My family and my faith status makes me worthwhile to live my life. It's the love and relationship that keeps me bounded together with my family. During the high school, i have decided for my career as an Electrical Engineer. I have done research to find out what is my main aim. Having the personal experience of seeing my mom as an Engineer, I have decided to set my goal. I want to be like her in all ways. Having a caring personality towards life makes me a challenging person because caring too much makes me possessive which ultimately results in zero tolerance for me. I am unable to tolerate any bad attitude towards the person I care so much. This makes it annoying for the person who we care because showing possessiveness makes them feel weird and awkward which ultimately hurts us. For me, I really care and I am possessive for my mother and whenever my siblings irritate or annoy my mom, I am unable to tolerate it. That makes my anger to burst out. My mom doesn't like arguing and whenever i argue and show anger with my siblings for my mother, ultimately she gets irritated and annoyed with me which makes me feel hurt. Caring too much also becomes a weakness of a person most of the times. This is a challenging trait because we can't survive in society if we have a weakness of no …show more content…
Our emphasis and influence on traditions and culture is upbringing from our parents. They nurture us to follow those beliefs. The beliefs which allows us to have faith in one God which is Allah. To pray five times a day and do good deeds so that we can be awarded it in the world hereafter. They do not enforce or impose faith on us rather we chose to live that way. In my family I am a Muslim. As a Muslim I am influenced since my childhood to follow my faith and my culture. Having faith makes me a traditionalist because it changes my perspective to look through the world through a different lense. I relate to a subcultural group of people but rather want to consider myself in the mainstream of the culture of Muslims. Their are different groups of this culture on the basis of their beliefs and faith. I consider myself in a subcultural group of Sunnite because i am born as a part of that group but I represent the characteristics of all the other groups to make it look equal. I have seen the fact that some people have the group of Shiite and not Sunnite. and they start making differences on the basis of different groups so I try to be in the mainstream where I don't tell my specific group rather I just consider myself as a Muslim and represent equality towards everybody. I look through the world as the perspective of an optimist. It makes me feel
What the texts suggest about the relationship between how an individual sees themselves vs how the individual is seen by others, is through the concept of identity. An individual’s identity is shaped by many factors: life experiences, memories, personality, talents, relationships and many more.
Beyond the basic need for a sense of control, people are driven by their sense of identity, of who they are. Each person lives in their own universes, which are centered upon their feelings of self-purpose. There are multiple types of identities, such as individual and group identities. Each person's identity is formed differently because of the unique experiences every individual encounters. The formation can be affected by many things such as their home environment, social interactions, and physiological health.
Before beginning the explanation of how an identity is formed, one must understand what an identity is. So, what is identity? To answer this, one might think of what gives him individuality; what makes him unique; what makes up his personality. Identity is who one is. Identity is a factor that tells what one wants out of life and how he is set to get it. It tells what kind of a person one is by the attitude and persona he has. And it depends upon the mixture of all parts of one’s life including personal choices and cultural and societal influences, but personal choices affect the identity of one more than the others.
Identity is a group of characteristics, data or information that belongs exactly to one person or a group of people and that make it possible to establish differences between them. The consciousness that people have about themselves is part of their identity as well as what makes them unique. According to psychologists, identity is a consistent definition of one’s self as a unique individual, in terms of role, attitudes, beliefs and aspirations. Identity tries to define who people are, what they are, where they go or what they want to be or to do. Identity could depend on self-knowledge, self-esteem, or the ability of individuals to achieve their goals. Through self-analysis people can define who they are and who the people around them are. The most interesting point about identity is that some people know what they want and who they are, while it takes forever for others to figure out the factors mentioned before. Many of the individuals analyzed in this essay are confused about the different possible roles or positions they can adopt, and that’s exactly the reason they look for some professional help.
Identity is within all of us. Without it, we would be nothing. It determines just about any personality trait, habit or manner one can think of. That humans have such varied attitudes is intriguing, but where does identity come from? People identify themselves using not only qualities within them, but through culture and family as well.
The inquiry of identity is both a philosophical and a psychological question. Identity is not only comprised of the characteristics that make individuals unique, but also includes external perceptions that classify groups of people together. It gives individuals a unique sense of self, and also lends itself to the application of labels and stereotypes. I believe identity is an integral part of human existence. It creates societies and distinguishes culture. It gives individuals a sense of community and self-worth. I have an identity that no one else can own. It is a reflection of my past and the foundation for my future. Every decision I make becomes a part of my identity. But like all humans, I tend to change my mind frequently.
Tradition means the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation (MacBook pro dictionary). My first impression was from my “Tradition” video watching by Mark Fiore about the direction and the magnification of American constitution. This constitution document was made people to be their own slave than property slave in this proud nation. This constitution was made a strong people, economy, politics, and nation by voting who is best and give enough for the people and nation as well as good for us now.
My personal worldview explains the way I view and live life through the assumptions and beliefs I hold in response to the world around me. I believe I was created for a specific reason and purpose.
Identity. What is identity? One will say that it is the distinct personality of an individual. Others will say that identity is the behavior of a person in response to their surrounding environment. At certain points of time, some people search for their identity in order to understand their existence in life. In regards, identity is shaped into an individual through the social trials of life that involve family and peers, the religious beliefs by the practice of certain faiths, and cultural awareness through family history and traditions. These are what shape the identity of an individual.
Webster's dictionary describes identity as sameness of essential character, individuality, or the fact of being the same person as one claims to be. So your identity can include your name, your age, your job title, or simply characteristics of your body. These things are facts, facts you don't care to share with the world. Just as the word suggests your identity is something by which you can be identified. These are things that describe a person in terms a stranger would understand. This area of identity is proof of who you are. However, your identity is also composed of what you are. They mark your role in society. Who you are and what you do make up your identity. This is essential in the human life span because people are always searching to find where they truly belong in the world.
Although we may not all see eye to eye, we all still have our own worldview. The central idea of a worldview is to be the different beliefs that is an understanding of how we see the world around us. It will be understood by how a person feels about different emotions and ideas that are encountered on a daily basis. A worldview is a response of our heart or inner being: our intellect, emotion and will. (Weider, Gutierrez,59) We create our own personal worldview based on things we believe are true and norms to society. A worldview perspective shapes, influences, and generally directs a person's entire life. (Samples 2007)
A person’s identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person’s identity. Some factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may influence a person’s sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person’s taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set individuals apart. An individual is not a puppet on the string of their puppet-master, nor a chess piece on their master’s game board, individuals choose their own paths in life. They accomplish, or strive to accomplish, goals that they have set for themselves throughout their lifetime. Individuals are different from any other individual in the world because they live their own life rather than following a crowd of puppets. A person’s identity is defined by what shaped it in the first place, why they chose to be who they are, and what makes them different from everybody else in the world. I feel that I have developed most of my identity from my own dreams, fantasies, friends, and idols.
Identity is popularly regarded as a combination of personality, feelings and beliefs. Basically, identity defines who a person is. It is used to describe and distinguish the personality of people. It is what makes people unique. Some may believe that identity and personality are similar or the same, but personality is simply an insincere impression and does not involve a person’s hidden feelings and beliefs. That is, the way we are brought up is what defines us; it is what we become or what we are and that cannot be changed in any way until we embrace a different culture or decide to change our way of doing things.
There are countless factors that influence the way people personify themselves. In the end, the forming of one’s identity is dependent on a person themselves. Things such as media, culture, and education definitely have a part in determining identity, but it is important for people to determine their own uniqueness by not conforming to everything they may see or hear from these influences. The way people decide to forge their own personalities directly affects their futures.
There are a lot of different cultures in the world we live in today. Finding the place you belong and discovering your own culture can be a challenge. This is especially true when you look at culture as an individual versus culture in your family, or even within your community. I’ve always been very family oriented, so that plays a big part in who I am and how my family’s dynamic works. I believe that my family has had a huge impact on the development of my culture, and I hope that I have had the same impact on theirs.
