The never ending song From the start, there was Musacia who had two daughters and one son: Melody who was the youngest, Apollo middle child, and Vox who was the oldest, and they all had talents of their very own. They all lived in a beautiful palace close to a beautiful river. But all of Musacia’s children were loud and annoying to others. They also would sing over each other so it would cause a great racket in the palace. And she would yell up the steps of the palace “ everyone be quiet” and they would stop for only a second and begin to fight again and sing over each other again. So she gave them all jobs to do Melody’s was to keep the song going; Apollo's was to make the song have instrumental sounds; and Vox’s was to sing. At first they
loved their jobs but then they became bored so Vox came up Musacia her mother and said “ my beloved mother could you please switch our jobs for they are becoming boring.” and Musacia Asked “do your siblings agree” and Vox replied “ yes mother” and she said “ very well then” so their jobs were switched and then after awhile they all became bored with all the jobs so their mother said “ i'm so sorry but your jobs are permanent” so Apolo decided to plot a plan to poison his sisters so he put rat poison in their sandwiches and sure enough they died and Musacia sacked “what happens” and Apollo said “ for I have killed them”. In the end Apollo was punished by being forced to take over Vox’s and Melody’s jobs so now he is forced to be music forever. Now the memory of his two sisters will haunt him until the end of time. Don't be jealous of what others have because it will come back to get you in the end.

Fort Morgan is a small town community with a small population. This means that it easy for community members to bond and know each other. One way that the people could bond is through books. More specifically, the One City One Book program. The One City One Book program is a way for the community to get together through discussions of a piece of literacy. The book that would be a good option to use is Enrique’s Journey because it is a nonfiction piece of work that has many lessons to teach people, and it is all through a story of a young boy’s journey. This program would benefit Fort Morgan with Enrique’s Journey because it enlightens the people of the community about the hardships other people have that are not in America, it is an educational
Life is like a game of blackjack where we unknowingly are dealt good or bad cards. This unpredictability makes it difficult to gamble decisions. Unfortunately many factors can lead to the bad card where in both the game and life, people are trying to prevent us from achieving the goal. There are two choices to change the outcome however, we may either give up (fold) or we may take a chance (call). The beauty of taking the risk is that if lucky, life gives you that much-needed card. When dealt that winning card, a person is immediately uplifted. That one good hand drives a person to outweigh the pros from the cons and continue to strive for the winning pot or in this case, the goal in life. Enrique in Sonia Nazario’s “Enrique’s Journey,” is dealt both the good and bad cards in life, as he undergoes a battle of being pushed internally to continue while also being pulled externally to quit, thus leading him to unearth himself as a worthy human being while on the journey to the U.S; sadly however, his arrival in the U.S refutes what he clearly envisioned for himself.
Nezahualcoyotl (Hungry Coyote) born in 1402 in Texcoco, was considered the greatest poet of ancient Mexico. He was the ruler of the city-state of Texcoco, which together with the city-states of Tenochtitlan and Tlacopan made up the Aztec Empire. The Aztec Empire ruled the Valley of Mexico for 93 years (1428-1521) until Hernan Cortes’s Spanish conquistadores and his native allies defeated it. The Aztecs controlled almost all of central Mexico, except the Tlaxcalteca kingdom. However, Nezahualcoyotl was not an Aztec; his people were the Alcohuans, one of the northern tribes that migrated into the Valley of Mexico. After becoming the ruler of his homeland, his talents and vision of the city flourished and Texcoco became the center of the empire.

All music created has some kind of story behind it. It could be a bad story, good story, or even a complicated story. Every artist tells a story in their music that can relate to anyones life. Big Sean’s story on this album, Dark Sky Paradise talks about the bad and the good of paradise. The album has a lot of features from well known artist such as, Drake, Lil Wayne, Jhene Aiko and most importantly Kanye West because he started Sean’s career.
It holds such power over captives and captors alike that they cannot help but feel enamoured to the life it brings. Cesar especially feels the beauty of music “Oh, how he loved to hear the words in his mouth… It didn't matter that he didn't understand the language, he knew what it meant. The words and music fused together and became a part of him” and through music, he discovers his latent talent for singing (224). Based only on Roxanne’s previous arias, Cesar’s potential is outstandingly bright when he sings for the first time without any training whatsoever. Not only do the others learn to appreciate his gift, but Roxanne herself recognizes how promising he is or she would not have bothered to waste her time tutoring him. Beforehand, Cesar is nothing remarkable, just another one of the terrorists who detains them, but the opera transforms him into a separate person. Like the mansion enveloped in the garua, Cesar is heavily shrouded by serious self-esteem issues and fear, but after his breakthrough, his worries suddenly disappear and his life becomes a reservoir of joy. If “life, true life, was something stored in music”, then Cesar has lived a deprived life; his passion for music was just unfolding, but fate robs the world of who “was meant to be the greatest singer of his time” (5,

The madrigal is a distinctive type of secular song that originated in Italy. It was an aristocratic form of poetry and music that flourished at small Italian courts. In the piece, Cruda Amarilli, Monteverdi uses many musical devices that are typical of a madrigal. The lyrics in this song are repeated, the music accompanies the text in interesting ways, and there is a wide range of vocal notes. After listening to the piece just once you can immediately feel the unrequited love Monteverdi is displaying through his words and music. The music and instrumentation in this piece aid the voices to establish form and mood through word painting. He uses word painting and cadences to develop a theme of unrequited love.
For this quarters culture project I went to go see the Fremd production of The Sound of Music. The play takes place in Austria during the time of Nazi rule. The play starts with a woman who is trying to become a nun but, all of the other nuns don't think she is capable of being one. So they send her off to be a governess to the kids of a high ranking Austrian military captain. Upon her arrival she quickly notices how strict the captain is as well as how disciplined his kids act. After the captain leaves, the governess has a chance to get to know the kids a bit better and come to realize the kids don't know what singing so her first order of business is to teach them how to sing. After this, she starts to teach and do things that would be frowned upon by the captain. Later in the play the captain returns home to find his kids singing and not wearing their uniforms. At first this upsets him very much but, he is convinced by the governess that he was being too strict and that he should interact with his kids more often. This is the point in the play that they hit to the audience that the captain and the governess start to have feelings for each other. This is also the point in the play that the captain starts drifting away from the "stay and fight mentality" rather than the "run and protect my family" mentality. Just as he was considering fleeing Austria with his family. He get commissioned by the Nazis against his will. The day before he was supposed to start working there is a culture festival which his family was going to be a part of.
As the play flashes between the sisters and their grandchildren’s lives, music continually appears and serves as a mode of communication for each character. Savra’s side of the family listens to different types of music while connecting with other members in the area to get over their differences. Additionally, Mara’s grandson runs a pirated music shop, where he DJ’s throughout his first scene and repetitively speaks about his connection to music. Therefore, playing music throughout the scenes with each family’s side demonstrates how while everyone might be different, they all share a common passion. Since Eriksen composed his own music, it added an extra significance to scenes between Savra and Mara since intimate and new music served as an undertone to symbolize their
The Chorus is used as an instrument to help the audience to understand and feel Medea’s suffering, and so from this early point in the play, a sympathy is established for Medea because of her tragic circumstances.
The music begins to work by evoking a state of passion, then playing upon this heightened sense of emotion, Ferdinand is drawn in a manner which seems similar to that of the call of the sirens. Ariel's playing and singing while invisible allows the music to be felt like a subtle presence, perhaps coming from the island, perhaps his own mind. Ferdinand is not sure whether it comes from the wat...
Central to the pastoral vision of As You Like It is the setting in the Forest of Ardenne, especially the contrast between it and the ducal court. In the former, there is a powerful political presence which creates dangers. Deception lurks behind many actions, brothers have secret agendas against their brothers, and people have to answer to the arbitrary demands of power.
