It's hard to believe that in five years I will be completed with my bachelor’s degree. Five years ago I thought it was near impossible to comprehend that I would be a senior and now that I am a senior I find it hard to believe that soon I will be in college. Over the next five years I will grow as a person, how I will grow is up to fate. I might be a calm and collected person or I could end up as a stressed out crazy person. We can not know what fate has in store for us, but we can try to prepare for future outcomes. Over the next five years I hope to improve my education, profession, and personal goals. My educational goals for the next five years involve getting my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I have a keen interest in the minds of other people and their behavior, so I wanted a degree that will help me understand others. I will have a minor in sociology to help strengthen my understanding of other social groups. I will get my bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Indiana. During the education at USI, I will complete a study abroad program. I have not decided where I want to go, but I am leaning toward Germany or the United Kingdom. I plan to further my education by going to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, so that I can get my master’s …show more content…
During my stay at the University of Southern Indiana, I will be working on campus, either in administration or in the university library. I will work on campus for four years to help save money to get my master’s degree. After I get my bachelor’s degree in psychology, I will work in Bloomington, Indiana as a family case manager. While I have this job I will be working towards my master’s degree at Indiana University. I plan to have many small time jobs to help further along my education, so that I can finally obtain a doctorate degree and get my dream job of having my own independent therapy
I would hope to allow myself to distinguish myself from other students and make myself more prevalent and outstanding in my specific classes. As I would like to purse a degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology, I would like to become an ‘All around Psychologist’ dabbling in numerous sections of the ‘Psychology life.’ It is my belief that this HBCU would give me all mental and educational tools that will aid me in being the best in my chosen field. It is not that I do not like the educational system at my current university, it is just that i feel as though I can excel beyond measures at my new university coming this Spring.
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I write to you today to express my intentions towards my future endeavors once graduating from your humble establishment with a degree in applied behavioral analysis. My intentions are to graduate from Saint Joseph 's University with a degree in applied behavioral analysis, then to proceed onto the next step in my career as a behavior specialist councilor, where I can help families through creating concrete goals and plans and models to measure these goals, as well as to ensure that parents are supplied with the resources required and an efficient team to help them.
The path I have taken toward obtaining my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Management, and Economics, with a concentration in Marketing, has been different than I expected when I first started college. I started at Brooklyn College at 17-years-old and frankly, I wasn’t ready for it. I struggled to balance an awkward schedule of classes and inconsistent study habits. I never felt completely comfortable there and after two years of performing poorly, I enrolled at Kingsborough Community College. I viewed it as a new start and seized the opportunity. I decided to major in Business Administration; I made the Dean’s List, and saw my grades improve dramatically. After completing 74 total credits, I decided I was ready to return to a four-year-college. I initially considered returning to Brooklyn College but at this time my grandmother had become ill. I applied to the College of Staten Island which was near her home and would make it possible for me to help her out with whatever she needed and attend school locally. This worked out great for my first semester. I carried a 3.47 GPA and decided to major in Business, with a concentration in Marketing. At this time, I was working part-time while in school. But due to certain circumstances, I was forced to obtain a full-time job in addition to other part-time commitment. This made it very difficult for me to enroll in classes as most of the upper-level marketing classes that I needed for graduation were only offered during the day when I would now be working. I enrolled in night and weekend classes for the next two semesters but my grades began to suffer. In the last semester I tried to register at the College of Staten Island, I couldn’t fit the courses I needed into my ever-growing w...
I expect that graduate work at the University of Somewhere will be demanding, challenging, and exciting, and I look forward to attending a program of this sort. During my time in graduate school I expect to receive the opportunity to learn, grow, and evolve as a person and a psychologist.
My first semester in college, I took a Psychology 101 course and immediately knew I wanted to work in this field. I was drawn into different theories and how individual’s minds work. I always believed I was born to help others and guide them to success in life. I desire to help others because of my own personal struggles with mental illness. My unique perspective on mental illness allows me to empathize on a different level with individuals. I desire to give back and support to the community the way it was there for me during my dark times. I was lucky to have known from the start that psychology was my interest. I am excited to continue my education in the counseling field and become a future Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
My interest in Psychology began in 2012, when I had the opportunity to research on my own about the subject. After I embarked on an introductory course in Psychology to relieve the boredom of working in a call centre, I then was motivated to continue with my studies. After securing my Higher and HNC in Social Science – I continued with the HND.
Educational Goals: Education is extremely important part of my past, present, and future goals. I currently hold an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design Media. I have found that an A.A.S Degree does not go as far al I originally intended in the Rochester, MN area and furthering my education will be a necessity for my future career goals. Over the past 2 years I have been working on my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the Minnesota School of Business Rochester campus. I am currently a senior with 3 quarters left before a spring graduation. After a June graduation, I plan on taking a summer quarter break. After summer break I will either continue on at MSB for my Masters in Business Administration with a Minor in Marketing or transferring the University of Minnesota for my Masters in Adult Education. After my Masters Degree is complete I will decide at that time if I wish to continue on and achieve my Ph.D.
My plan after college is to become a Sociologist or a Social Worker. With a college degree in one of these areas, I hope to impact my community in various ways. First, with the knowledge obtained from college, I hope to counsel with young people who are on the verge of going astray. In today's society, there are so many negative factors that influence young people. I want to help them understand the importance of setting goals and striving to become productive citizens. I also want to give them a sense of hope that with perseverance, they can become great role models for other young people.
I spent a good portion of my life striving to succeed at what I have defined as successful. I am the first grandchild out 33 grandchildren to graduate with a college degree. To my family, this is a huge accomplishment. However, I feel that there is more to be learned and more to be achieved. I have set a personal goal of obtaining a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
In the fall semester of 2017, I hope to study abroad in Marburg, Germany. I want to study at Philipps-Universität with the IUSP program. There are many reasons why I feel this program would be a good fit for me. I like the fact that it would allow me to study abroad at a German university while still having a strong support system as an international student. My main goal of studying abroad is to become more confident in and strengthen my German language skills.
Education has always been a primary concern for my parents, who taught me that if I need to succeed in life, I have to be educated. Following their guide, I have always valued and tried to get the most of any educational opportunity I have had. Having grown up in a business family, I have always been interested in focusing my career in the business field. My Mother and Father own their own company, and they are constantly talking about business, which has inspired me to follow their path. When my parents retire, they want me to carry on their legacy. For this reason, I have decided to pursue my studies in the field of Business and Leadership at Marylhurst University. I want to pursue a well-rounded education at this established university where I also can have life experiences in the outside world, which will ultimately help me to become a successful leader in our family business.
As I gradually make my way through this semester, I have come to realize that I am called to go into Psychology. I love watching people and trying to figure out why they act the way that they do. I, also, love knowing that I have finally figured out what careers I want to pursue. I want to become either a clinical or counseling psychologist, which both have the same requirements for everything – majors , classes, ect. So, I do not have to decide right off the bat on which career I want to pursue. Since I am planning on majoring in Psychology, I decide to do some research on my own, as well as go to a major’s fair hosted at the IU Southeast campus.
I want to obtain my bachelor’s degree and secure a job as a direct social worker. This will allow me to gain experience and broaden my knowledge in the field of social work. As a direct social worker, I will be able to work with children, adults and families. I will be able to also work with people in crisis to include child abuse, rape and domestic violent cases. All this experience will help me determine exactly what field I want to specialize in as I further my education. While working as a direct social worker, I am going back to school to obtain my master’s degree. Ultimately, I want to obtain a master’s degree and go into the clinical setting. Once I earn my master’s degree, I want to immediately start working under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker to obtain the hours I need to take the state exam. Once I pass the state exam I will apply for my license to advance in my career. Eventually I want to be an advocate for the social justice of
My goal is to work in a mental health setting as soon as I graduate with my BSW. I would like to see if I should get my masters in social work or get my doctorate in psychology. Either way, I feel like I will be doing a great thing. As a professional, I want to help many people with their problems. I will encourage their opinions and ideas as well as help them form plans to better their
