I have several goals that I plan to achieve. First of all, I want to get a bachelor’s degree in business. To complete this goal, I will attend a two-year college and then transfer to a four-year college to finish my education or I will attend a four-year college such as Wayne State University or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Secondly, I want to be successful in life. Achieving success comes through hard work and dedication to the endeavors I’m trying to reach. Once I set goals in life, I will reach them by establishing solutions and not bypassing the task at hand. In addition, one of my goals during college is to be on the dean’s list. As I have achieved academic success in high school, I would like to continue that through my college …show more content…
One of the most important goals I have is to be involved in my community and/or other clubs. Being involved enhances one’s ability to connect and build friendships and relationships with other people. During college, I will join several clubs that I could see myself enjoying. After college, I intend to run for city office and help improve our community.
Throughout my life, I have obtained several strengths and weaknesses. For example, some of my strengths include having a strong work ethic and being a problem solver. First of all, obtaining a strong work ethic was vital in my growth as a person. In the past week, one of my customers have directly said, “Verdigre needs more kids like you that want to work.” In any task I am asked to do, I work as hard as I can to finish that task. The other strength I listed was my ability to be a problem solver. In every part of life, individuals and groups will come across problems. To solve these problems, usually a leader or mentor is able to present solutions by analyzing and

Beginning with school, I serve as a mentor to younger students throughout our high school. By being a mentor, I lead these fellow students in the right direction. To add to that, I have also served as a Parliamentarian for our local FFA chapter. Leadership is found everywhere. For instance, I am a strong leader at my job. My employer often has me train and instruct new employees. I also set examples to others not only at my job at the nursing home, but in the community. For community service projects, other leaders and myself decide where our community needs improvement. Since there are different forms of leadership, followers of a leader can yield varied results. As I am a leader by example, others tend to go as I do. In addition, I have been placed as a team captain for our football team. Being one of the veteran linemen, my comrades look up to me as I can assist them in several techniques and methods. Numerous leadership skills that I possess have brought me to the young man I am
My academic goals are very well delineated. I want to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Harvey Mudd College. Harvey Mudd
Involvement in marching band, field hockey, and various other activities has given me many opportunities to show leadership. My first leadership opportunity was in eighth grade when I became a WEB leader. While I was a WEB leader, I helped incoming sixth graders get adjusted to middle school life and find their classes on the first day. I also met up with the sixth graders in my group once a month at lunch and got to know them while I asked how school was going and helped them with any issues they had. In marching band, this past season I was a marching captain for my section. I helped the freshmen learn to march, demonstrated proper marching techniques for others, and gave advice to anyone having trouble with part of our marching show. At the start of field hockey season I showed leadership by helping new players learn to play field hockey by demonstrating how
For my academic goal, on the other hand, I am going to graduate high school and continue on to college. During high school, my plan is to take as many advanced classes as possible. I am going to
One of my biggest accomplishments in leadership is being a varsity cheerleader at Conner High School. During my time as a freshman, i looked up to the varsity cheerleaders as they guided and taught the junior varsity and freshmen teams. This past year was my turn to teach cheers at practice, organize the chaos at games, and most importantly
A few leadership experiences that I have had come from athletics. I started playing athletics when I was in the fifth grade and I still continue to play as a senior. Over the years I have had the ability to be one of the leaders of both the softball and basketball teams for my school. Being a leader has taught me to use leadership skills that I will need later in the future.
The main action through which I have practiced leadership is through volunteer work. Ever since I was young I have been helping an organization known as Grand Canyon Youth provide a river experience to young adults. At first, my main responsibility was to perform warehouse tasks such as sweeping and cleaning. I have gradually moved up in ranks and I now help plan trips and work at fundraisers. This has been my largest philanthropic impact however I have helped my community in other ways such as volunteering to
My top five strengths are both great and damaging to myself. My talent for achieving and competiveness guarantees that I am never satisfied and constantly needing to rise to the top. While these are great strengths to have, it qualifies that I never able to truly rest or feel the satisfaction of a work well done because I am already moving to the next hurdle. However, these strengths are great for...
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
College is the main goal of my life. It is a life dream to go to college to get a degree and get a successful job. Everything that I have done until this point is to get to college. During my senior year I plan to apply to many colleges and to take the SAT's to get into college. My GPA and SAT scores will be crucial for me to get into college. With college I will further my business career, making more successful in the field I enjoy doing.
I have one athletic and one academic goals set to accomplish before I graduate. My academic goal is finish college with a 3.5 GPA to give myself the best opportunity to get a high paying job in
I would describe some of strengths as being able to define clear objectives when working in group settings whether it is in the working world or in academic settings and communicating clearly to the rest of the people in my group when I am in the lead or not. I communicate clearly to other people what I want to achieve out of working in a group, but also what I want them to achieve themselves. As a leader it is imperative that I allow other people in the group to learn and grow along with the rest of the group. I enjoy defining clear objectives when I am a leader and not a leader because it provides the rest of my peers an efficient way of working together. If the objectives are not clear and concise then the productivity of the group will
Some of the experiences that will help me be a good leader, are that I was the vice captain of St. Thomas More primary school, I was the class captain of Casimir Catholic College in Sydney and I was a sport representative of Casimir Catholic Collage in Sydney. I represented my school in cricket, rugby, swimming and cross country. All of these roles are an important part to every school and I am proud to have had these
Being a leader in almost any given situation has been an innate quality that I have possessed for as long as I can remember. I have always found myself nominating myself for leadership positions. My most recent and fulfilling leadership position was in my eleventh and twelfth grade school years when I held the position of Drum Major for Purnell Swett High School’s Marching Rams. Being in this position meant that I had to give up the spotlight of performance, turn my back to the crowd, and lead my fellow band members on and off of the field of competition, high school football games, and community parades. Over the course of these two years, I have learned many defining qualities about myself and have learned how to incorporate these newly learned and innate qualities into my everyday life.
Then in track and field I was a role model to the new members by helping them with their technique, giving them a confidence boost during meets, and demonstrating what we were doing at practice. Leadership is a great skill to have now and in the future because it helps with communication and assisting others to their fullest
