Education, my lifelong passion that is enriched through each of my teaching and learning experiences. As the first class of a pre-medicine focused middle college, I matured through understanding the rewarding nature of teaching as a writing fellow, tutor, and supplemental instructor. I became a more organized thinker, writer, and student, driving me to better myself as an educator. Developing analogies and providing examples led students to discover information themselves, while deepening my understanding of the course material as well. In addition to learning more, I became better at quickly mastering any subject. For example, I learned to
The high school junior and senior students ranged from believing they would never attend college to a student that went on to receive a perfect score on the ACT. Thrilled to develop a fun and engaging lesson plan, I surveyed student’s learning styles and tailored my lesson plans accordingly. I learned to adapt to my audience through revising my lesson plans throughout the summer. While most students engaged, the few students without interest in learning were detrimental to the students wanting to learn. Shifting my focus to encourage the students’ desire to learn, I shared the analogy of getting food at McDonald’s drive-thru to attending class. Who would order food at the menu, wait in line, pay, and then drive away without receiving the food? No one would drive away, yet students chose their courses, dedicate their time to attend class, and leave without learning anything. This analogy resonated with the students, which helped increase class participation. I learned to adapt my teaching and communication skills to overcome the challenge of having this broad range of students. Planning to teach a diverse patient body, this experience helped me prepare to encourage my patients to live healthy

After my completion of the project, I re-examined my career and life goals. Before I discovered that Edutopia was my idea of paradise, I had never realized that education was so important to me. When I did, though, I decided to pursue a career in education.
The Rockettes continue to shine as an American treasure; their glamorous performance style and complex routines have charmed audiences for generations. As the stars of a legendary holiday production, these immensely talented and hard-working women showcase their
History has always been one of my passions. Entering high school, my goal was to get a 5 on one of the AP tests for history. When the opportunity came, I took my first AP class, AP European History, and I studied away.
“Class,” I announced, “today I will teach you a simpler method to find the greatest common factor and the least common multiple of a set of numbers.” In fifth grade, my teacher asked if anyone had any other methods to find the greatest common factor of two numbers. I volunteered, and soon the entire class, and teacher, was using my method to solve problems. Teaching my class as a fifth grader inspired me to teach others how important math and science is. These days, I enjoy helping my friends with their math homework, knowing that I am helping them understand the concept and improve their grades.
My journey in education has shaped me as an individual and an educator. I am thankful for every experience and opportunity I have been through. The knowledge that I have gained about the profession will stay with me when I become an educator. I have a deep understanding of what it takes to be a teacher, and know that through my experiences, I am ready and excited for what this profession has to offer me and what I have to offer the profession.
My passion for the fascinating wolrd of science literally can not be put into words. Since receiving my first home science kit at five years of age the way things work and why has always been at the forefront of my mind. During my early years I would find great delight in examining anything I could fit under the lens of my telescope. I will never forget my first look at the intricate detail of a human hair.
As an education major at State College, I’ve decided to become a teacher for several reasons. As I progressed through elementary, middle, and high school, many of my teachers were great role models for me. This has inspired me to become a role model for someone in the near future. My love for science and math has also influenced my desire to teach and make a difference in a child’s life. I want to teach students the subjects that I love so much. I want the feeling that I helped a child accomplish or learn something they couldn’t understand. One of the main reasons I want to become an educator is because I feel education has really lost teachers who truly love teaching and those who truly love teaching and those who have the desire to make a difference. I feel I can really help make a difference in the education world and bring back the love to teach.
When I think along the line of what I have learned in the educational world there is just one word that comes to mind “WOW!” To think back and realize that my skills in communication, team work, problem solving began in primary school and are still continually developing today. I have learned to value and appreciate the ability
My interest in teaching started at a young age. I used to watch my teachers in awe as they were able to find new ways to get their students involved and excited to learn. Their enthusiasm to teach was so inspiring. I would often find myself using that same fervor as I grasped each concept. I, then, was able to relay it to my fellow classmates as a peer tutor. To this day, becoming a teacher is a passion that flows through me. However, my enthusiasm and passion are not the only reasons I would be a good teacher. I aspire to see a student’s ability to grasp the knowledge they never before understood. I aspire to see a student succeed at something they never thought they ever could. I aspire to not only support students with academic skills, but also with life lessons about the value of community, pride in one’s own ethnicity, good citizenship, sportsmanship, and more. I aspire to play a fundamental role in ensuring that all students from all cultures and learning abilities have the opportunity to be guided in a positive learning
I chose education as my career path after working in a classroom to fulfill a Field Study course. The children had a powerful impact; they were amazing; challenging, and most of all loving. In helping them, I quickly realized that I was the one receiving the gift that ultimately inspired me down the path of serving disadvantaged children. After experiencing two semesters in classrooms, I realized my enthusiasm for teaching was not a mere in-the-moment feeling but rather a genuine enthusiasm. I became aware that teachers are an important foundation in society and I look forward to the opportunity to develop the skills children need to adapt and apply for the rest of their lives by encouraging knowledge, character and resilience.
Anybody that knows me knows that my passion and goals in life have to deal with fashion. If I could be anything in this world I would love to be a designer of some sort or at least be in the industry. When it comes to clothing and style it just comes easy one of the easiest things I’m good at. Fashion is an art form it allows you to express your view on style anyway you choose. And to me I feel like nobody has the right to judge that. Style hasn’t always come easy to be though just like everything else it takes time and practice it’s still a work in progress. When I look back to my middle school and early high school years I wonder deeply about my choices, middle school had to have been the worst. I was going through a colored jeans faze, I would wear bright yellow, honey mustard yellow, sky blue, purple, and pink. If somebody were to name a color I probably had jeans that color. It gets worse though because I would have the worst possible combination choice of shoes to go along with a matching bead necklace and bracelet set, followed by a grey or navy blue uniform shirt. It’s clear I had no idea what I was doing the best part is I was being myself and that’s all that matters. No matter how much I think my style has grown I’m only human and will look back and probably wonder why I wore the outfit I’m wearing sitting here writing this essay.
My philosophy on education and learning is simple; to teach my future students to the best of my ability to achieve academic success. As well as getting to know my students well. Getting to know a little of their background can help make a difference in our teaching career. As a teacher, we care for our student’s educational needs and to achieve a full potential in their learning ability. I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. Having a passion for teaching and providing students with a proper education should always be a teacher’s top priority.
School began interesting for me my last year of high school. School was always important to me, but I never had a passion for it. However, I always put myself in a position to find a passion for school. I never skipped class, I never talked back, and I did my best to stay engaged in every class at all times. A desire to succeed in school did not happen until my final year of high school. I made it my mission to do well in school even if I had not found a passion for school. With my Dyslexia and my ADD, I have always struggled in school, and still struggle in school. I did not discover my Dyslexia and ADD until I was in the 10th grade. The doctor said I relied on my intelligence to create other ways to find the answer which masked my disabilities.
Coming into the teaching profession not knowing a lot, I was able to use previous experience from previous teachers to understand how important it is to understand whether or not students really understand the subject being taught. Having a passion to teacher also improves how much work teachers have to put into to make sure students understand. Growing up, I had the opportunity to experience what it was like to have a teacher was passionate about mathematics. This particular opportunity showed me how much effect he was able to put on his students performance, but most importantly how much effort he had to put into things to see a change in his students work.
