Mia Casa” restaurant , I was starving since I didn’t dine on the fine cuisine that the airline offered. The smell outside tantalised our taste buds and we just couldn’t wait to eat.
I was so excited to sleep in the hotels, my parents and I found one with a pool and hot tub. We went to Duck Commander the next day and bought
Working incessantly for numerous hours a week, tending to the children, preparing healthy meals, and trying to remain a normal human being often takes a toll on many of us. Vacation time allows us to unwind, have fun, create everlasting memories, and remove ourselves from the stressors of everyday life that tend to exhaust us. Many vacation destinations are home to amusement parks that compete to receive your hard earned cash, but the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida is the location of the finest theme parks in the world. Walt Disney World is home to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios that provide high quality attractions, unbelieveable character experiences, signature fine dining, and outstanding cast members
Everyone who has ever been to Disney World thinks it’s going to be the vacation of a lifetime but when we went it was the vacation from Hell!
It was the week of my daughter’s birthday, when the winds of hurricane Wilma landed close to the area where we lived. My husband was in California, and I was alone
I stood in the town square of the small village. Like any other normal day, people were going about their day-to-day business. Old men sat on a wooden bench beneath a large tree and predicted this year’s crop. Women shared town gossip as they shopped for groceries, and children sucked on lollipops while they played along the cobblestone streets. However, unlike any other day, the whole crowd had stopped in unison and darted their eyes in my direction, their full attention on me. I heard hushed whispers as I passed by the crowd, “Americano!” “Oh mio Dio, guarda com’è alto!” I lowered my head as I thought to myself, “What the hell am I doing here? I’m in a country where I don’t know the language or the culture, and I have another nine and a half months until I go home!” I didn’t know it then, but those nine and a half months that lay in front of me would be the experience that would challenge my views and goals and help shape the person I am today.
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
I’m on a muddy, yellow bus coming back from camp. I'm twelve and so are you. Prior to leaving for camp, I had imagined it would be just me and three, maybe four, other boys that I hadn't met yet, running around all summer, getting ourselves into trouble. Playing games and just enjoying our summer. You know, typical boy stuff. Ultimately it ended up being me and this one girl. That's you. As long as we are still on the bus its like we are still at camp. Once we reach the pickup point where our parents would be waiting for us camp will be over.
Our first trip was to Costco. I like going on a weekday because It 's not super busy. My husband still parked far from the entrance so we can have space to move around.
Unfortunately, it was a dark and cold rainy day which made it difficult with the rain soaking our clothes and all of our equipment. But aside from that, the rain didn’t seem to bother me or anyone else for that matter. Instead we had a slight appreciation for the rain, as if it was mimicking the melancholy feeling that we felt. It always seemed as if our camping trip couldn’t come soon enough, and then when it finally did arrive it was as if it was gone too soon. As the rain started to pour down we loaded everything in the car as fast as we could and we gathered ourselves inside. We watched out the back window as we drove away from the campground, seeing it dissipate in the distance. On our ride home we all felt a little nostalgic and talked about favorite memories of the trip and what we’d do next year. The drive was about 3 hours away from our house and somewhere along the way I fell asleep on Alicia’s shoulder while listening to Taylor Swift. I remember feeling as if I was still drifting in the soft waves of the water, and the thought of that relaxed me into a peaceful sleep. When I finally arrived at home I rushed into the living room where my parents were waiting on the couch to hear all about the awesome experiences I had on my trip. After that I went into my room to call Alicia, and we stayed on the phone with each other while we marked our calendars together to begin the countdown for our camping trip next
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
