My Dream of Becoming a Veterinarian
As far back as Dawn can remember she has always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. It all started when Dawn’s parents gave her, Samson, Doberman pinscher puppy as her first pet. They grew up to become best friends. At age 12, her best friend had developed a tumor on his chest. It devastated Dawn that she could do nothing for her friend. She had no way of helping him. This was just one of the signs that everything she had felt in her heart was meant to be. For her, to become a veterinarian, so she could help animals.
While in high school, she volunteered in vet’s office so she could be closer to animals. After high school, she had planned on going to college to follow her dream. However, life had other plans for her, she discovered she was pregnant. Following her dreams had to go on the back burner for now. Dawn tried to find a job that would support her & her son. All she could find was minimum wage jobs with crazy hours.
Therefore, she went to a local college & signed up for classes, she was going to major in Accounting. She was good at math in high school; she thought that Accounting would be a great job. It was not her dream job but in the end, Accounting would pay the bills. At the end of her first year of college, she discovered she was again pregnant with her second son. After the birth of her second son, she was involved in an abusive relationship with the father of her son. Dawn took time off from school to get her life in order if not for her for her children. After getting her life in order, she graduated from college with an Associates Degree in Accounting. After getting her degree, she worked several jobs such as an Accounts Payable Clerk, an Administrative Assistant, an Offic...

Soon, she started believing herself. She decided she was going to attend the same schools she had planned to attend back in high school, Morehead State University & Auburn University. Dawn started to doubt herself again. How could she make in a school with people ten years younger than her? What would they think of her going back to school at her age especially for what she wanted to do? How will she ever make it? However, Dawn being the determined person she is wasn’t going to let anything stop her this time. It was now or never plus she wasn’t going back to school for them she was going for her & her family. She has to keep her mind heading in the right direction. No matter what Dawn feels, she will always be a little bit scared. But you just cannot live by being scared; life will happen the way it is supposed to happen you just have to enjoy the ride.
In Chapter One she makes a start in Key West. In this chapter she learns a lot about low-wage-job applications. Each application she fills out has many multi choice questions and later on a urine test. She ends up waiting many days hearing nothing back and then applying for a job waitressing. She's hired and is paid $2.43 and hour plus tips.
Faye is fighting to re-home animals that have been abandoned and abused. Since 2012 she has re-homed more than 60 dogs, and about 20 kittens. Faye says, “I would do anything no matter what to save one animal.” It’s as if her whole entire life revolves around saving animals. Faye thinks just by adopting an animal you can help animal abandonment. Also, Faye has her own book on why animal abandonment isn’t good. Although Faye thinks her job is stressful, she thinks it’s easy because she enjoys doing her job and helping animals find a home.

Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are not limited to, a high job outlook, great room for advancement, and only two years of schooling (depending on the route you take). Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.
Langston Hughes’s “Mother to Son” was first published in Crisis magazine in 1922. In the poem, a hopeful mother warns her child that many trails will present themselves to him over the course of his life. The mother encourages her son that no matter what, he must triumph over the struggles and continue to press forward. She relates life’s rigorous journey to climbing a staircase. The mother explains how her life has not been easy, or in other words, “a staircase made of crystal” The life of the mother has been an endless struggle described as stairs with protuberant nails and fragments of wood sticking out, boards ripped up and spaces where carpet was omitted. Though she described her life as an almost unclimbable staircase, she kept moving onward. She wants her son to do as she has done and pull motivation from her severe situations and remain steady.
Introductory Paragraph: Propaganda is a tool of influence that Adolph Hitler used to abuse the German population by brainwashing them and completely deteriorating an entire race. How does one person get the beliefs of an entire country? Hitler put Joseph Goebbels in charge of the propaganda movement. Goebbels controlled every element of propaganda, there were many varieties of Nazi Propaganda. Propaganda was also being used as a tool to gain the support of the German population for the war, and supporting their government. The Jew’s were the targeted race and were completely pulverized by the Nazi’s. Hitler not only tried to destroy an entire race, he gained complete control of an entire country.
A Veterinarian Technician (vet techs) can have a rough life when the job involves saving animals. However the job takes, schooling, commitment, and having passion and love for animals. Being able to work and handle animals is a dream come true; it allows people to see what a pet could do for it’s handler. Maintaining a job that researches certain illnesses and broken bones allows a veterinarian technician to help animals in need. This helps bridge the gap between environment and families all over the world who love animals.
During Hitler’s reign in Germany, propaganda was his main method of control. He and the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or Nazis, believed that to remain in control, it is necessary to prevent any and all internal unrest through strictly regulated popular opinion. The mission was to keep public opinion in favor of the Nazi party’s ideology. One of the primary aspects of their ideology was extreme anti-Semitism and racial inequality. Within years they were able to introduce this belief to nearly all of the German people through heavy influence by propaganda. Hitler was able to stabilize and dictate his Germany for years through propaganda aimed to control the lives of the youth, the opinions of the general public, and beliefs about the war effort and well-being of the country.
Make it through high school, through college, through medical school, and to a career. The college that she wants to go to is in Washington. The reason she wants to attend there is because, quite frankly, she feels that she doesn’t fit well in Wisconsin. Also, she went to visit family down there in 6th grade, and there was nothing like the skyscrapers and the mountains in the same place. It made her feel at home in a state. She learned that Washington has a wonderful forensics program, and not many kids want to go into the same field she does so she has a pretty high chance of getting in. Wisconsin bores her, Makenna is interested in more cities like sights, and all Wisconsin really has is cows and corn. She wants to go to schooling to become a forensic pathologist and graduate with straight A’s. Then her goals would be to bring peace to families of murder victims. “It may sound weird, but sometimes it helps to know how someone died, and it's comforting to know if they went peacefully.” she says. Adding on to more goals in her life, even though she doesn't want any kids, she’d like to definitely get
“Propaganda is a truly terrible weapon in the hands of an expert.” A master of illusion, Adolf Hitler knew how to use propaganda to “educate” the masses. Hitler knew the importance of propaganda and the effects it could have on a population. Propaganda was essential to his idea of a perfect state that he devoted two chapters in Mein Kampf to the subject. “As well as being a very charismatic leader in his own right, Hitler knew that propaganda was the best way to sway the masses to support his views, and was cunning in his dissemination of propaganda.” Hitler and Nazi top officials used propaganda as the chief method that projected the ideology. Hitler’s chief architect (Albert Speer) told the Nuremberg Tribunal that what distinguished the
Germany was radically monopolized by propaganda, it emphasized German prowess. Hitler was aware of valuable propaganda and so he appointed Joseph Goebbels as the Minister of Propaganda and National Enlightenment. Goebbels had to ensure nobody in Germany encountered anything that was hostile to the Nazi Party, he also had to make sure that the views of the Nazis were put across in the most persuasive and convincing manner. He executed this by making sure that all newspapers, films, radio programs, plays and other forms of entertainments displayed Nazi ideas.
Cluttered trash filled parks, waste filled rivers, and town sized landfills and that is what awaits the people of earth if nothing is done to aid in the efforts to keep the world clean and recycling is one best and most beneficial ways to do just that. The truth is a frightening thing however it is true if we don’t act to improve our habits soon it might just be a reality, recycling should be mandatory for all households in order to prevent this trash filled grim future.
One of Langston Hughes earliest poems, “Mother to Son” is a piece of empowerment in the form of a conversation between a mother and her child. Her own upbringing and traumatic experiences, allows her to instill words of wisdom into her son as he begins his journey. “Mother to Son” successfully acknowledges unequal opportunity in America as well as the struggles one may face in attempting to live the American Dream. Langston Hughes uses diction, metaphor, and imagery in order to convey the story of a woman for whom opportunity was tight, yet still persevered.
...se cans out of our rivers and parks. Everyone should get involved with a local recycling program of some sorts. Every city has recycling bins for newspapers, paper, cans, bottles, plastics, almost everything there is. When people get involved, the landfills, and the environment will all be greatly inproved. So take the time to recycle and America will truly be a beautiful place to live.
An important part of recycling is conservation. Conservation helps keep unneeded waste out of landfills in the United States (Conserve Energy Future 2). As Americans, an average person throws away 4.8 pounds of waste daily. This adds up to over 1750 pounds in a year alone, for one person. In 2006, Americans generated 251 tons of waste (Riedel 11). Of this waste over 50 percent could be recycled into new materials to be used again. In doing this, recycling will tremendously
