In an ideal world, the classroom would be tidy and ordered. Everything would have its proper place. The children’s desk stay organized and in straight rows. Pencil shavings and paper edges are never on the floor, and there would be order to every task we do. However, this is not an ideal world, and the classroom will be chaotic at times. The classroom will have procedures done daily as a routine. The children will pick up after themselves. By guiding the students in the classroom to be respectful of their belongings and other’s belongings as well. A great way to show respect for your things is to keep your area tidy. My student should develop their mind outside the box to come up with new and refreshing ideas. My students need to be able to keep the information given them and use it to better themselves. The information I give them should be relatable to something in their lives to helping them retain the information. I hope students are excited about coming to my class. I want to show my students compassion and how to reflect on themselves.
The classroom will not be a boring place full of busy work. There will be busy work, homework and of course reading and writing. At times, it will be very tedious, but there also be times of fun and socializing. I will not be the only one teaching my class. My children will teach me as well. I will inform the parents of my students of what specifically is going on in our classroom during any part of the day. I will graciously accept any criticism or ideas the parents give me. I will learn from any blunders that are made and apply those lessons in my classroom to prevent myself from making them again. Learning from the errors of previous teachers before me have made and use their true and tried techniques. I will incorporate as many hands on activities I can possibly imagine, to better the minds of my young students. I would adore knowing that all my students look forward to coming to school because they enjoy my classes, and want to learn what I have to teach. Democratic societies are were the people are involved in the decision making of the government and have representation. In Thomas Paine’s Thoughts on the Present State of American Affairs, Paine desired for the colonies to go to war against Britain to gain independence, while having the feeling that Britain was exploiting the colonies. Paine explains the disadvantages of the colonies being connected with Britain. In Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Divinity School Address he brings forth a moral argument. He discusses the relationship between man, soul, God, and the church. In Henry David Thoreau’ On the Duty of Civil Disobedience, Henry believes in the act of civil disobedience, in which man does not need the government as much as they think they do. Henry promotes the idea of individuality, in which man could do better than the government in various situations. Thomas Paine, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry David Thoreau, were American writers who generated their own ideas of an ideal American society, where people have involvement with the government or church.
*As with designing the room, teaching materials are best used when they’re easiest to access. I kept my teaching tools close at hand at the areas they were used and additional things were kept on top of the kids’ cubbies so all teachers knew where they could find them if they needed them.

It took a bit of thought to come up with something that I could change about myself in this project. I do not mean there are not things to change, there definitely are. But, I find myself usually catering to my family when it comes to my behavior, their wants and needs. I decided to try to make my mornings more efficient with the way I start the day because that usually is the only time I have to myself. I chose to drink more water and do yoga each morning to center myself. I was hoping that by doing so would also help with weight loss without focusing strictly on that.
In my class, we respect ourselves and take care of one another. I will encourage my students to try their personal best in every situation they find themselves in. I will remind students that your personal best effort does not look like your neighbors. I will structure my classroom environment so students can easily collaborate and form positive relationships with one another. The structure of my classroom environment will be full of warmth, patience, and humor creating an environment that is welcoming, safe, and fun for my students. We will look out for another and help one another reach our fullest potential individually, academically, and socially.
The physical layout in this classroom consists of the students’ desks in small groups around the classroom and three small group tables at the front of the room, side of the room, and back of the room. There are also cabinets up againt the walls and drawers in the counter in the back of the room. They have the alphabet twice on the wall and numbers one through twenty on the wall, along with pictures that show each number. The room is not very colorful because it is a bluish white color, but the things on the wall make it more comfortable. There is a master schedule on the wall as well. The services of the economy, smithing, carpentry, clothmaking, etc., are mainly produced in the cities. Iron is the only resource which must be imported abundantly. All of the resources, except iron, that the nation requires, it produces on its own.
In my first years of teaching I plan to get a better understanding of my school community and the surrounding community, so I know where and how to get support for my students. I plan on attending trainings to keep up with the various concepts and principles that I will have to follow when teaching. I will also need to develop deeper understandings of adolescent development which will help when I am teaching to see changes in behavior and understanding and how it relates to each individual student. As a long term goal I will build relationships with fellow teachers to provide them support and learn together to become a team of advocates for our students. I know that it is up to me to grow and continue learning all that I can to provide my students the best learning experience possible.

Carefully planned and constructed learning environment will also allow the teacher more time to meet the individual needs of each student. Another important factor to a well-prepared learning environment is to facilitate learning, and providing students with balance and consistency (2004). Young students require a balance between various classroom dimensions, including activities guided by the teacher and independent work, quiet work and active work, gross motor and fine motor activities, and open and closed aspects to the curriculum and classroom materials (2004). Consistency is also a required condition for learner success. Schedules (daily and weekly), the enforcement of classroom rules, and student expectations should not be in flux but remain consistent. Jones describes routines as operational rules. Jones says, “Operational rules must be specified to provide for smooth operations, which include materials to use, when to sharpen pencils, get a drink, go to the bathroom, how to get help and how the class is dismissed” (Allen, 1998). An effective way of establishing routines would be considering each and every minute detail of classroom activities. Children should know the importance of rules and routines in the classroom and it is a teacher’s responsibility to teach them (Canter &Canter, 1992).

Human beings are in constant pursuit of their basic necessities and they are without limits to what they will do to obtain them. Since humans are individualistically driven, the ultimate desires are ones for pleasure, comfort, and contact. These can usually be found in the limits of a community environment. Our desires cross paths, since the desire of sensual experiences and close human contact in the form of community correspond with the desire for individualistic advancement and success. Competition causes holes within society, and gives rise to upper and lower classes. This causes the gap between the rich and those living in means of poverty. My classroom management starts with a well-organized, clearly labeled classroom layout so that my students can easily access the resources they need for my class. I display visual aids and reminders around the room to support the students and I display their work in specific places around the room to give them a sense of belonging. I create routines and procedures to support the students and enable them to form smooth transitions between activities. There is a certain way they enter and leave the classroom, distribute books and papers, and move their desks and chairs. In my classroom these mundane tasks are completed quickly, competitively, and with enthusiasm. Having routines in place helps students understand exactly what is expected of them and gives them confidence in their actions.
As a future educator, I have many goals. My first goal would be to never overpower my students. Being a teacher should not be a job, it should be a passion. Discipline plays a key part in education. Respect from your students will make the classroom a better atmosphere. Rules should be established on the first day.
