The year was 2015. My parents had planned to take me on a family vacation, I was told pack for “somewhere tropical”. I’m thinking The Bahamas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, or possibly Mexico. The first thing I did was drive to the mall and buy my so-called cabana clothes which are crushed linen pants, a clean white linen shirt, and of course the style of the era the famous bucket hat. It was officially the day to leave and we are on our way to the airport at 4 in the morning to catch a flight to “somewhere tropical” according to my parents. Anxious to finally be at the gate I am speeding through the airport terminal to get to my gate and see where my plane was taking off to. Come to find out your boys going to Viva La Mexico, the excitement floods my body and I begin to picture me laying on the beach with a sprite in hand or riding jet skis through the pristine waters of the Caribbean. …show more content…
I find myself scanning the pool area of course after i snapchat my entire journey from the gate of the resort to my room and the view. I find out my resort is a very family oriented resort but let me tell you they were not shy of beautiful females in skimpy bathing suits at all. This resort is every bachelor, spring breaker, graduate, or friends dream resort. Everything was all inclusive from the poolside sprite demands to the all you can eat buffets in a beautiful restaurant just a few yards from the
When traveling to a foreign country you never know what to expect. Curiosity of people and cultural norms race through your head. That is how I felt the first time I flew into the Puerto Vallarta airport with my friend Ashley.
I never predicted this beautiful trip ending up as a nightmare in my existence. I drove for approximately 40 minutes and my partner shared the driving for an additional 40 minutes. We were driving my friend mom’s brand new Toyota Camry XLE; one of the most comfortable cars I had ever been in. We enjoyed the elongated ride with new hit music, and air conditioning set to an exact temperature that met our necessities. On the way to the beach some doubts about going there started to circle around our minds, but the fact that we were about half way there made them a...
When I stepped out of the hot, airless plane into the bright, dazzling sunlight beaming down across the burning concreate, I felt excited and nervous. Holding my beach bag in my hand and slipping my Ray Ban sunglasses on with my other, I flip-flopped down the airspace. Overhead I heard the screams of gulls and the chatter of the small fluffy birds. I suddenly realized I had arrived to Hawaii. This trip was such an unforgettable vacation for me because I got to witness the beauty of nature that Hawaii has to offer.
I was carrying my whole life with me, as I walked towards the aircraft. I was carrying two suitcases, filled mainly with clothes and books. I know they were less than 20 kilograms because that was the permissible weight. I could not feel their weight as they were on the trolley. I had a backpack on my shoulders. It contained some eatables, some clothes, a novel, some magazines, a portable CD player, some CDS, a deck of cards, and an inflatable pillow. I was well prepared for my long flight. In my hand I carried as brown leather case containing my passport, visa, and all other personal documents and papers. If I were to lose that case, technically I would cease to exist. Other than that, I had a tennis racket slung over my left shoulder. In short, I was carrying almost all my belongings with me. But that was not all I was taking with me. I was carrying with me memories of 18 years. Things and incidents, long forgotten, resurfaced in my mind, with incredible detail. Every face around me reminded me of uncountable incidents. I was carrying with me a sense of tremendous loss. But, at the same time, I was also carrying with me hope and excitement. A new world called me, and I was looking forward to go there. To protect me in this new place, I had a holy red thread tied on my wrist. That was the explanation my Mom had given me when she was tying it. Though I did not necessarily agree with her, looking at the thread did bring a warm feeling in my heart. It symbolized the love and blessings of my parents which I carried with me, wherever I went.
Atlanta and Miami are both amazing places for vacation because they both have great entertainment, culture, and food. Miami and Atlanta are very different because Miami has many more attractions, an amazing nightlife, and beautiful beaches and Atlanta has a small amount of attractions, nice nightlife, and good weather.
As I stepped off the plane, I felt a dry desert breeze wrap around me and breathed in the smoggy, dusty air. My family and I managed to make our way through...
In the summer of 2015, the summer before my freshman year, my grandmother and I took a trip to the other side of the country. I had never been anywhere west of Tennessee before, so going to California was going to be an exciting experience. My vacation there was like going to a whole other country. The morning of our flight I double checked my bags and made sure I had everything I would need for my trip. Flying into Fresno everything I saw was brown, except for the golf courses. The reason for everything being so brown was because during this time California was in a 5-year drought. Also being in the central valley it’s sandy and desert like. After landing and getting our luggage we stood outside waiting for my uncle to pick us up from the airport. When you think of California you think of perfect weather but stepping outside we were met with 115 degrees of the blazing hot sun. Not exactly what I consider “perfect” weather.
“Were going to Puerto Rico!” my said mom and dad said. We were all so excited and but we didn't know what or where it was, “Puerto Rico is an island off the coast of Florida.” my mom explained to us. “The island has clear water, many beaches, and we have to take a plane to get there!”. I had never been on a plane before so I was even more happy. We talked about it some more, and looked up ‘Culebra, Puerto Rico’. We were going for 10 days and we were leaving in a month. I would miss a couple days of school and so would my sister and her friend.
Ask yourself “if I could take a trip ANYWHERE where would I go” well, I asked myself the same question where would I go? Here is my answer, I would go to the Bahamas because I think that I need to try something new. I think that if I went to the Bahamas then i would try everything because i am very deprived as in i don’t take advantage of the things i could be doing.
As soon as people find out you have a trip planned to go to Mexico, all your relatives are wanting to send a package to their family down south and so that means you can’t pack that extra luggage of shoes you want to take. The minivan is all packed and ready for takeoff. Then comes the morning of the trip, having to wake up at dawn with everyone looking like zombies carrying cell phones, pillows, blankets, and car chargers down stairs into the van, ready to go. Eight hours into the trip we have all slept, played Uno, read a couple chapters of our favorite books, and are already
Now, it almost seems like a cliche to say that I had my own special blanket when I was seven, but I sincerely believed that the blanket I owned was the very center of my universe. It was old, my Grandma had it for years before she gave it to me, and I treasured it. It was a pale sky-blue, a reminiscent of its original royal blue, and had tiny pink flowers scattered throughout it. I had agreed to leave it behind if I got a new one, so I begrudgingly pushed all thoughts about my blanket aside and carried on. The airport experience wasn’t bad, but it was slow. My Aunt had worked in that airport for years, and with every checkpoint we passed we faced more and more of her ex-coworkers, which were… “talkative” to say the least. After

I had been to Spain before and knew it was the perfect place if you wanted sun, peace and quiet. As soon as I got off the plane I could feel the humidity and smell sweat in the air, even though the airport was air-conditioned. Our rental car wasn’t big enough to fit all three of our suitcases in the boot so we had to put the third, and the biggest, on the backseat of the car making a barrier between me and my younger brother. Sleep came soon as I had no sleep on the journey so far and was rudely awoken at 4:30 in the morning to get to the airport.
I was just boarding the plane to go to Arizona. We were going to Tucson, Az to visit my grandparents. We always have fun there. We almost always go swimming on their pool because on average, the temp there is around 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Just because it’s hot, doesn’t mean that it’s gonna ruin a great trip to Arizona. The plane rides to Arizona are always long and cool rides. I mean “cool” in both it was Air Conditioned and Awesome! After 4 hours into our flight, and the Pilot says over the speakerphone, “New Mexico dead ahead!” I looked at and out my window, and I see… Mountains. Only mountains. Then there was the problem. The plane hit turbulence and sent the plane in a downward dive.. In my head I was saying, we are going to die!!. Then,
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
