Ever since I was a child I have had a particular interest in dance. I wanted to learn Bharatanatyam, a form of Indian classical dance which involves complex movements requiring plenty of hand-eye-foot coordination and allowed me to relate to my cultural origin. At age seven, I started my amazing journey of learning this pure dance form from my teacher. The passion I had for dance was what drove me to master the techniques and complete my graduation performance known as Arangetram.
An Arangetram is a solo debut on stage that takes special one on one training prior to the event. In my case, I had a year of this special training. I had to build up the stamina to dance on stage for over one and a half hours and perfect my technique. The practices were very intense and three months prior to the event, I had to practice daily. When I started practicing daily, I also started a diet consisting of only healthy foods to help increase my stamina and be healthy. For a whole year I basically lived for this event. In the end, all my hard work paid off when the overall performance went well. Look...
In Aristotle 's Nicomachean Ethics, the basic idea of virtue ethics is established. The most important points are that every action and decision that humans make is aimed at achieving the good or as Aristotle 's writes, “Every art and every inquiry, and similarly every action and choice, is thought to aim at the good... (Aristotle 1094a). Aristotle further explains that this good aimed for is happiness.
and in front of the whole school during spirit week and international week, without a bit of apprehension. Gaining this confidence was and is the key to victories in dance competitions. Confidence and my familiarity with a variety of dance forms such as hip-hop, jazz, and several Indian classical dances can be credited to my winning first place in a memorable competition, where, for the first time, my two friends and I choreographed the dance piece that we performed. This experience also helped as the same friends and I had 2 weeks to choreograph, perfect, and perform alongside a famous Indian singer as he sang live. These values specifically pushed me advance further into the art form, and were also extremely useful outside of the dance
What is time? Is time travel possible? When nothing is changing does time still exits ? Is that really true? Are you real? Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that is significant to us when questions and other clams bring curiosity about whether things are real or not.
desire. I've learned why they become dancers, what it is like to be one, and more importantly to view them as a worker from my sources and by doing this project.
Practicing three times a week for three hours was rough for the first few weeks, considering I was a beginner, but I didn't let that intimidate me, and so I continued. Making new friends, learning more about my Mexican culture, and boosting my confidence - all of these were areas that I had struggled with, but little by little, dance helped me accomplish such positive effects. With all the dedication I had since elementary school, I learned all the routines for our performance that would occur on December 12th.
Since the age of two, I have been dancing. I have been involved in lyrical and classical ballet, contemporary, pointe, hiphop, jazz and tap. When I turned 6 I also took up gymnastics. Through middle school I danced, and did gymanstics as well as softball and soccer. I loved these sports but when high school hit, I had to pick one and I chose cheerleading. I chose this sport because it was not only a extraordinary team athletically but they were extremely involved with the community. We had fundraisers for less fortunate children multiple times and even got to interact with them every winter. The leadership role on the cheer team taught me so much, we lead the entire student body to have school spirit and respect at the football games every friday night. My senior year I decided to switch back to dance and tried out for my high school dance team, and made it! It has been such a blessing to me by showing me even more leadership and how to serve others at our school and in the community.
When I was about four or five years old, I was introduced to Ballet. I adored being a little ballerina and would read the same dance booklet everyday, practicing the five positions and gracefully positioning my tiny arms and fingers to match the little girl in the illustrations. Because I loved dance so much, my mother enrolled me in Donna Hammond-Phelps
The typical idea of a dancer is that they are tall, slender, full of energy, and lucky because they dance with all of the “stars”. Much of this is true, however, what many people do not think of are the many hardships that a dancer goes through in order to achieve their high status in the dance world. It takes much hard work and determination along with good direction to become a dancer. However, nothing good comes without a price. Dancers often times have many pressures put on them which can lead to physical and emotional damages. These damages occur through the pressures from the media, parents, teammates, and the stereotype that society has placed on dancers.

Scientists observe that time travel is a phenomenon that all of humanity experiences. To illustrate, I have moved forward from last year and so have others. Everyone travels through time at a rate of one hour per hour. The true question behind the time travel conundrum is if we can travel faster or slower than the normal rate of one per hour. One of the greatest minds of the 20th century, Albert Einstein, developed a theory to explain time. The Special Relativity theory posits that space and time are sides of the same coin: space-time. The speed limit of all things that travel through the space-time continuum is 186,000 miles per second or 300,000 kilometres per hour. Light travels at the speed limit in an empty space. The theory goes on to say that as an object travels through space-time relative to
People have often thought of going back in time because of regrets or mistakes they want to fix in the past. The only way to go to the past is time travel there. Time travel has been know as science fiction but now scientist have been believing time travel is possible based on the physics laws. If time travel is possible, then will it be helpful for human begins to go back to the past. Time travel can’t be worth it because if you change something in the past, it will affect a lot in your future. The people you thought you knew may not be the same people in the future because you change something in the past. There are different theories stating on that there may be parallel universe and other versions of us.
Preparing for competition is easier said than done, you need a passion to complete the task. Competition is extremely stressful, but amazing at the same time. It?s a process of mixed emotions, not knowing if it?s importance will have a meaning in the end. Having practice six times a week allows us to work on our jumps, cheers, dances, tumbling, and the most difficult, stunting. Just the counts and lifting people in the air is traumatic enough, but repeating it over and over again it gets strenuous. Dancing is relaxing when you have counts to them, but when you have to learn the dance to the music people get confused and don?t know when to leave to the next formation. Team members start getting fed up with each other at the closing stages of practice, it?s just a natural human reaction after practicing with the same fifteen to twenty girls for three hours.
Others have noted that we're all travelling forward in time (in fact, the theory relativity says that we are all travelling at the speed of light through spacetime) so I'll tackle the travelling-backward-in-time part of the question. And that breaks down into issues of whether backwards time travel is a theoretical possibility, and whether it's a practical one.
This paper is supposed to be a reflection of my past and a glimpse into my future. I have a really hard time talking about my past because I don’t recall much of my child hood. I have managed to block out a lot of the memories the bad along with the good. I am not sure why but when I started blocking memories it also took the good along with the bad. So I will tell you what I can remember and what I have been told about my childhood. I will also tell you what my future holds for me and how I plan to reach that goal.
