I began my soccer career at age three when my mom and dad introduced me to the sport. My dad played it growing up and throughout high school, so they felt I might enjoy the sport. I immediately excelled at soccer and found a love for the game. I enjoyed the running, the fast pace and the thrill of scoring goals. I played co-ed, then moved to recreation soccer until age nine with Hoover Soccer Club. My parents and I discussed competitive soccer, thus at age ten I decided to change clubs and tryout at Vestavia Hills Soccer Club (VHSC). This decision turned out to be a catalyst in my club career. I made the team and began my eight-year competitive career with the Attack 99 Black squad. Our team found success and team chemistry early on …show more content…
It could be said that we were the club’s most successful girls’ team they’ve ever fielded! It was a tremendous run for our team, coaches and parents. My soccer career was not without hardship and injury. During an out of town Region III game my freshman year of high school, I tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in my right knee. I was fortunate to be seen at Andrews Sports Medicine and Dr. Lyle Cain performed my ACL reconstructive surgery. After surgery and six months of exhaustive physical therapy, I was cleared to play and resumed playing soccer. Almost two years to the day, while playing in a tournament in South Carolina, I unfortunately tore the ACL and both meniscus in my left knee. Once again Dr. Cain performed a successful ACL reconstructive surgery. I endured another six months of physical therapy and returned to the soccer field. Having experienced the same injury, I was focused and determined to work even harder since I planned to play at an elite level again. Currently, I am now leading my high school team as a senior and 100% healthy. Experiencing these two injuries challenged me both physically and mentally, but taught me that hard work, perseverance and determination will help you
From an early age I always knew I would be playing soccer my whole life. My dad showed me the ropes of how to play and got me interested right away. By the age of three I had started playing, and to this day I have not stopped. Soccer has been a huge part of my life and I don’t know where I would be today if I never played. I met some amazing people playing soccer including my coaches who encouraged me and told me never to give up as well as my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me.
Amanda was in her sophomore year of soccer season when she heard the pop of her knee that cut her season short. The next thing she knew she was at the doctor’s who told her she had an ACL tear, and wasn’t sure if she could play again. From there it was boiled down to two options. One to re-strengthen her knee through rehabilitation, physical therapy and bracing, or to undergo an ACL reconstruction surgery. Although it is costly and some may consider it frivolous, those who have encountered ACL tears should receive the reconstruction surgery instead of attending rehabilitation for the damage to their knee, because it dramatically lessens the chances of meniscal injuries and osteoarthritis occurring later and allows the patient to return back to their sport or physical activity with better knee mobility and less pain in a timely manner.
There were several factors that played into why I chose to attend Truett-McConnell. I have played soccer since I was five years old and ever since I started I had a dream to play college soccer. My dream was to play soccer at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. My aunts, uncles, both grandparents, mom, dad, and now older brother have all attended Samford. Going there would have been fantastic but God had other plans for me.
I played soccer since I was seven, as of the last few years I played at a very high level. I have represented Ohio South two times at a regional showcase, I have been invited to participate in a camp in Manchester, England and attended the camp twice. Also last Season for the Newark High School soccer team I was named first team all league and third team all central district. Soccer was the first sport I truly loved to do, I wanted to be the best. I work hours upon hours to master whatever part of the game I wanted to improve on. Soccer has taught me to have a great work ethic, and that mentality came when I was cut from the state team the first time I tried out. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I was destroyed, and I thought I was not good but I knew I could do better. The next year I worked, I got bigger, stronger, faster, my soccer I.Q. was higher;therefore, overall I was a much better player. The result of that work, was that I made the team, but not only, I made the starting line up. After that I knew I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
I have played soccer my entire life. At twelve years old, I completed a Bryst soccer camp after which I decided that I wanted to play at a higher level than house league. My goal was to make a Bryst Academy team.
Our book defines a group as a collection of people who are perceived to bond together in a coherent unit to some degree (Baron 241). Making a decision isn’t always easy depending on how many people are in the group and if there is any conflict within the group. The basic aspects of a group include roles, status, norms and cohesiveness but when viewing my soccer team I see only certain obvious aspects being present. When thinking about the process in which we, as a group have to make the decision of where to stop for food after an away game, it is obvious that many theories and/or topics can be applied. These theories or topics include evaluation apprehension, social decision schemas, authentic dissent and conflict. The four subjects listed above help explain how a group can come to a decision together.
A defining moment in my life was when I decided that I wanted to be an athletic trainer when I grow up. I knew I wanted to be athletic trainer because I want to stay in the athletic field once I finish my athletic career. For me there is no better job than one that I can interact with athletes on a daily basis and help them prevent injuries. Knowing my career path early helped me lay out my academic goals, this also brought up some challenges.
Soccer has always been my passion. I started to play when I was in second grade. I have played continuously and am now a captain of the Suttons Bay Lady Norsemen. We are a high school cooperative team consisting of players from Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport. This is our fourth year of existence and we worked hard to establish our team and its killer reputation. The part that I am most proud of is that I was among a group of girls that helped convince the Suttons Bay School Board that our high school should establish a girls' high school team. We asked to be put on the board's agenda and prepared a persuasive presentation outlining the reasons that girls at Suttons Bay High School deserved their own team. We knew that money was not available to fund the team, so we promised to find it ourselves. The Board approved our team in the spring of 1997. Our team members and parents spent long hours in fundraising to pay for our uniforms, equipment, transportation, referees and coaches.
Soccer is a universal sport that is called “The Beautiful Game” Because of its quickness and the ability of the players to take on players, one after another, and the thrill that comes with it. This sport has adapted since it’s existence because as humans, it wouldn’t survive or be as popular as it is right now. As it has adapted tactically speaking, FIFA (which is the governing body of world soccer organization) has also changed in its regulations so that the game could be safer to play and so every team could have a fair advantage as any other team. FIFA has created stricter punishments to clubs and players as well so that they can reduce racism, player’s actions in and out of the field, and disciplinary precautions for players and coaches.
Running as fast as I can, all I am focused on is the white and black ball rolling hurriedly in front of me along the freshly cut green grass. I see a red jersey running towards me, preparing myself to get past her I consider how many people are counting on me. I look up for a teammate, then decide to go for a one-two. We succeed on our one-two touch and now we are headed for the goal. I chop defenders one by one using my speed to get past them, but always focusing, never getting too cocky about the skills I have gained in the past.
When I grow up I will become a soccer player. I will become this because I really love the sport. I have played for soccer for seven years and I don’t plan to quit. I play as a forward on a select soccer team named the St. Louis Prospects.
The Passion for Soccer in Brazil and Argentina Can Be a Nightmare When the world talks about soccer we tend to analyze that it can be a boring game to a lot of people. This is because the people who does not enjoy the sport likes to think that it is a very simple game in passing the ball to one another and the players tends to drop themselves and call it a foul as if it was something severe. It is a game that usually lasts 90 minutes but sometimes it goes beyond 120 minutes for a full game. What most people does not know is that soccer can be considered to be the most violent game in the world.
Three year ago, I was starting to playing soccer in the Japanese soccer team. My dad always comes with me to play soccer. Then I always decided to play soccer school and go practice every weekend to that soccer team. So, my favorite part of day is playing soccer with my friend in soccer flied or I was playing myself. My hobby is playing soccer with my brother.
I 've played soccer my whole life since I was three and have loved it every single year. I played on a non-comp team for the longest time which was a bad idea coming into high school ball. When I got to high school soccer everything changed. Soccer was so much different. I remember my first game first play i had the ball I got hit and i looked at my dad and he kinda shrugged. It took alot to learn how to play at this new level. I worked hard through freshman, sophomore, and junior year. Then came senior year. The season came around and my coach, coach fletcher, had big expectations for me. I suffered through soccer conditioning and lost a few pounds from it. But i 'm getting ahead of myself. the spring season before school ball was my biggest nightmare. I started out the season good. had a goal. But then it happened, I broke my collarbone, again. This time was my worst time yet. I was put as foward to let our forwards have a break. I don 't usually play here. I started out the half with a few opportunities but then the perfect ball was sent over by my defender. He sent the ball over and I took off. I ran as fast as lightning after that ball. I brought my foot back to take a shot and BAM!! I got hit with a shoulder from behind. I fell and felt a snap. I broke my collar bone for the 4th time. So I had to miss out on the rest of the season that spring. I came back for school ball and
