I’ve always struggled with my personality, between who I am and who I actually want to be. For example, I view myself as extroverted, but most people would say I am very introverted. As i look at my “Big Five” personality results, I have to say I agree with most of them. This test rated me as being low to open-mindedness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and negative emotion, and in the middle of introvert/extrovert.
The first result I got on my personality test was a low rating on open-mindedness. They described it as being “conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, and uncreative.” I completely agree with these results. I would agree that I am very down to earth. When I looked up the exact definition of down to earth, it states the

My room, car, backpack, and anything that I own is a mess. I hear these words “how do you find anything in this place?” come out of my mom's mouth almost everyday. Even though it seems like a disaster to everybody else, I have a place for everything within each and every mess. Another term the test used was “undependable.” I hate to admit it but I am not the person to be depended on for anything. I have to write myself a note just to set my alarm each morning. I forgot almost everything said to me. As I am sitting here writing this, I just remembered I forgot to grab prunes for my pantry at work about an hour …show more content…
I never knew how to describe myself with these terms. I would say that I’m in between both, and that's exactly what i scored on the test. When I am by myself I am very introverted. I don't like to talk to new people or do things on my own. Starting a new school, or in this case college, is very hard for me. I don't know how to start conversations with people and joining in on group projects is a struggle for me. On the other hand, I am very sociable. I have a big group of friends and I love to be the center of attention. I am always loud and outgoing whenever I go anywhere with friends. Im even the one to come up with crazy ideas and act on them. I have no fear when I'm with people I know. Even family gatherings are sociable for me. I talk to everyone about anything and everything. I love to play games and sports with friends and family, but when I’m not with people I know I would never join in on those activities. This is why I completely agree with my results. I am extraverted in certain situations, and introverted in
The Big Five Personality Test provided an interesting account of my personality. Although the majority of the results were accurate, I was surprised by two of the outcomes. According to this test, I am a closed-minded, unmethodical, social butterfly that is well-mannered towards others and composed under pressure (John, 2009). First, the results were completely accurate as I am extremely extroverted. I never meet a stranger, and I carry on conversations with anyone. From the custodian, to the cashier, to a random person on the street, it gives me a great sense of fulfillment to engage in dialogue with others from all walks of life. Second, I agree that I am polite and supportive, especially with family and friends. Overall, I try to always
However, I feel when it comes to being conventional, I feel that I’m more of original then conventional because, of how I tend to be more creative and curious about things happening around me and usually tend to wonder a lot. Especially with my field choice early childhood I feel that being creative is another important trait so I feel that because of the field and just in general that at times I’m more of an original then being conventional because at times I tend to be more of a curious but, I do tend to be a down to earth person so I feel like with this one I’m somewhere in the middle with this one. Looking at all the other results I think they were pretty accurate because, looking into them they do seem to sound like traits I have or would consider that I have at
Personality is defined as a person's differences to another in regards to their patterns of behavior, thinking, and emotional responses (American Psychological Association). The Big Five Personality Traits are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism, or OCEAN for short. Openness is essentially correlated to exploring new things. The people that have high levels of this trait are generally more apt to do things like try different types of food, be more creative, and have the ability to tackle challenging problems. People who are low on this trait generally have a dislike for change, tend to not enjoy trying new things, and are generally more traditional in a sense..
The Myers and Briggs personality test is unlike many of the personality tests you will find randomly online because it was designed to examine the ways in which you focus on the world and make everyday decisions. After taking this test myself I have found out a few things about myself that I did not really notice before. According to the Myers-Briggs test my personality type is INFP, which stands for Introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, and Perceiving. At the start of this test I had no idea that I was considered an introvert because as far as I can remember I have always loved being around people and never really thought about things before acting, which is the exact personality of an extrovert. The end of this personality test has a section that describes the different traits of those under that category and as for what it says about me I do feel that it matches some of my traits to a tee, but at the same time I feel like there are a few traits that are a bit off. Perso...
My score on extraversion was 22, low again compared to the norm. For this trait, I agreed with my results at first, but after some thinking I realized although I am introverted, I do behave extravertly sometimes. In general, I prefer working alone, staying indoors, and I don’t like being around a lot of people. For example, when given a group project, I’d prefer working on my own. Yet most of the time, I end up being the group leader because I get along well with people and am usually optimistic. Basically, I prefer settings with less people, but I can mingle well with strangers at parties or functions. Most of my friends and myself included, would say I am extraverted because I make friends easily and am usually very happy and cheerful. But that is only partially true because I do behave differently depending on the situation and my role as a friend, student, employee, etc. Therefore, I don’t agree with my results overall. Considering I show both introversion and extroversion, I think my results should have been within average compared to the
I found the results of my self-assessments to be a very insightful and accurate description of myself. The results of the learning styles test and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II are very valuable for examining my personality traits and learning style and making improvements as needed.
The 50 item Australian Personality Inventory (API; Murray, Judd, Jackson, Fraser, Komiti, Pattison, & Robbins, 2009) was used to measure each of the Big Five personality traits; openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. The API indicates that I am higher on neuroticism than conscientiousness (33 and 26 respectively). Furthermore I scored higher than average on extraversion (36) and openness (36) while scoring slightly lower than average on agreeableness (37). Therefore…
After taking the Big Five Personality Test I’ve concluded that it is a fairly accurate assessment of my personality. 1) On Openness to Experience/Intellect I ranked at the 53 percentile, with the description that I don’t typically seek out new experiences. I would agree with this assessment. While I am somewhat creative, I am no artist. It takes me more time to do something creative than something analytical, but I do still like to be creative on occasion.
I think this test assigned me accurately as Introverted because I am a reserved person who is quiet most of the time. In addition, I like to think before speaking because I believe words are one of the most powerful tools, which need to be used properly. This thoughtful calculation process can be beneficial for my careers because I should be careful when I am speaking to a patient. Each words can have thousand meaning therefore, while speaking the word selection requires reflection and careful thinking process. As Physician Assistant I can use Introversion to communicate clearly and effectively with my patient, regardless of their knowledge status. My energy comes from within, which motivates to express my thoughts. As an intuitive person, I have problem solving skills and great desire to implement ideas. In order to achieve a goal in the medical field, I need to understand abstract ideas and respond in a practical way. Furthermore, as a thinker, I get to analyze the pros and cons of a situation and make a logical decision, which is crucial for my future career because doctors should make their decision based on facts. Also, as a judging personality type, I am structured and time oriented, who likes to complete task in a timely manner, which is crucial in my future. For example, as in charge PA for the hospital I should arrive at work in timely
I believe as humans our personality is developed through life experiences. Our personalities are constantly changing throughout our lives. When it comes to understanding yourself which I feel is essential in understanding your personality. I agree with the Humanistic Theory of Carl Rogers. I believe that there is only subjective-reality. Which is each person’s unique perception of what is going on around them. I believe self-concept is important as well and it is how we learn to understand our surroundings. According to Carl Rogers self-concept is the subjective opinion
Intelligence Quotient (IQ) tests are common all over the world. The tests were initially conducted on young children mostly at the kindergarten age to measure their cognitive abilities in relation to others of the same age in a bid to ascertain the level of attention the pre-scholars would require from teachers upon joining school. In modern times, these tests are carried out on adults for different reasons such as for fun/general knowledge or to determine the best candidate for a job or academic purposes. It tests several aspects of personality and this paper identifies two IQ tests and develops sample questions for them in an academic setting.
Us as human beings tend to think that we know a lot about ourselves. For the most part we do, but there are some things that we may not have paid attention too. That is why you can now take personality test to learn more about yourself. Yes, these test are really helpful with that and other things like: how you do certain things or the way that you think. What is my personality? How do we develop our individual personalities? Was I born with a preset personality? And if so can my personality be changed well into adulthood? These are questions I asked myself, while I gather my thoughts as to what my personal theory of personality is. So far in my quest of self discovery and introspection, I can see that individual personality can be altered and is very adaptive throughout life. I see this in the ways that many individuals go into counseling and with time and true determination are able to move at times from unstable personality condition into a healthier state of being. I truly believe that many aspects of theories already developed can be used to explain the
Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
Taking any type of personality test can lead to a lot of thought and reflection on yourself,
