My Perspective on the Future of Education
The future in education is very interesting as well as vital to me since I plan to be a teacher in the future. Many changes will be made before I enter the field of teaching. Most all of these changes will be positive and will help me to become a better teacher. The future of education will be changed completely with the help of new technology.
Already education has changed thanks to technology. We now see computers in every class. In the future most classes will be totally taught through computers. New programs and software will be available that are interactive with the students as well as informative. Having classes through the internet will open up a large diversity of classes to choose since the whole world will have their classes available online. So students will be exposed to new areas of learning they may have once not had a chance to experience. However since the Web will be teaching the students what will the teachers do? Actually teachers will actually have the time to play the role they always pictured themselves...
Flappers were not just spunky young rebellious woman who tried to defy there mother’s traditions and cause an uproar in society. Her bluntness about sexuality created a new emotional and sexual culture for women. It also created a new foundation for male and female courtship. They showed women around the world that being submissive could only harm the remarkable female. The flappers created a new youth identity.
... They provided the accepting of women to do want they want including: dressing to their own style, living on their own, acting the way they want and working for any job they want. Flappers may have caused issues in the past, but without these ladies women would still be stuck in the past with long clothes, household jobs, taking care of children and sexist views from men.
The changes of all of these characters was highly important in terms of the plot of the movie. The film shows how all these completely different people changed so they could come together and fight for a cause that they all believed in, and it shows how they underwent that change. This shows us how it is possible for people to come together, no matter how different they are, and fight as one for a cause they all truly believe in.
Some women of the 1920s rebelled against being traditional. These women became known as flappers and impacted the post-war society. People in the 1920’s couldn’t make up their minds about flappers. Some were against them and some were with them. Therefore, some people in the 1920’s loved and idolized flappers, I on the other hand, believed that they were a disgrace to society. These women broke many rules leading young women to rebel against their families.
“They were smart and sophisticated, with an air of independence about them, and so casual about their looks and clothes and manners as to be almost slapdash. I don't know if I realized as soon as I began seeing them that they represented the wave of the future, but I do know I was drawn to them. I shared their restlessness, understood their determination to free themselves of the Victorian shackles of the pre-World War I era and find out for themselves what life was all about.” Colleen Moore captured the essence of women in the 1920’s astonishingly. Many women found life tedious, dull, and boring, so they decided to make a change. These women were generally known as “flappers.” Flappers were young women who flouted the everyday standards of women. With their new style, behavior, and political views, it was clear that this was the new age of women.
Overall, I think that “The Fault in Our Stars” was an amazing yet horribly heartbreaking book. There were so many moments where tears leaked out, as well as moments where I had to just simply laugh. The book was quite emotional,
Margaret Thatcher became the first female Prime Minister in 1979 when the Conservatives won the general election. However; Thatcher was not the most popular politician of her time. Before 1982 according to sources, “No British leader in recent times had been so unpopular” (Garfinkel, 1985) Before 1982 she had very little support, even from her own Party, the idea Of Thatcher ever leading her party to an election win seemed nearly impossible. (Garfinkel, 1985)
Modern day women are not wearing corsets dresses as they did in the past generation, now there are woman with short shorts, miniskirts, and haircuts are different and short, the flappers back in the 1920’s reflect the women now. Ever since the flappers trended there new styles they made a huge impact on the world till this day. Often time’s flappers would go to parties and get drunk, flappers would select a man to go home with and have sexual intercourse with as well. Flappers were also a name for prostitutes back in 1920. Flappers had a strange way of dressing. These young women showed their skin, and had short hair. Even though these women were deliberately out of control, they made a huge impact on the world now. The impact is that they got to do what most women couldn’t do, for example they could not vote or do anything else. The number of working class of women increased by 25 percent, they got the right to vote, and they also became more independent. There dress styles’ and their impact on the world was significant to many b...
The first three labors that Heracles’s performed includes; Slaying the Nemean Lion, Slaying the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra, and Capture the Golden Hind of Artemis. “The first task that Eurystheus gave Heracles was to destroy the Nemean lion.” (Page 121) This creature, who was brought to the land of Nemea by Hera, could not be killed by anything because of its golden fur. Heracles brought along arrows and a club to use to slay the creature. “Realizing no weapon could kill this monster, he rid himself of them and fought the monster with his bare hands.” (The Twelve Labors) The only way for Heracles to kill the Nemean Lion was to wrestle it death. He was able to grip the lion between his arms and choke it to death. After succeeding in killing the beast, Heracles brought back the dead body of the Nemean Lion to Eurystheus. “Eurystheus now sent Heracles on a more tricky mission, to kill the Hydra of Lerna.” (Page 123) The hydra was a powerful, nine-headed water snake that had a poisonous breath. The hard part of this task was that the hydra had only on...
At the start of the 1920’s, women had recently won the fight for their suffrage. However, with this new sense of freedom, the younger female generation desired more spontaneity and fun compared to the previous group of liberated women. The fun they enjoyed came in the form of being a 1920’s flapper. During the day, many women partook in conventional occupations, but when the sun went down, many transformed into the iconic flapper and enjoyed the active nightlife of the city (ushistory.org, n.d.). Although it was amusing to behave radically, flappers also desired to change societal views. They
Margaret Thatcher was given the title “Iron Lady” for her audacity, spirit and willpower to bring about change to the nation. In 1961, after taking on just two years in parliament, Margaret became a Junior Minister. Once becoming Prime Mister, Margret took on many more issues. Her everyday battle was with the men who seemed to not take her seriously, based on her sex. At the time,...
...e to expand his reading and became familiar with philosophical writers and British poets. Spanish was the next culture he immersed himself in. This immersion was made possible through a meeting with a famous Cuban poet. After this meeting Bryant began to learn the Spanish language and broaden his knowledge of Spanish Literature. He was soon fluent enough in the Spanish language that he was able to translate Spanish poems into English. Eventually Bryant’s own poems, “Thanatopsis” and “To A Waterfowl” were translated into Spanish and published in Spain. Bryant’s interest in the Spanish literature and the Spanish culture and history remained constant over many decades but was the most intense early in his career. Bryant’s interest in all of these different cultures and languages helped expand his knowledge and only made his writing better as he now had worldly views.
In an age of rapid change due to so many technology and innovative advances, a revolutionary change in the educational system is as vital as what our next energy source is. Education is the most powerful wealth in the world and it demands more attention, and where better to start with than out youth. The school system will soon go out of date due to the information highway and information availability if there isn?t a dramatic change in the way things are run in our domestic institutional facilities. The reason why college was such a success in the 20th century was because books were all of a sudden available to students on university campus. Now with internet, a student could specialize their profession solely with the computer with the click of a button. Something needs to be done to smoothen the rigid gaps and cracks in the school system before the technological pace at which we are advancing decides to bring the whole thing down.
During the winter of 1978-79, leader of the Labour party, James Callaghan was unable to successfully control the actions of trade unions and discrediting the Labour party as a whole. Thatcher used this opportunity to restore Conservative power and become the first woman prime minister (Hartley, Anthony. "After the Thatcher Decade.). Throughout her first ministry Thatcher established the economic and social policies that would dominate her entire reign as prime minister and eventually form what is known as Thatcherism. At the time Britain faced severe economic difficulties in the form of high inflation and unemployment. Countering these problems was Thatcher's primary concern. In order to reduce inflation Thatcher raised interests rate, however this led to disapproval from her own party as it damaged industry and increased unemployment. Furthermore, Thatcher created a plan which raised taxes during a recession which would further damage the economy (Pearce, Matt). Margaret Thatcher's approval ratings had hit a low and most conservatives did not support her for another term. However, Thatcher's actions during the Falklands War of 1982 restored moral and guaranteed her to be reelected prime minister. Despite the risk, Thatcher sent naval ships to the Falkland to forcibly retake them from the Argentina. Britain's success against Argentina
