My ideal job would be a Social Media Specialist. The reason being, I enjoy posting on Social Media and watching it evolve into a major marketing tool. Social Media has grown over the past few years to where Businesses can make it big by using Social Media. Sites like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and now SnapChat have opened a whole new universe for Marketing, bringing in something totally new. The things you can do with it and network with it, and show videos at a click of a button, instead of only being seen on television on a certain channel. Then also watching the trends on and everyone flowing to this certain thing, marketing is about keeping up with what is popular, but also taking risks in the creative world and seeing what could be the next popular trend. What Social Media Specialist do, is they communicate with the public, by posting …show more content…
The jobs are projected to be opening in abundance as people are discovering more effective ways to use Social Media as a tool for business instead of showing what you are eating that night to your friends and family. With the increase in jobs it will be easier to find one, but it will also be more competitive because there will be so many people trying to get the same job. The article on bls suggests to stay up to date with social media and watch the trends. By doing so you will put yourself ahead of the competition and when you do start the new job you will not be lagging behind because you know how to keep up and you know what is popular and what is not. In the next few years there will be roughly 200,000 job openings for this field, and I would guess that the turnover is large because of how competitive of a field it is, and with this generation being very Social Media savvy there is always going to be someone better than you, so you should keep working to be number
I personally would like to get involved with commercial litigation and represent larger companies. The big businesses are the ones that are going to be able to afford the hourly rates, and in doing so I know that I will have a secure paycheck.

After brainstorming and finishing Bolles’ questions, I discovered that my ideal career would be in a small organization, where the coworkers collaborate closely; it would be in a city with a sizeable population of people my age, where craft products and small businesses flourish. Likewise, the organization would be focused on providing a service that gives back to those in the community, hopefully combatting the cycle of poverty. In the organization, I would like to be coordinating people or events, and doing other behind-the-scenes duties that keep the whole place running.
The career I wish to pursue is that of a stockbroker. I am extremely interested in the trading of stocks and financial holdings so the career of a stockbroker just seems to fit in with my overall plan. Numbers have also always been a fascination of mine and the trends of the economy and long term financial outlooks have often interested me greatly. Stock broking is a risky business that one needs to be prepared for highs and lows if choosing to pursue. You must understand what a stockbroker truly does to even begin to follow this as a life long career.
I was first attracted to the general marketing field in my previous marketing class. My professor really stressed that marketing was about creating value for a product or company. The idea of establishing such importance not only through marketing, but advertising and promotions sparked diverse interest in the profession. A career in marketing means work with art directors, sales agents, and financial staff members. Knowing that I’m always changing along with my interests I need a career that alters as I do. From my previous marketing
For a career, I would like to be involved in the fast developing computer industry and more particularly with the Internet. I think it has immense potential and I would like to be able to develop the Internet to make it help the lives of day to day people. In this way I would also like to help make computers more like humans with for example voice operated user interfaces.
They claim this because people can get more career opportunities by the usage of social media. For example, in the text “Don’t Quit Social Media. Put It to Work for Your Career Instead.”, the author writes, “Just one platform, Facebook, has created more than 4.5 million social media indust jobs globally, according to a study conducted by Deloitte… The number of people in the creative industries, advertising and more who make a living on social media is probably much higher” (Gillooly, 2016). This quote supports the other side’s claim because people that use social media have a higher chance of receiving job opportunities and getting employed. Social media, such as Facebook, have created many social media jobs, which is why many believe that social media is beneficial for your future. I disagree with this statement because career opportunities aren't immensely infrequent. If you put in hard work, they will naturally come to you; there is no easy path. For instance, “Interesting opportunities and useful connections are not as scarce as social media proponents claim. In my own professional life, for example, as I improved my standing as an academic and a writer, I began receiving more interesting opportunities than I could handle… As you become more valuable to the marketplace, good things will find you” (Newport, 2016). Therefore, it is evident that if you have abilities, such as

David, I enjoyed reading your discussion post this week and found it to have a lot of truth. It is hard these days to research information on anything but the internet. I realize that all of my books are online and I often go to various websites to research for discussion boards without much thought. I think we often can fall into a rut where we believe what we read because it is time consuming to do any more research and we can just collect the information already put together and move about our day. It isn’t the best thing to do but this is the age of social media and we must try to revert ourselves back a little bit and do what you mentioned which is to have face to face conversations. I read an article written by Maura Keller on Socialworktoday
The way future candidates view social media has evolved drastically over the past ten years as technology has evolved. From websites like LinkedIn to Twitter, each website provides a unique opportunity for employers to view a future candidate. According to Media Bistro/Infographic, “92%of companies” use social media as an initial step to recruit future candidates. Another statistic Media Bistro/Infographic provides is that 73% of employees hire using social media and 20% of employers say it takes less time to hire via social media. What do these small statistics mean? Majority of the time if recruiters use social media, it is like an extra step to background checks and screenings before the interviews. Social Media allows for employers to have additional information of their prospective candidate before hiring. These statistics show that employers look at a person’s profile based on the information that is public or accessible; yet the employer uses that decision to hire the future candidate. Based on what a person post, there are heavy consequenc...
Those two jobs would be an executive recruiter and a training and development manager. For the training and development manager position I would need creativity skills to get the people trained in, I would also need presentation skills to create training programs, I would also need to be an extrovert, and be a solutions oriented thinker. But for the executive recruiter position I would have to have exceptional networking skills, entrepreneurism, a competitive drive and negotiating savvy. I think that I would start with a training and development position and work my way up to be an executive recruiter, which would be my dream
The presence of social media in hiring decisions is something that has become more prevalent with technological advancements. As the usage of social media websites becomes more frequent, the use of these websites in hiring decisions also raises. Issues that arise with social media sites interfering with the hiring process include legality versus ethicality conflicts and discrimination due to specific social identities reflected on profiles of the individual applicants.
My ideal career would allow me to do something that interests me. I enjoy working with words and with numbers. I've also had success in the areas of technology and customer service.
Social media avenues are a new, upcoming, and popular way to advertise for businesses and for people to connect to each other. Alexis Ohanian once said that "Being effective at social media, whether for business or personal use, means capturing people who have short attention spans. They 're only a click away from a picture of a funny cat, so you have to make your thing more compelling than that cat. And that can be a high bar." (Ohanian) Powerful usage of social media can have a big impact.
Most people imagine their dream job is to become a famous actor or a job they have seen done many times. Though because of the progression of technology I would be more suited in a field involving computers. My dream job is to become a successful software engineer because I have always been into computer systems, but can I fit this job, is the career life something I can manage and what opportunities should I go after when becoming a software engineer. Each time I notice how a program is used I wonder how can I make it become faster or more efficient. When you are using your cell phone or iPad there is usually an update at every month. This is because apple is improving the speed of your applications. A software engineer is sometimes overlooked, but without software engineer’s applications would either crash or would not improve. Although most people may feel looking at a computer all day and trying to fix it is uninteresting, I find it challenging
