Recommended: Describe a hero
A hero can be defined in many different ways. Most people have different role models they call their hero. Some heroes to people may be a famous athlete, singer, or an actor but my hero is different than others. My mother is my hero for many different reasons a hero would be described as. My hero may just look like a normal person you see but many people do not realize that this woman puts a huge impact on my life. She may be a foot shorter than me but her heart is huge. My mom is a strong, courageous, and a positive woman. She may not be a firefighter, soldier or even a famous but she sure has the characteristics of a hero in my definition.
A hero is strong no matter what obstacle they are given. It was the end of my fourth grade year and

My mother is a courageous woman because of how brave she is in my different situations. For example, when I was in the first grade our current home at the time burned down. We lost everything from clothes, jewelry, toys, family photos and everything else you could think of. Even when this happened my mom was courageous. She did not let the fact that our home was destroyed by a fire get to her and let her down because she knew she had to be strong for my brother and I. That is what heroes do for others. Even though there may be a million reasons to be upset heroes do not let anything upset them. Heroes know they have to be strong for not only themselves but for the people who mean the most them. My mother is a courageous, strong woman.
A hero is always positive. My mother is a positive person and her positivity stands out. When I was in eighth grade I was injured in the face by a line dive hit right under my eye during my softball game. I was the only person on my team that played that position. The game was stopped while I was getting checked out. Usually a mother of a hurt athlete gets really worried and freaks out. Not my mother, she was positive the whole time smiling, saying that everything was going to be alright. Then, she said her famous line to me, “Oh, just rub some dirt on it and keep it
A person who overcomes antagonistic and unnecessary issues in a mature and powering manor. That is the definition of a hero to me. Someone who is being hurt and sees others hurt from the actions and takes charge and does everything in his power to change it. Someone who puts others before themselves and acts in the most chivalrous way. The definition of a hero is different for everyone. Some one might think of a hero as someone who can lift a car and put it on their back, or gives a dying person their kidney. Yes all of those people are forms of hero’s. You can’t tell someone that they are not a hero just because they don’t change into a disguise in a telephone both or can throw lightning bolts from a cloud. Everyone is a hero in their own way.
A hero is defined as "someone admired for his bravery, great deeds or noble qualities". There are three categories to which all heroes can be classified into, one of which is the anti-hero genre.
Who is a hero? In contemporary times, usage of the term has become somewhat of a cliché. Over the years, the term “hero” has become representative of a wide variety of individuals, each possessing differing traits. Some of the answers put forth by my colleagues (during our in-class discussion on heroism) as to whom they consider heroes pointed to celebrities, athletes, teachers and family members. Although the occupations differed, each of their heroes bore qualities that my classmates perceived as extraordinary, whether morally or physically. Nonetheless, Webster’s defines “hero” as “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” Thus, it is worth considering that individuals become heroes relative to the situation with which they’re faced.
One defining characteristic of every hero is that she thinks of others before herself. Many people, when called upon to name the heroes in their lives, will mention a parent or teacher who clearly put the needs of her children, above their own. When someone acts proves he cares more about those around him than he does even about his own life, he is considered a hero. Johnny Appleseed sacrificed many things in order to help other, the same applies to us.

In order for me to better explain what I believe to be a hero, I want to describe the hero in my life; my Father. My dad is an exceptional man, not only has he been in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years and counting, going on numerous tours overseas, he is a student pursuing his Master’s degree. He is a basketball or baseball coach depending on what sport my siblings and I are currently in to, he is a math or English
A hero is a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal. John Barth, an American novelist, once wrote, “Everyone is necessarily the hero of its own life story” (FamousQuotes.com). A hero is not someone who is cowardly or scared he/she is never a bully or afraid to stand up to one. A hero is not afraid to do the right thing or correct the wrong thing. So what exactly is a hero? Parents are true heroes. Most parental units sacrifice time, money, love and everything else for their children. When times are tough good parents do all they can to make things better for their children. Mothers and fathers often work two jobs, late at night, or on weekends to provide for their kids. My mom is always there for me when I am sick, telling me she wishes she were the sick one. She also reassures me that she always has an extra kidney if I happen to need one. I personally view my parents as true heroes for all they do, have done, and will do.
My mother is my hero because she has taught me to treat others with compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She taught me that those values were important in the best way, by living her own life according to them. She didn’t just tell me about values she felt were important, she lived by them. I have always admired my mother and felt so blessed to have her in my life. I know I am a better person for having her for a mother.
When one thinks of heroes, names such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa often come to mind. These people had done a lot of favors, courage, helps, and more of things for the people who needed them. They have change the world. But, heroes can be in anyway, even in each of individuals in the world. I have the persons who I think is the best hero in my mind. They are my parents.
When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today.
All in all, my mother has had a great impact on my life. She encourages me to always grow and blossom into a better person each day of my life. No matter what happens in life, she has taught me to have faith and keep a smile on my face because better days will come. She’s been supportive and makes sure that I continue to prosper. Also, she has helped mold me into the young adult I am today and the success adult that I am sure to be in my future. My mother has greatly affected my life and for that she is greatly
