My Classroom Management Philosophy

Classroom management is the way that a teacher keeps order and gets the student involved. It includes; physical organization, classroom routines, classroom climate, behavior management and the use of time for instruction. Each part is vital to a student’s learning experience and has to be created based off of the students. Physical organization is an important part of keeping the classroom in order and helping the students learn. Physical organization deals with how the walls, floor space and lightening in the class room is set up. It is important to have color or something on the walls that make the children feel comfortable and ready to learn. It is important for the children to have something that is a daily activity. This can be anything from a bell ringer that students do right when they come in during the morning or a song at the end of the day. It creates a source of regularity. It helps keep children on tasks and allows them to look forward to an activity. A third part of classroom management entails classroom climate. This is how student treat others in the classroom. It is important to support differences in the classroom. I would make sure that my students didn’t work with the same partners during activates. I would make them draw sticks or count them each off by twos. It is also important to spread student out so I would make a seating chart. This would influence communication between students that normally would not be in contact with one another. Behavior management is another part of keeping a classroom in order and help engage students to learn. This involves monitoring the classroom have having rules. I think it is important to make sure the students are learning and doing what they are suppose to. So after I gave my instructions to an assignment I would walk around the classroom to see who needed additional help. I would make it apparent that the students must raise their hand before talking. I might have a system like I did when I was younger where you have a stop light. If you are on green you behaved well, if you are on yellow you have received a warning and red is a phone call and
