There are three characteristics I believe are imperative in order to become successful. Those qualities are passion, patience, and a good attitude. I believe I exhibit these characteristics because I work every day to grow my character through these qualities. My passion for attending college is to attain a degree in Professional Golf Management. I have learned tons of respectable qualities through my experiences with golf. I love participating and playing with the kids at the golf course because it gives me a chance to share my passion with someone who is relatively new to the sport. I hope to use my profession to get more kids involved with a healthy, safe sport. One obstacle that hinders many people from success is patience. Early on
If someone wants to succeed in life and stay recognized by superiors, then he or she ought to appear hardworking. A person begins with setting goals. There are two categories, the first, “be” goals and the second, “do” goals. In other words, ask yourself, "What to be?" or "What to achieve?" Four categories of goals consist of wealth, health, relationships, and self-fulfillment which equal success. Working diligently to finish a task demonstrates how to live a successful life. Given these points, Thomas Edison, Helen Keller and Harriet Tubman, all exceptional achievers, found that prosperity undoubtedly comes along for everyone who perseveres.
A Few Keys to All Success by Jim Muncy, published in 2002 explains that there are 7 universal keys to success that we can relate to everyday life. Discernment, Optimism, Responsibility, Initiative, Perseverance, Purpose, Sacrifice. Each one represents how we grow and teaches us how to have a high quality of life. From reading this book I am confident because I know being normal means being average and what we do can change how we act significantly. Also we can’t let the world hold us back from greatness. There will be negativity, there will be those who lack enthusiasm but you can’t let them interfere in what you have in store. And these keys will help you get to that point in your life. Discernment; Judge the seed by the harvest. The first
Determination, the strive to come out on top. The compulsion to reach your goal. For me, failure is not an option. Being adequate is not one either. You either have your game face on or you do not. There is no in between. My goal at the moment is to become a student at the Early College. From then on, I have multiple goals set up
Golf, as Defined by Mark Twain, “is a good walk spoiled”, and too many in this day it is becoming more and more common to be looked at in this way. Golf, beginning around 1996, entered a new era, and that is the one controlled by a sports icon, named Tiger Woods. What used to be a game for elderly gentleman sitting at the country club, playing nine holes a day on a fairly easy golf course, took a whole new shape. Golf became a game of long tee shots and amazingly accurate approach shots, taking the game to a new super low scoring level, that seemed to be only feasible by tour pros, which seem to never miss. With all this change, golf is beginning to lose interest, yet why? Is it because it is too difficult? Not any fun? Or is it just too expensive? Well in all honesty, it may be all of these things and more. Yet, I believe, it is time everyone over looks these hurdles, hops over them, and on to the golf bandwagon, and understand how to enjoy the game, more than ever before.
Imagine the sun bursting through the trees for the first time of the new day, the smell of freshly cut grass still potent to your nose as you tee the ball up for a round of golf in the cool mist of a spring morning. "That is what brings you back every time, the smell of the air, the coolness of the whether and the beautiful surroundings that make every shot enjoyable." (Suess, PI) This is the game of golf in its finest and most exquisite time to many people and many people it has touched in its long history. Golf is a lifestyle and not just games to people that are avid in playing. The game of golf has a history that is rich in technological advances and personal accomplishments, which through time has shown to shape the sport into what it has become today.
Nathaniel Hawthorne utilizes symbolism throughout his short story Young Goodman Brown to impact and clarify the theme of good people sometimes doing bad things. Hawthorne uses a variety of light and dark imagery, names, and people to illustrate irony and different translations. Young Goodman Brown is a story about a man who comes to terms with the reality that people are imperfect and flawed and then dies a bitter death from the enlightenment of his journey through the woods. Images of darkness, symbolic representations of names and people and the journey through the woods all attribute to Hawthorne's theme of good people sometimes doing bad things.
...en I have a goal. I work hard and don't give up easily. I am a perpetual optimist always looking to the future and learning from my mistakes rather than letting them pull me down. I have a certain amount of natural intelligence, and what I lack I make up for with persistence and tenacity. I have an inherent belief that I will accomplish my goals that keeps me positive and pursuing my goals even when it is difficult to do so.
Golf is different than any other sport I’ve ever played. Golf challenges the body, mind, and soul. The average person doesn’t think a lot about golf, or thinks that it is not a challenging sport. Once they have played it is a different story. Golfing is not just taking a swing at the ball, it involves several tedious techniques and strategies such as; making sure you are aimed where you want the ball to go, your hands are in the right spot on your clubs, your knees are slightly bent, etc. In the book “The Mind at Work” a member of the UCLA Graduate school of education and Information Studies, Mike Rose, states “With time and practice, all this becomes routine, automatic.” We are asked to compare Rose’s work with intelligence that we as students have acquired through our lives thus far. Something that I have worked for and learned about since I was young is golf. I
What do you want to be when you grow up? This is the question asked often by many adults of children and young people. Answers vary across the board for some children dreaming of becoming an astronaut to little girls aspiring to become a veterinarian; however, the overwhelming answer of children is to become a professional athlete. Many kids grow up envisioning themselves as the next Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, or even the next David Beckham or Mia Hamm. But how many times do you hear a child say they want to become the next Tiger Woods? The thought of golfing, especially as a child, puts many to sleep. It is uncommon for a young child to fall in love with the sport of golf. Most people take up golf later in life as a hobby, yet
