My passion in the field of data and computer science stems from both personal and practical reasons. I believe that these fields have limitless growth; and a strong scientist in one of these fields carries with him or her the potential and responsibility of changing the world. The personal reasons of why I am attracted to data and computer science is closely related to my perspective and philosophy of life. I believe that a person who truly understands the value of their life will spend each and every moment aiming to become a stronger person: mentally, physically, and spiritually. Not for selfish or base pleasures, but to enrich both his and her own life and, more importantly, to enrich the lives of his loved ones, community, and the world. One of the many ways to become stronger is to gain more knowledge. However, merely gaining knowledge is not as useful as the effective application of the knowledge. And this fact forms the major foundation of why I am so interested in data science. As an aspiring data scientist, I want to be able to make sense of the world around me. To extract knowledge and information …show more content…
Just as pilots and physicists were absolutely needed for the Space Age to be a success; the Information Age that we live in today demands great data and computer scientists. From social media to technologized global economy, this unique time bombards its people with numerous bits of information. Without great data scientists, this information is heavily underappreciated in its value. On the other hand, with great data scientists, progress and strength can be made in numerous fields. Just as the internet has become a basic necessity for the world, there are many unknown possibilities and discoveries waiting to be found. Frankly, the need for great data scientists is greater today than it has ever
For centuries humans have depended on natural evolutionary processes for intelligence. Gathering information or doing simple research was a process that required large amounts of time and equipment until the proper information was found. Over the past several years we have seen how technology has advanced for the better of humanity. In “Get Smarter” by Jamais Cascio he brings to our attention some of the ways technology has benefited us today and how it could continue to benefit us in the future as well. The internet has become one of the largest breakthroughs in technology and become one of the most helpful tools created so far.
For my passion project I made cookies, but not just any cookies, I made cotton candy cookie. There were many ups and a downs while making these cookies, but they all payed off in the end. I learned many things during this passion project. For example I learned why I wanted to make these cookies, I made three of my own recipes and learned some really cool facts!
The creativity and ingenious of human beings has enabled the development of technologies that have overall, benefited all of mankind. Arguably one of the most if not the most pivotal man made technological achievement is that of the internet. The internet has allowed for the seeming less transfer of data and information in a matter of seconds. With this innovation has come an increase in communication, enhancement of understanding other cultures, and a mass gathering of data. The amount of data now in existence due to the internet has created the need for big data. Big data has developed as a solution to the traditional computer infrastructure that has become obsolete due to its inability to handle the massive amounts of data now in existence. The benefits of big data are ever expanding and attractive as it can improve the efficiency of companies, research, health sciences yet, the consequences of using big data are just as intensifying and are causing some backlash in many communities. The current issues surrounding big data and the increasingly dependent nature of the world’s people on big data will undoubtedly impact the use of big data in the future.
If nineteenth century was an era of the Industrial revolution in Europe, I would say that computer and Information Technology have domineered since the twentieth century. The world today is a void without computers, be it healthcare, commerce or any other field, the industry won’t thrive without Information Technology and Computer Science. This ever-growing field of technology has aroused interest in me since my childhood.
“Computer and information research scientists invent and design new approaches to computing technology and find innovative uses for existing technology. They study and solve complex problems in computing for business, medicine, science, and other
Currently the world has a wealth of data, stored all over the planet (the Internet and Web are prime examples), but it is needed to be understand that data. It has been stated that the amount of data doubles approximately
From a young age Charley’s personality made him curious about how things functioned. Both Charley and Marcos were very task oriented, interested in math and science, and had the ability to think analytically. Both of these individuals were attracted to computer science and engineering because of their

Many people always have the idea that being realistic is always the answer to accomplishing something. On the other hand, dreaming big, in my opinion, is better. You are able to have a view of what you want to accomplish at the end, and use it as a motivation.
We have come a long way in worldwide technological advancement. Computers are a way of living now but years ago everything was documented on paper and before then on stone. Indeed, the internet hosts an enormous informational base. Technology has made it possible for this information to reach far and wide. It would be almost unheard for the average American to go one day without the internet. By the year of 2000, more than one-half of all American households had personal computers. Today, the number must have tripled (Mary Fitzpatrick: American ways). There is no doubt that the internet serves as an important data base worldwide.
The key behind being a strong leader is having passion for the position. Ultimately, the difference between a good leader and a great leader comes down to the passion they put into their roles and how they use their passion for success.
There are several reasons that make people study Computer science. Some of these reasons are outline below:
My interest in Computers dates back to early days of my high school. The field of CS has always fascinated me. The reason for choosing CS stream was not a hasty decision. My interest started developing in the early stage of my life, when I studied about the invention of computers. The transformation from the large size to small palmtops enticed me to know about the factors responsible for making computers, also the electronic gadgets so small.
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. My experiences with in my passions have helped me aligned my vision for my life. They have given me the valuable knowledge that have set me up for success to get to this point in life.
The Internet has made access to information easier. Information is stored efficiently and organized on the Internet. For example, instead of going to our local library, we can use Internet search engines. Simply by doing a search, we get thousands of results. The search engines use a ranking system to help us retrieve the most pertinent results in top order. Just a simple click and we have our information. Therefore, we can learn about anything, immediately. In a matter of moments, we can become an expert.
