Music and art are basic functions that human cannot function without. Irrespective of whether one is taking pleasure or creating it, sound is unavoidable. Music has been highly valued by people as a significant interaction in life. It has been used for enjoyment, listening, emotional response, and performing. Music reflects and makes social conditions that hold up social change. All kinds of music are available to many people throughout and easily as technological advancements continue to occur. Life contains different occasions requiring appropriate music to fit each occasion. This brings about different types of music which are associated with various occasions and stages in life. The paper identifies and explains the role of music in different stages of life. This paper goes down in detailing types of music in different stages of life and giving their significant roles.

Introduction

One of the greatest creations of a human being in a form and format that is purely undiluted through out the history is music. In definition, it is an arrangement of sounds in a manner that is pleasant and exiting to listen to. In our daily life, music plays important roles ranging from entertainment to comforting. It is said to be passion, energy, joy, creativity, eternal, love, soul, and joy among other attributes. Through music, people express their feelings and emotions, are relieved of pain, reduce stress, calms down, gets excitement in joyful moments, their minds get enriched , and it gives them self confidence . Associated with unique emotions, it is referred to as ‘healing without medicine’ since it has therapeutic effects in treating dementia, depression and trauma as argued by doctors (Singh, 2009). ...n is attracted to any kind of music and researches have shown that its presence and availability makes it the most effective stress reliever. However, it should be noted that constant music can numb someone to its effects resulting to insatiable addiction.
