I have chosen social work as a profession because of my passion to help others. I want to make a difference in someone’s life and help them through the problems they are having. Whether the client needs counseling, guidance, or advocacy I want to be the person to help them. My drive for helping others and motivation to change social policies for the better is why I have chosen social work as my future profession.

When I took the self-assessment test I got one personality type as my highest of all six personality types . The personality type that I scored the highest was social, and it matches perfect with the kind of work I envision doing it in my future. I was not surprised when I got the highest in social because I think this is how friends and loved one’s see myself when I am around them. For instance, they describe as me as a person who value helping others even if I have to go out my way to provide others with what they need. Friends, and close ones always says that I am a caring person who listen and take people’s problems very seriously. Something else that they about myself is that I am good at giving people advice or direct them to the right path. As an upcoming social worker I understand there are certain traits I portray that are strengths in the social work field. I also understand that were there are strengths, there are weaknesses. I did not realize what my strengths and weaknesses were until I began to practice in the field. Some strengths I have found in myself are good listening skills, ability to handle stressful situations, and time management skills. Along with those strengths I have found my weaknesses are speaking what I believe about a situation, procrastination, and taking on too much responsibility.

As I explored potential careers for myself, I narrowed it down to two career choices: a lawyer and a public relations and fundraising manager. After further research, I decided that the best career for me will be a public relations and fundraising manager because I am passionate about planning events and helping people, I possess characteristics vital for the career, and I am good at public speaking and writing.
My interest in social work stems from a love of volunteering that I possessed ever since I was a young child expressing great enthusiasm for church and school service events. As I grew older, I began volunteering for many other community events, such as serving over 200 hours at a local hospital, helping with free cancer screenings, and fitting children with free bike helmets. I even created my own donation drive for a local women’s and children’s shelter. I feel the best when I am striving to create positive changes in my community and for struggling, marginalized individuals. Social services have been a part of my life for a very long time, and I want it to continue to be on a professional level.

Preparation for the future is key to dealing with a changing workplace. The job analysis should integrate issues the organization may confront in the future, such as turnover and technology advances that could change its structure. 3. Forecasting HR needs is critical to the success of the organization. These should be assessed with past trends, evaluating the skills of incumbent positions, and being aware of changing skills and requirements. Some questions/activities regarding job analysis: A class activity would be a case study that involves a new person hired into an organization where a job analysis is not utilized. The following questions serve as a guideline for the types of issues that could arise without a clear job analysis.
The personal qualities that I equip for the social work profession is the ability to work effectively with people from diverse populations. I was born and raised in a community composed of diverse populations which has given the training/knowledge to become a social worker. During the internship and the volunteering, I learn to be empathy with other people. I have what I takes to be a social worker because I want to help
My passion for consulting began last year. There was something in consulting that I hadn’t found in other careers. The unique challenges and need to think creatively to solve problems is exciting. Consulting just “clicks” for me. I know that I found exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life.
