All of my efforts I put into this country have always impacted Americans, but I feel like I haven’t reached enough people to really make a difference in their lives. How can I change the lives of Americans throughout our country for the better by being first lady and not having a huge political role in the White House? Well, I feel like I have made some improvements in the quality of lives of the citizens of our country by the initiatives that I set in place and got my husband involved with the situation too. I didn't forget while being first lady of the nation that they're people of need that need to be taken care of. I could relate to the citizens who've been going through hard times, by how I grew up in the Southside of Chicago and had my family struggles. (Slevin) I wanted to be an inspiration to kids all over the U.S. that they can …show more content…
I like to give my own example of my life in Chicago, to Princeton University, also getting accepted into Harvard, a public career, and leading up to the White House. (Slevin) I encouraged young ones that they could do anything if they put in effort, set their mind to it, and work hard in the end to achieve their goal no matter their circumstances.(Slevin) While my husband Barack took care of the political, foreign affairs, health care, environment issues, I wanted to focus on how people in our nation lived their day to day lives. An important issue that I really cared about was the ‘Let’s Move campaign about getting rid of childhood obesity in a single generation. I feel like this out of all my campaigns is my biggest achievement so far because I got healthy eating into schools nationwide, and changed to the food service system to accommodate the new health regulations on Myplate.gov. I created and established Joining forces, to help military men, women, and their families, with their careers and workplace problems. In addition,
Have you ever wondered how women helped our country? There was and still are women who changed or change the world today. Like Shirley Muldowney, and Rose Will Monroe, or Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony, maybe Hillary Clinton. Some of these women changed little things and some changed big things, but they all made a difference in their own way.
managed to get several things done. Such as a public housing bill, an expansion of social
John Adams became the second president of America. Abigail Adams had the great pleasure of walking into her new home, The White House, on May 6, 1796 (Shields and Teute 227). Being the first lady, Abigail Adams had a huge role in women’s rights and changing the way women were treated. Abigail Adams immediately began to fulfill her new position of power. As soon as she became a resident at the White House, Abigail Adams began right at work. “Abigail took two days to put the place in order, then began the inaugural leve´es signaling her assumption of the role as hostess of the Republican Court” (Shields and Teute 227). Her new position in power gave her a bigger and louder voice in the construction and rehabilitation of the new government. The positions and situations Abigail Adams was put in allowed her to have a greater view towards the rights of women during her

James Earl Carter was the 39th President of the United States of America. He was elected President in 1977 until 1981. He insisted in being called "Jimmy" instead of James because he wanted to be known as a down to earth man. President Carter appealed to the American people with his slogan "A leader, for a change" and because he claimed he would "never tell a lie." During Carter's Administration he battled high inflation rates, high gas prices, and unemployment. He also faced many challenges in foreign affairs such as the Iran hostage Crisis, and in domestic affairs such as energy and the economy. Carter is also remembered for his ability to negotiate peace between Israel and Egypt and for promoting human rights. Technological and cultural events flourished during Carter's Presidency. Jimmy Carter impacted the nation during his first and only term during his Presidency.
By Michelle doing this it made us healthier, more active and also decreased America’s obesity. Hopefully Michelle’s influence carries on for future generations because we do not want to all be unhealthy and obese if there is something we can do about it.
Becoming a president isn't as easy as we may think. It takes a lot of time and is a big process and involves many people to decide on If he or she will be right for the job.
...lties that Charter presented to them. In Charter, I had to continuously work hard in order to catch up with the other students. I had to teach myself how to write essays, how to do algebra, basic geography and more. In the end it was all worth it. My ethnicity, my experiences, and my parents’ sacrifices have taught me to strive on and never give up. Even if it’s difficult, I refuse to give up without a fight. Through the lessons I learned and the challenges I faced, I realize that my goal in life isn’t just to succeed, but to serve others as well. I do not view success as having a higher grade, or a better job, but what I do to help others along the way. With this motto, I desire to live a life where I can be proud to say that I did something to leave an impact in other people’s lives, and that I helped others get through their struggles just as I got through mine.
Often referred to as ‘ The Don ‘, ‘ The Trumpster’, or ‘DJT’, Donald John Trump is classified as one of the most successful real estate entrepreneurs in the U.S. Donald was born June 14, 1946 and brought up in New York City, living comfortably, as his father, Fred Trump, brought home a considerable income as a real estate owner in Brooklyn. Perhaps Donald Trump is such a distinguished entrepreneur, because he has invested money in several different industries and been through a roller coaster of failures and successes.
The President has many duties and responsibilities, some of which many may be unaware. The President has these powers so that they can try to make our country a better, safer place to live. However, they also have limits to these powers so we do not turn into a dictatorship. Some of these powers are stated in the Constitution known as expressed powers, the others are implied powers obtained throughout history.
As the original First Lady, Martha Washington set an example for those who followed after her. Mrs. Washington was the leading woman of the country, and in being so took responsibility of most social events. Though most political deals and decisions were managed by Mr. Washington, Martha sometimes got involved. Martha's personality usually didn't effect her work, but it did set a precedent for other First Ladies. All of Martha Washington's actions as First Lady effected the way other head women such as Michelle Obama did their duties in the White House.
One can’ t help but be inspired when Esquith states, “If we ask great things of our children, we must show them we believe great things are possible” (Esquith, 2007).
The traditional role of the First Lady is slowly evolving. Modern First Ladies are not stopping at challenging the rules of the game. They are creating a new game entirely. A game that does not rely on a patriarchal society’s idea of how women should behave. A game without the pressure of rules. A game that is not based on who played it before, but based on these women’s individual choices. Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are defying and changing the traditional role of the First Lady through the influence of Eleanor Roosevelt and 4th wave feminism.
Hillary Clinton once said, "we must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society. She has stressed the importance of this quote by continuously trying to better the world. Clinton has taken part of many reforms, positions, and continues to promote equality for all. Throughout her life, she has helped with education, health care, and foreign affairs. Hillary Clinton was an influential woman in the twentieth and still is influential in this century. She has had obstacles in her life and career yet still continued to conquer whatever they may be. She has held many executive positions in her lifetime that have helped her gain experience and knowledge on politics and law. She has broken the stereotype of what a first lady is expected to be and what tasks they may have. Clinton has created a lasting impact to society and continues to expand her legacy on the world today.
I quickly learned at a very young age the value of hard work. Both of my parents had worked hard to achieve their dreams of a nice home, cars, and financial stability. Their working hard not only paid off financially, but they taught my two brothers and I, that working hard was imperative to life. I was given a set of chores and an allowance every week, which taught me responsibility and how to manage money. I also realized that cooperation goes hand in hand with hard work. My brothers and I would help each other with our chores from time to time. I did not know that cooperation works on a larger scale in the workplace, that sometimes one needs help to achieve their ultimate goal.
