The population for my Living Case Study will come from a healthcare organization that will be referred to as organization X. Singh (2007) describes a population as “a group of individuals, objects, or items from among which samples are taken for measurement” (p. 88). The population within Organization X has over six hundred employees located in the corporate office in downtown Toledo, Ohio. Within the corporate office for my Living Case Study the focus will come from the Account Receivable Department where I am the Manager. The Accounts Receivable Department has two Cash Posting teams lead by two supervisors and a manager. Currently there are twenty-one employees between the two Cash Posting teams. The demographic makeup is all female ranging in age between thirty and sixty something. Their educational background is a mix, one employee with a bachelor’s degree, one with a two year degree, and the rest have completed high school with some college courses. There are two Supervisors one for each team, one has some college education with supervisor experience and the other has a four year degree with supervisor experience. 88). The AR Department is divided between two teams, one team posts cash for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Department and the other team posts cash for the Home Health and Hospice (4H) Department. The sample will be the SNF Cash Posters, the research design will be mixed, and this will allow for the statistical data that will be used and I will be performing the interviews of the subjects. Instead of using the both teams, my study will be the SNF Cash Posters. They are having to work a lot of overtime, staffing issues, low morale, and too many manual processes that have to be done daily before cash posting actually takes

The problem of the study is to investigate the raising of funds to keep VJG up and running for terminally ill children. Corporations need more information on VJG in order to make the decision easier. It takes knowledge, time, and money in order to make this happen.

In the United States today, many aspects of health are very segregated. This form of separation is referred to as silos. Animal, human, and environmental health are separated into these silos. Experts in these fields rarely work together or collaborate. The majority of research, funding, and resources are separated in to the three disciplines. The solution to this issue is the concept of “One Health”. One Health acknowledges the connectivity of all aspects of health. By working together, it is possible to detect outbreaks of disease earlier and save many more lives. One Health has made a dramatic influence on infectious disease prevention, detection, and treatment. Although there has been some advancements, there is still much

The writer observed different units of a hospital on two consecutive days from 7:00AM to 4:00 PM. The research findings were then organized in table form and conclusion was drawn. The things that I observed and thought will best fit to answer the research question are: if healthcare providers were washing hands effectively in the beginning of shift and at the end of the shift? Are they washing hands the same way at the beginning and end of shift? , how often are they washing hands? How much time does it take for them to perform hand washing? Are they washing hands every time they take their gloves off? Are they washing hands between each patient care, are they closing the faucet with a paper towel? This gave enough information to draw conclusions and to further compare the

An investigation of 150 randomly selected local restaurants concluded that 42% of local restaurants have serious health code violations. Is this a population or a sample; explain your answer.
The population is the patient amount. The direct outcome is a decreased mortality rate. A higher nurse to patient ratio would be the dependent variable. The specific question regarding a qualitative res...
When I was growing up I didn’t get sick that often, but in tenth grade I got mono which kept me from going to school for about two months. This is one of the biological factors that affected me. By missing that much school I was about a semester behind, which took me the rest of my high school career to make up for. This could have been something that was seen as a negative biological affect, but I think that the fact that I had to work twice as hard to catch up was more positive than negative. By having to do twice as much work as I normally would, I developed a very good work ethic. Another biological factor that had an influence on my life was during my senior year. My mom got a tumor on her spine from a staph infection and was hospitalized for the last half of the school year. Even though I was not the one who was in the hospital, it still had a big influence on my life during that portion of the year. The stress and pressure of school was a lot to handle at the time, and my mom being sick just added to the stress and pressure. The positive side of this is that my mom was healthy enough to be out of the hospital by my graduation.

4. Determining the Sample Size: Determining the sample size involves several qualitative and quantitative considerations, such as the importance of the decision; the nature of the research; the number of variables in...
I work in accounts receivable for a healthcare company. The job entail posting received payments to patient accounts as well as industrial accounts. We work alongside Accounting to ensure that all general legers balance during month end. The department had about 15 people; however, once my manager came along, she decided to split the department into two teams. This left only 5 people to do the payment posting. This became a huge problem because there were a total of 30 hospitals which we post payments for and 5 people would not be able to post every payment to each hospital effectively. Due to her decision we quickly got behind
My life experiment was to learn and memorize 5 new signs a day. Along with learning new signs, once a week I did a worksheet from a workbook I got for Christmas. After getting sign language flashcards, workbooks, and a sign language dictionary, I was and still am feeling motivated to learn five new signs a day. This was my choice for my life experiment because in college I want to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders, to eventually become a Speech Pathologist. A Speech Pathologist helps either kids or adults who have a difficulty in their speech which, in some cases, means working with patients that are hard of hearing. Learning Sign Language is essential in becoming my dream career.
