Every coach you have played for is watching, full of pride as well as family, friends, teacher, plus your trainers. This could be the only time you make it to the finals on top of that, have the chance to play against the best. This could be a legendary moment that defines your legacy. But, what is a legacy? A legacy is something left behind for others to remember. But will my legacy end as a result of a tragic loss or will my dream come true? If this legacy were to come true it would have inspired others to keep on following their dream. Hard work, dedication, plus determination are traits people need to be successful. Which gives others the mindset that if they work hard they can succeed in life and complete their dream. Being noticed as a hard working, dedicated athlete is the goal that was waiting to come true since first grade. This would make my legacy great. Also it would be great to be remembered for the hard work, studying, and determination in school. In other words a student athlete, because grades is the …show more content…
You need to know what you consider doing in life, and what is valuable towards you. After all if I try my best and work as hard as possible I think I can leave one of the best legacies ever. By putting in the effort, you can be able to be successful within in the classroom and in any sport or elective that you may take part in. However , by limiting yourself to only what you have mastered will not allow you to grow as a person. As you mature you will realize that in order to become successful , sacrificing certain freedoms now will help you in the long run. Your objective should be to exceed others expectations of you.
In my life, I had not had the chance to be a part of something that influenced me much, until I joined football my freshman year in high school. Joining football was perhaps the most devoted and wisest thing that I did because shortly after joining I began to see changes for the better, and from then I saw the person that I wanted to be in the future. In other words, it shaped the person that I am today and will be for the rest of my life. Not only did the sport influence me but it also equipped me with a new mindset that affects me today in my decision making skills, time management and many other beneficial life virtues. I believe that these virtues will bring me success in the nearest future because I feel confident about myself and I feel more in control in my life through my actions, all thanks to simply joining what seemed to be a “regular” extracurricular.
Determination, the strive to come out on top. The compulsion to reach your goal. For me, failure is not an option. Being adequate is not one either. You either have your game face on or you do not. There is no in between. My goal at the moment is to become a student at the Early College. From then on, I have multiple goals set up
come with a goal in life - to succeed on it. With that kind of mentality I
The crowd is going nuts, he made the winning basket, and the Warriors win! This sounds a lot like an athlete at the high school level of sports winning the game and everyone gets excited. High school is the primary years of learning a sport and finding your talents. As you enter college and continue to do sports, you find that your talent is met with many other people who also are good at a particular sport. Sports can be anything including basketball, football, soccer, badminton, tennis, ping pong, and even cross country skiing. You are considered an athlete if you participate in any sport. So being named an athlete is an honor because your skills are put to the test at all ages which leads to the question of: does aging bring only sadness to an athlete? In this essay, this question will be answered from many different points of view including external and internal validations.
Each game, my passion grew. Each team, new memories and lifelong friends were made. Sports sometimes make me feel disappointment and at loss; but it taught me to be resilient to a lot of things, like how to thrive under pressure and come out on top. Being the team captain of my high school’s football and lacrosse team showed me how having a big responsibility to bring a group together to work as one is compared to many situations in life. Currently playing varsity football, varsity lacrosse, and track I take great pride in the activities I do. Staying on top of my academics, being duel enrolled at Indian River State College, working three nights a week, and two different sport practices after school each day shaped my character to having a hard work
Dr. James seeked that the Greek Philosophy is just stolen Egyptian Philosophy. Way before it actually reached Athens, the teachings called the Egyptian Mysteries got to other lands first. The history of the Greek philosophy was a compilation and plan executed by Aristotle at his school. Greek Philosophy as it was called and it different to the Greeks as the way they live. The period between 640-322 B.C. was the time period of Greek Philosophy and its external and internal wars was just not suitable for producing philosophers.
Athletics has made a difference in my life through its redefining of the word “success.” Before I got involved with track and cross country, success was measured by goals I set and achieved for myself that made me happy. Since then, I have realized that success is much more gratifying when it is dependent on making those around me proud. In track, success is when I have trained hard enough so that I am able to help my relay team win a race or break the school record. In cross country, success is when I have built up enough endurance to contribute to the team score and help my team move on to the state meet. This mentality has translated to my daily life, as I am constantly working hard to please those around me. At school, I always do my homework and get good grades so that my teachers do not have to focus extra energy on getting me to do my work. At work, I strive to go above and beyond my typical duties so that I can lessen the responsibilities of my co-workers. At home, I help out with chores without being asked so that my parents can have one less thing
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to never give up and that everything in life happens for a reason. Throughout my entire life my dreams have been put down by society, wether it was a coach, friend, or family member. Everything I gain is because of me and only me. When I started my first year of high school, I knew I wasn't ready to maintain my academics, my social life, and my sports schedule all at once. I was completely intimidated by everything occurring in my life at the time.
Now this is all I think about. At first the main career goal was always to make money, a significant wage that would allow myself and my family to live extremely comfortably. As time goes on and I have matured money is still a goal, I still not only want to be fairly compensated, but I need to be as does everyone really. More importantly on my list of goals is that I want to have a career where it is just that a career. I go to work every day and have that feeling of accomplishment that people are depending on me to show up and do my job to make their jobs easier. I want to at least in some way make a difference and do something that matters even if the masses may not know me or what I do my staff will feel my absence as well as my presence completely in a good way. My goals are to be successful and respected not only by my peers but even acquaintances and to finally have something that when the time is right I will actually be able to retire from and not have to be like so many in my family and work right up until I’m broken and can’t go on any longer. My main goal is to be something my children can be proud of and aspire to
I have now been playing this sport for 10 years. My goal was to do something I loved while being able to learn new skills (physically and mentally). For four of those years I played on rep teams for the Vancouver Thunderbirds. On these teams I learned commitment, from waking up at 5 am for a practice to having tournaments in Seattle, I was always there. After four years of training and learning how to represent the association, I decided to move down to the house league for the next five years due to the fact that I wanted to focus on school. On my house teams, I was voted as captain for all of them and got to learn how to lead and inspire a team. I learned that it wasn’t about being the best but being able to bring the strengths of my teammates together. This allowed my teams to play for the championship for the next 5 years (huh?? awkward wording) . I was able to take these experiences from hockey and apply it to school. I took my skills such as leadership and self discipline and applied it to my sports teams and school to push my team and myself. Lastly, I took my commitment and placed it at Maple Grove Elementary School and Magee where I coached a basketball team and volleyball
To me, life is a basketball court. The world in my mind is a hoop, a basketball, a court, and rules. That’s why, it’s my passion, and it makes a great comparison to my life. In life, people say you can be successful without any effort from yourself, an average person living peacefully, or a guy that has tried so hard, but made it so late. Just like basketball. You make hoops to be successful; you defend when you meet an opponent. You pass commonly to have someone support you or reach out a helping hand. Those supportive people are most of the time, your family members, but also your friends for life. You dribble to keep up and to make it to success, while you make sure you don’t travel, or double-dribble. These are violations that are like the cheats of your life. You can make it by cheating, but you have just destroyed and lied to yourself. That also tells us there...
