Murder Is Wrong

The Bible states “You shall not murder.” (NIV, Exodus 20:13) Some interpret that taking your own life is an irreversible sin. Furthermore, “Whomever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for the image of God had God made man.” (NIV, Genesis 9:6) Therefore, it condemns you to go to hell instead of going to heaven. Though, the reason behind this is that the “last act while alive was committing murder, so they would die with unconfessed sin” (Kay, 2017, para. 4) Consequently, since the person died while committing the last sin, there is no time to repent. In the moment of anger, frustration, and rage, the only solution to solve our problem for some people seems to be taking their ow life. Reason being that when you commit suicide there is no time to repent from the act of sin. Therefore, you are condemned from the sin. Though Hannah wanted all her pain to stop so in the process to teach a lesson to all of those who hurt her. However, it became an act of defiant against God’s command instead. When in the moment of weakness driven by pain, rage, sorrow, and all the emotions that lead a person to take their own life.
