I think my main strength is Life Purpose and Service. I am fulfilling my reason for being here by continuing my education at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and in having chosen my major, Clinical Lab Science. Part of the reason I chose this major is because I enjoy helping people and am passionate about the field. I love helping people in any way I can, I have volunteered for many organizations such as City on a Hill, a volunteer organization where underprivileged people can go to receive food, and health care (physicians, eye doctors, podiatrists, etc). I also volunteer with youth groups in church (Music and Drama camp and Vacation Bible School). I find a significant purpose and fulfillment out of helping others. The next strength I have is Financial Health. I have rent, electric, …show more content…
I have a very low self-esteem and I always have. I have never thought I was pretty enough, thin enough, or good enough. This may be something I will always struggle with but I have been move toward the me I have always wanted to be. I have supportive and loving friends that encourage me all the time, which is a wonderful factor pushing me forward. I tend to suppress my emotions because I do not like any attention on myself and I would rather help others with what is going on in their lives than talk about what is going on in mine. This is also something I have done for years and is a hard habit to break, but I know it is an unhealthy one and potentially harmful for my relationships and self. I do tend to be driven by emotions and say or do things I do not mean because of something done in that moment. I am learning and trying to be better about dealing with and expressing my emotions because I know this will build healthier, stronger relationships. I am very happy and optimistic when it comes to other people and their situations and experiences; however, when it comes to myself I tend to be a harsher
Finally, leadership, my most valuable skill. Leadership is useful in any career and any situation. In band, I've used it a lot. Now that I'm going into the real world and my career, I know I will use it even more. My leadership has rewarded me personally. I feel like I have already made a difference in the lives of my peers. Leadership can get me anywhere in life and I expect that this alone could get me all the way to my college graduation. These skills in combination will keep me on top, and hopefully at the top of my college
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
Paul declares in 1st Corinthians that to each of God’s children a spiritual gift has been given. Over the years of my walk with the Lord I have concluded that I possess the noticeable gift of speaking in tongues and perhaps the gift of discerning spirits. As we have been learning about our proclivities towards certain strengths, I have been thinking about different ways mine are useful in and for the Church. Analytical is in my top 5 and it greatly assists my ability to learn and discern during the teaching of the Word. As Gallup puts it on their website, I have a “prove it” mentality. Therefore, habitually, I scrutinize everything the speaker says and cross-reference it against my bank of theological knowledge. However, I realize that I
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
I gave this paper a lot of thought before I began to write. ?What qualities and traits do I posses that make me desirable as an employee, a teammate, and as a person?? First, you must be able to identify your own personal strengths and weaknesses in order to become a lifelong learner and an essential part of a ?team?. As technology is constantly growing you have to be willing to accept what makes you an asset or a liability in any given situation you may encounter in your life. The qualities and traits that I feel make me a valuable entity to my employers, co-workers, classmates and within my personal relationships are varied. I will go on to describe some of the attributes I think are most important in establishing and maintaining successful relationships whether personal or work related.
This was a very neat quiz. I have five greatest strengths that describe me day to day. The one that stuck out to me is Positivity - which means that I am an upbeat person and I can get people excited about anything that comes our way. The strength finder said that I typically go out of your way to tell your coworkers how much you value their contributions, talents, ideas, and successes (www.strengthsquest.com). I am Pre-K teacher assistant Monday-Friday. Working for the school district can be very hard most of the time. You have to go in prayed up and have your war clothes on or you will go crazy. For an example Friday, November 6 at three o 'clock we received an email from our Pre-K advisor. The email said the week of Thanksgiving our
As I stated earlier, loyalty is one of my top values, and I believe that if I am a loyal leader many people will trust me and develop their leadership attributes. Along with loyalty comes relationships. To me, the two go hand in hand. It is nearly impossible to have a healthy relationship when someone is not being loyal. I believe my greatest opportunity to be loyal and successful is to utilize my leadership ability to fulfill my potential. I plan to use the strengths I discovered from StrengthsFinder 2.0 to navigate my values down whichever path I decide to choose for the remainder of my college career, and any post-graduation occupation. I believe that my top strength, harmony, will continue to affect the way I make relationships. Harmony has been an extremely large part of my life and I intend to rely on it throughout my life. I know that my second strength, adaptability, will give me the tools to encounter anything that life throws at me. I understand that things are not always going to go the way you intend. Having the ability to adjust my thought processes is just one way adaptability will make a difference in my life. I believe that my third strength, WOO, will help me to build relationships and expand my network no matter how old I am. Being able to relate and connect with others is something I strive to do in my daily life. My fourth strength, communication, goes hand in hand with WOO.
One has to use their strengths to their advantage. I think that at my job I can use my five strengths to dealing with people in general or when a thing becomes stressful. For example, when there is an irate customer, I can use my realtor skill when someone is upset. I can set back and hear what he or she has to say. If I offer my listening skills and help them in their life. I have discovered that often times people want you to listen to them and their concerns. Furthermore just as I am using my realtor skill, I am also utilizing my learner skill. I am absorbing all the information to get a life lesson. It could be that I should listen more to people and not talk as much or give someone the encouraging when he or she is having a bad day. I think that
Compared to my competitors, my strengths are my languages, technology skills, education, work ethic and the ability to follow directions. I ended up contacting 3 of my family members, and I told them to be brutality honest with me. I also told them whatever they said to me would not hurt my feelings. The four people I contacted where my brother, mom and dad. My dad said that my strengths where that I’m independent and I like to work on my own, that I was very determined to be successful, and that I am very driven to be the best at everything. She said my weaknesses where time management since I sometimes put off homework till last minute, that processes where hard for me to follow because I like to do things my way, he also said that I am very needy for approval after I have completed something. My mom said that I am a hard worker and feel the need to compete tasks fast, that I am a very loyal friend, and I am very determined to succeed in life. She said for my weaknesses that I can sometimes be selfish when it comes to work because I care about me succeeding more then others, she also said that me being a loyal friend is also a weakness because I care about them as much as I care about myself, and finally she said that I can sometimes get distracted easily. According to my brother my strengths are that I am very studious when it comes to school and work, also that I am very determined in life,
The report described my self-esteem to be pretty strong. If people reject me based on who I am or what I do, I am most likely not going to be affected by it. I also don’t really go out of my way to attain approval from people who don’t accept the way I am. Although rejection may hurt me, I don’t let it change how I feel about myself. The results described me as strong and only worried about my own approval. I found these results to be pretty true now that I have gotten older. When I was younger I used to always worry about what others thought of me, however as I have grown and been through more hardships, I have learned that the only approval I need is my own. I agreed with the results when it said at times I may feel hurt when rejected but not devastated. This is true. At times I still feel this hurt, however I don’t let it ruin my view on
My self-image is so low that I have a tremendous amount of self-pity or self-hatred. I do however want to find that happy median where I'm comfortable in my own skin. It's odd how my feelings about myself change from day to day. I engage quite often in interpersonal conversation, question my motives and encouraging myself to move forward. My success in business attributes to my abilities but I still put an unbelievable amount of stress on myself to be the best and never seem comfortable to relax and enjoy what I have and w...
My strongest skills are interpersonal skills which include many skills such as relating well with others, assisting others, resolving conflicts, being a team player. I always get on well with everyone I meet because I am easy-going and sociable. I never want to involve in a tussle with anyone and I treat people with respect. I like to make new friends and people also want to make friend with me. I also have a good sense of humor so people really like to talk to me because I can make them laugh a lot. I am always willing to give people a hand whenever they need me. Helping others has always been one of my hobbies. Every time I do something
A reflection of the self is an important tool to use to figure out whether or not your self-concept provides you with a positive self-esteem. First ask yourself, ‘who am I?’ and once you figure that out, determine if your perception of yourself is a positive one. If it’s not positive, you might want to consider making a change very quickly in order to live a fulfilling life. An even more important tool is to compare your own self-concept to the perception others have of you. I interviewed four people and asked them three questions. Those questions were as follows. “How do you perceive me physically? How do you perceive me socially? How do you perceive me psychologically?” Their overall physical perception of me is, I am beautiful,
One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
