Imagine having to wake up each day wondering if that day will be the last time you see or speak to your father. Individuals should really find a way to recognize that nothing in life is guaranteed and that they should live every day like it could be there last. This is the story of my father’s battle with cancer and the toll it took on himself and everyone close to him. My father was very young when he was first diagnosed with cancer. Lately, his current health situation is much different than what it was just a few months ago. Nobody was ready for what was about to happen to my dad, and I was not ready to take on so many new responsibilities at such an adolescent age. I quickly learned to look at life much differently than I had. Your roles change when you have a parent who is sick. You suddenly become the caregiver to them, not the other way around.
Ken saw something with big green glowing eyes. He thought it was Jake and shined his flashlight on the thing with green glowing eyes. When he did, he saw a weird monster with no hair, just white shriveled skin and long fingers razor sharp, kind of like a rake. The monster turned around real quick and looked at Ken. The monster was covered in blood, and right next to the monster, laying on the ground, was his friend Jake. Jakes’ body was being devoured by this monster. Ken realized Jake was dead, and he was about to die too. So, Ken shot the monster but nothing happened to the monster. Then the monster stood up and charged Ken, and Ken was frozen in fear, and he knew he was going to die. Twenty seconds later Ken was dead, and his body was being devoured just like his friend Jake.

He walked in and told her not to say a word. “Please get me out of here Chris!” said Jessie. “I got you, hold on.” Chris freed Jessie from the rope that was holding her down to the bed. They both ran for the door. *shkkk shkkk* POW! John was right behind them and he blew a hole right through Chris’s torso. “I’m going to get you. You’re the girl who killed my wife in that car accident.” Cried John. Jessie screamed and ran out of the woods where she regrouped back with Carly and Scott. They jumped back in the car and started to head up the road away from where they was with a flat tire. My father passed away in 1991, two weeks before Christmas. I was 25 at the time but until then I had not grown up. I was still an ignorant youth that only cared about finding the next party. My role model was now gone, forcing me to reevaluate the direction my life was heading. I needed to reexamine some of the lessons he taught me through the years.
A dog is running through the woods. There is a rabbit that it saw. The rabbit was slower but it was quicker it was able to run circles around the dog. The dog was chasing and chasing this rabbit through the woods. The dog was panting with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. BANG!!! Out of nowhere, a loud gunshot rang throughout the woods. It echoed back “BANG”. Then the dog. The dog lets out a sharp whine. It knew only one thing though it kept trying to chase the rabbit, which was long gone. The dog whimpered and limped on his leg. He was in pain and could barely walk. Then came a man. The man was holding a gun. He was also dressed in camo from head to toe. The man was a hunter. He had shot the dog an accident. He wanted to shoot the rabbit but had missed and shot the dog. He grabbed the dog and ran him to his car. He had tears streaming down his face. He was exhausted and could barely think but he still hopped in the car and drove. It took him roughly 30 minutes of driving to arrive at the small white building. Now the dog was bloody but still breathing.
My parents are strong in their faith and kept telling my brother and I not to worry
Looking back now I realize that there were many struggles in my years but from those struggles it has made me realize not to take things for granted and to cherish everything you have. The hardest struggle that I had to face was the lose of my grandpa. The month before school started was when everything seemed to be falling apart. August of 2014 was the most difficult month of my family’s life. My grandpa had been in the hospital for a couple days and we never expected that those were going to be our last days with him.During the period of time that he was in the hospital I was not able to be there with him because he lived in Illinois and i was in Wisconsin attending cheerleading practices and other school events. When I got the call my heart
On the day my father died, I remember walking home from school with my cousin on a November fall day, feeling the falling leaves dropping off the trees, hitting my cold bare face. Walking into the house, I could feel the tension and knew that something had happened by the look on my grandmother’s face. As I started to head to the refrigerator, my mother told me to come, and she said that we were going to take a trip to the hospital.
