My Goals For Joining The Peace Corps

My overall goal for the future is to one day be the ambassador for a country that is not the most stable of places, whether that be an African country or one in Latin America. In order to achieve my goal, my future plans consist of graduating from college as a first generation Hispanic and afterwards applying to the Peace Corps. I feel as if being a member of the Peace Corps would allow me the opportunity to have a hands on experience that I would otherwise not have. I wish to join the Peace Corps as a result of a dream I have and hope to achieve by working as a missionary and in joining the Peace Corps, I would not only be helping myself with my future endeavors but would also allow me the opportunity of working with people that are in need

of aid. After returning from working in the Peace Corps, I would enjoy working either at a non-government organization or in working for the State Department. To me it seems as if either of these two paths would allow me the opportunity of working with different countries, be it in diplomacy or in serving people in other countries that need our support. I would like to be able to work in the diplomatic field due to the fact that I have always had a love for different cultures and a strong sense in wanting to help and aid those that are in need. If in the end, working in a diplomatic field does not work, I plan to receive a business minor that’ll allow me to use both my international relations major along with business minor and to bring forth my knowledge of different countries and how to communications amongst them works while maintaining the business aspect of it all.
