My education was much different than many of the people my age. Being healthy was not always important to me but now is a big influencer in my life. Health and fitness has impacted me heavily in my career choice and my future goals. My schooling, passion for better health and future goals influence me to achieve great in college. I was born early morning in Deland Fl. hospital on March 1, 1998. My parents named me Gabriella Yvonne Vance but I prefer to go by Gabby. My parents homeschooled me in the 2nd grade. My mother was my teacher for the majority of early education. In high school I was given choice of going to public school or to attend to a home school co op. As a family we made the decision to continue home schooling. I …show more content…
College helps me achieve my goals by instilling life skill that will be needed in my future. One of these life skills is determination which is essential to getting a job at Vanderbilt and opening my own gym. Another life skill that is critical to success is giving me the basic skills to become a dietitian. Going to college to become a dietitian is extremely important to being successful in my life. Without college I could not become a dietitian and make enough money to open a gym or eventually open my own Taekwondo school. Also without a dietitian I could not afford to continue to achieve my fitness goals and gym activities. Colleges importance is great in my life. Without it I would not even be able to get close to my future goals. My success in school has been very crucial to my family and me. My fitness achievements are extremely important to me and I hope to continue to improve. Becoming a dietitian is just one way my passion for better health has influences my life choices and goals. Even though bettering others health and mine is important, without going to college I would never have the chance to succeed in any of my life
There will be opportunities for you to take, such as sports like football, basketball or clubs like FFA or Trust. I decided to stick with cross country and FCCLA. They have help me, with FCCLA I have grown as a stronger leader, before FCCLA I was a shy kid, and now i'm a state officer. Also I have been able to travel the United States, from Washington D.C. to San Diego, and I have been able to meet some amazing people along the way. Cross country has helped me stay in shape for the long run. By joining Cross Country I have not only
Based on Three Reasons College Still Matters, there are three main reasons why a college education is so important. From an economical standpoint, an education is most of the time needed to earn enough money to live comfortably. Attending and completing college provides a possibility for future economic stability. Within a highly competitive workforce a college degree can put a foot in the door to a job of a person’s choice. Statistics show that people who obtain a bachelor’s degree or higher get paid more than those who do not obtain one. Many question the worth of a college degree because of how expensive it is, though some say that the money spent is an investment on a person’s future. One can say that the worth of a college education is within the eye of the beholder. Many q...
A volleyball player cannot jump higher from not playing in a week. A student cannot become smarter without going to school everyday and listening to their teachers. When you are dedicated, you want it. I am dedicated to my education, that being the case, I participate in a great deal of school clubs and activities. I was on the AMS Battle of The Books team, which had won the county competition and continued to Regionals. Since sixth grade, I have been included in Honor Society and have maintained high honor roll for three years. Currently, I am the vice president of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). Athletic wise, I was on the volleyball team for both seventh and eighth grade. Education is not all about fun and games, there is hard work and strong commitment involved. I want to be surrounded by a group of students who are just as serious about their education as I am. Social Studies and math are two of my favorite subjects. Which are also two subject I excel
In closing, college will be a great opportunity for me to create lifelong memories and friends. College will not only set me on the path of success, but will also inspire other people and maybe even my future kids to get a college
College. Educational benefits that can help a person succeed in the vast majority of life’s careers. When I think of college, I think of hard work. I think of the dedication it takes to achieve a universal goal. Graduate with a degree that will further help to apply for a desired job. The course to get there may not be easy, but when the rich feeling of obtaining a diploma is near, it is more than worth the time. My road to success with college may differ from the average student. See, I am currently enlisted in the United States Air Force. To better understand my goals of college, one could look at the time and money it will take for me to graduate, how college benefits me, and more specifically, how English composition will better my future.
Encouragement plays a significant role in my success. Without encouragement, the achievement won't come true. Juliet Ferking, the author of "A Drive to Achieve the Extraordinary" from This I Believe: Life Lessons, tells her story about how she succeeds at things that normal people don't. No matter what people say, she achieved big things in her life. Her only encouragement are those who actually supported her (Ferking). My connection to Ferking's essay is that without the encouragement that my family and friends are giving me, I wouldn't have the motivation to pursue my degree to have a good career. Even if other people ridicule my choice of degree, I won't succumb to their words.
Today, in the contemporary United States, there are many different influencers to a person’s health, such as poverty and/or unemployment. However, education is the most important influence on health because without a good, thorough education, people are less likely to have access to health care, be able to afford health care and they are more likely to live shorter lives. A lack of education makes poverty and unemployment more likely, which obviously have a negative effect on a person’s health.
Why is college education important, it opens many doors and provides many advantages and opportunities. I believe without a college education you can only really get a basic job. College education to me holds the key to a successful career and a brighter future. A college education is like a very lucrative investment. This takes a myriad of hours, precise planning and sacrifice. Many people question whether college is really worth the money or the time. However, the reasons to invest in higher education extend past just the financial. People who question if college won’t be beneficial to them, don’t have clarity, I believe without a doubt if I work hard, and connect with the right people I and or anyone will find success in their own respective field.
I have a very active lifestyle resulting in a wide variety of interests outside of the classroom. I have always had a deep life-long passion for sports. I represented my high schools varsity volleyball and basketball teams as well as partaking in an adult slow-pitch softball league throughout high school and into college. Other sports and activities I enjoy include Tae-kwon-do, soccer, fast-pitch softball, tennis, callisthenic and weighted workouts, running, hiking and biking.

A more detailed approach would be what Rhiannon said, to look at it as an investment rather than an expense. On-site gyms with trainers and incentive
Dietitians are today’s secret heroes. What would athletes, patients, and clients of all ages do without them? This is definitely the career I see myself doing when I mature and get older because I know some people in the world really desire to be a better in shape. We only have one body so we have to take as much care of it as possible. It has always been my interest to help people work out and give advice especially my friends, but this is much bigger, it’s helping the world. I find this career interesting because not only do nutritionists get the chance to travel, work in various places or get the opportunity to meet different people but they put their heart in their job.
I am inspired to explore the field of dietetics which is very broad and dietitians perform a variety of functions in their jobs. As a dietitian, I can work in a wide variety of positions such as a foodservice manager in commercial or institutional, a community nutritionist, such as the WIC and Headstart, a consultant to major food corporations such as Kelloggs and Kraft or go into sales. I am very interested in working in a position where I can help people develop habits to improve their health. I may eventually go on to graduate school to advance my knowledge of dietetics.
The biggest social institution that made an impact on my life was my education. For my whole
Throughout my lifetime, goals have always been a determining factor in the way I approach my day. Whether it be making the middle school talent show, or getting a good score on a test, goals have always been there to push me forward. Now that I have entered college, my long lists of goals have been a little more specific. Unlike before, I now acknowledge the specific strengths and weaknesses I have when reaching for them. For this school year, I have come up with three very important goals that I believe will help strengthen and make my first year in college a little more memorable. This year I will use numerous strategies to become better at effective speaking, reading difficult texts, and have a deeper knowledge in the engineering field.
