I am interested in becoming an RA because I want to help people and make their college experience one to remember. My sister, Madison McCutcheon, was an RA here for four years and I loved hearing about the impact she made on her residents. I want to be there for the residents and address any issues they may be having or simply to check in and make sure they’re doing alright. College is supposed to be the time of our lives and any lingering problems can cause the experience to become unpleasant. As an RA, I would try to make my residents’ experiences as positive as it can be so that they enjoy this time in their lives. 1. Please identify at least one issue students face today and how you could address it as an RA? Some students have trouble
The reason why I want to become an Orientation Leader is because I see this as something that I am naturally attracted to. By becoming an orientation, I will possess the opportunity to make a batch of new friends. In the process, some of the relationships that I establish can transform into a lifelong bond. I feel like as an orientation leader, I will become a member of the unique community of orientation staff and create a bond that I can carry with me throughout my time here at Winthrop.
I am interested in a residence life position not for what it shall bring me, but for what I can possibly do to help others. I have seen the Resident Assistants in my hall, Grier, helping the residents and I would love to be able to make a difference in someone’s life as I see them doing everyday. Specifically, I have seen how Kayla Beadles has been able to help others as well as myself by creating a warm environment that has made it extremely easier to assimilate into college life. I hope that by being a Resident Assistant, I can inspire those in my hall the same way that I have been.
Kate, was my RA and really helped to make the transition a positive experience rather than a negative one. Which really made me feel like part of the community around campus and in the dorm, honestly she is what made me apply to become a RA myself. If I could help anyone else create a positive experience for someone else in a daunting situation, that would really give me a lot of joy. Moreover, I was part of Student Leadership for a year at my last college and it has given me a lot of experience with helping to navigate students along with helping them in anyway I can as a
Mrs. Callaway has been my advocate for returning to school also. She sees in me what I do not see in myself at times. This is what I strive to be, I want to be that nurse that can help others return to school to pursue their dreams and goals. To walk in the steps of this amazing lady, would be a wonderful dream come true. To have the patience and dedication that she posses would be spectacular. I would love to run the unit as she does, without many nurse turn-overs. I would also like to run a unit where patients and families return to the unit just to say? thank-you?. I want to be able to perform small task, such as helping my co-workers with an I.V. or a large task, such as admitting patients for another nurse. I want to be accountable and
The peer advising center i believe is a great resource that i hope more and more people utilize so they can know about their options about majoring or minoring in psychology. I also want to get more involved at SDSU especially in the psychology department. I am apart of the psychology club here and I am applying to Psi Chi so I definitely like to try new things and become apart of the different organizations here on campus. I take great pride in my studies and all things regarding my education so being a peer advisor would definitely be that extra step for me in getting hands experience with working with people. I want to that help direct me in the path I want to take for my career and this can help me see if this is something that I want to pursue in working with other people. Being apart of the Weber Honors College here at SDSU i like to surround myself with highly motivated people and so this would be the perfect fit for me. I also want to get to know the faculty and staff more and hope to get some more guidance on my career path and learn from them as well as learning from my peers. It will be a great way for me to prepare myself for graduate
I believe the role of the Resident Assistant is to first be a witness of a hard-working student, a committed friend, and a leader at Holy Cross College. The importance of being a hard-working student as an RA is to set expectations in your floor or dorm high in terms of effort towards a cultivation of the mind because that is the main reason we go to college. However, I feel the most important aspect is to be a committed friend. To be committed is to be an to talk or give advice any time and any day of the school year, but also to be able to discipline them when they have broken the rules because a RA should want their friends to mature into an adult in college so that they learn how to be self-discipline before they are sent out into the "real
What appears to be the issue (of concern, problem, challenge, or opportunity) and its significance for the organization? How does it relate to the theme of the workshop?
Clinical research associate (CRA) is a health-care professional who performs numerous activities related to medical research, particularly clinical trials. To differentiate the role of a CRA in 2017 to what a CRA role will look like ten years from now one must focus on the increasing use of technology, as well as the application of risk-based monitoring (RBM) strategies and direct data entry with a more flexible and transient clinical research environment supported by technologies and solutions that will permit clinical monitoring to be conducted anywhere, at any time. CRAs travels to clinical sites where trials are being conducted to ensure that all activities relating to the trial is in compliance with the clinical trial protocol and ICH-GCP
Issues arise when the expectation does not meet the reality, or due to misinformation. The various issues an average student might be classified as follows.
One of my main goals for being an RA is to share the many attributes and experiences that I have gained being a student at central. For example, during my time here at CCSU I have strengthened my time management skills, improved my studying habits and developed professional relationships with my professors. Since, I have proven evidence that the qualities I possess bring positive outcomes, for example, I have raised my 2.3 G.P.A to a 3.0 while juggling other tasks shows that the knowledge I possess can be useful to other students. Therefore, I would like to share my experiences and techniques with other students so they too can be successful in any goal they need to
Some even seem to possess a sense of entitlement and believe they should put minimal effort in their courses .Rather than wanting to acquire knowledge for its own sake, an increasing number of students simply want to be entertained in class. Characteristics of the millennial generation may make this particular group of students more prone to classroom incivility than previous generation. Other related causes include medication or other substances students may be taking, illness (both physical and mental),fatigue, stress (feeling overextended), emotional challenges (loss of loved one or break up of a relationship), emotional immaturity and poor problem solving skills, attention seeking, redirected aggression (when a student becomes upset with a professor due to an unrelated event that occurred outside the classroom), vision and hearing problem or other disabilities. In regards to stress, some students are often joggling multiple roles.
The third challenge would be grade complaints. Some students may complain of having lower grades than expected. To avoid such scenarios, I would discuss with the students what I would expect in
I am in a bit of a mid-life crisis in terms of my college career. With my graduation right around the corner, I realized that I have not been as involved within the college community as I wanted to be. I came to recognized how getting involved enhance the college experience, and how valuable these opportunities really are. I believe that getting this RA position is the best way for me to get involved in the campus community. This position will also allow me to leave a positive impact on other people’s college experience as well as my own. I hope to contribute certain set of skills that may improve the campus community.
I would also like to listen from teachers concerns and current mindsets. It sounds that teachers feel frustrated and do not have the support to be successful at their job. They feel that they have little
