US. For those looking to find Mumford and Sons' albums on music streaming companies like Tidal and Spotify, you definitely won't find any of their music through those services. The band's frontman Marcus Mumford stated that music streaming companies like Tidal only cater to mainstream artists. Even though Tidal's objective is to ensure artists, songwriters, and producers get paid more money for their contributions, Mumford doesn't believe Tidal is beneficial to independent artists. "I think smaller bands should get paid more for it. Bigger bands have other ways of making money, and so I don’t think you can complain. When they say it’s artist-owned, it’s owned by those rich, wealthy artists,” Mumford explained.

It was released in April 2005 as the lead single from their second album, From Under the Cork Tree (2005). With the music composed by lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stumpand all lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, it was the bands first top 10 hit and it launched there career. In an interview with Rolling Stone that he slurred the lyrics in the chorus on purpose to make it sound better and he wanted the song to be a fun punk song. During the writing of the song, the band made 30 changes to it. He said that he saw the lyrics first time he sung it out loud and it sounded excellent so he came up with the rest. I have chosen this song because it brings back so so many significsant memories in my life, such as the first time my family went to America, this song was played almost 5 times every day on the radio. It is also a very lively, energetic song that can turn a frown upside-down in a second. Even when I am having a horrible day, when I get home and listen to this song it makes my day so much better and always brings a smile to my face. This song tells you that you must never give up without a fight and I believe that , that is a excellent morale to sing
It was said to be, "A little ditty about Crystal Meth and oral sex. " (Durchholz 1). These opinions did not stop millions of people around the world from eating up the group's next single, "How's it?" gonna be," a tune with a guitar solo that chills up my spine. Next came another catchy hit,"Losing a whole year", followed by "Jumper", a song about suicide.

Jerry Garcia’s life was filled with wonderful things, many of which he never expected in the first place. After an almost fatal heroin overdose in 1986, “ Garcia philosophically stated, ‘ I’m 45 years old, I’m ready for anything, I didn’t even plan on living this long so all this shit is just add-on stuff.’ ” (“Garcia”) This attitude shows why Garcia did all of the things he did and even how some of them came about. Garcia, who “functioned as the preeminent pied piper of the rock era,” led a life of great artistic ability which he used in many ways(“Grateful Dead_ Rockhall”).
Jim and Marian Jordan, better known as Fibber McGee and Molly were two very important people of their time as well as two very important people to broadcasting as a whole. The impact made on America by the couple was great. The Fibber McGee and Molly show, as well as other shows that the couple were featured on, amused numbers of people throughout the country and influenced many more.
West London-based Mumford & Sons is a folk/indie-rock band that favours atypical instrumentation, conjures up a unique sound, and appeals to a wide range of listeners. Emerging from what some in the media have labeled as the “West London Folk scene”, Mumford and Sons features four 20-something multi-instrumentalists and close friends: Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall, and Ted Dwayne. The English foursome joined forces in December 2007, bonded over a mutual appreciation of folk, rock, country, and bluegrass, and adopted the stage name of Mumford & Sons to give the band a familial connotation. Four years and several live performances later, Mumford & Sons achieved widespread, multi-platinum success with their unique brand of music. Following their performance at the Grammy Awards in February 2011 (alongside Bob Dylan, nonetheless), the band found itself topping music charts, having sold millions of copies of their debut album, Sigh No More, worldwide.
Led Zeppelin was one of the giants of the 1970’s in hard rock. They were also one of the greatest success stories that ever played hard rock music. The group was one the more popular hard rock groups that performed in the seventies, and even had some hits in the 1960’s.
Titus Andronicus has had a fair share of mixed reviews over the last centuries but has still remained a work of fascinating symbolism as well as a violent, poetic story. The story was meant to entertain the lower classes of England at the time who enjoyed such activities as bear baiting, where a bear would have its claws and teeth pulled out before being tied to a post where savage pitt-bulls would bite it to death (White). The people of sixteenth century England were also very accustomed to public hangings and torturous punishments. Colin Burrow, a researcher of early Tudor literature, noted that, "Cruelty is part of Shakespeare's World and it generates a high proportion of the energy into his drama." (Smith 4). When the play was first published, it received exceptional reviews, but later it was spat on as one of the most disgustingly violent and worse written Shakespeare play. How did the reviews turn so sour so quickly? The culture at the time had the most to do with it. With such violent epics such as The Godfather, Scarface, Natural Born Killers, and Pulp Fiction, it is no wonder that Titus Andronicus has once again revealed itself to the masses as an entertaining piece of work. The idolization of violent entertainment in recent years is the reason for the increase of appeal towards Shakespeare's play Titus Andronicus.
On November 9, 2013 I witnessed a band called Paramore perform at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. This performance was one of the stops in their tour called The Self-Titled Tour. The tour also consist of two other bands called Metric and Hellogoodbye. The tour began in Bangkok, Asia on February 12, 2013. And it will end on March 11, 2014 on small island in Miami called the Great Stirrup Cay. Even though Paramore music is given the characteristic of being emo because most of their fans are emo and the image the band members have while performing, its identity is an alternative rock band that combines punk rock music with pop music. Paramore is identified as religious because their creativity and inspiration comes from their Christian religion and is then shown in their lyrics.
In early 1970 the band Queen was formed. Freddie Mercury on vocals, Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and Mike Gross on bass. They had known each other for years. All living in the town of Kensington in Britain, sometimes even living together. Brian and Roger belonged to a band called Smile, and Freddie was a very talented vocalsit playing for the band Ibex. They decided to join forces, to better themselves, and their chances of obtaining fame and fortune. After a few months with only a few gigs Mike Gross left the band. He was replaced by Barry Mitchell, who only played a few gigs with them. After a few short months they were looking for their third bass player. Roger, was at a party one night and was introduced to John Deacon, an electronics major at the University of London and a good bass player. The two hit it off, and Deacon became the new member of Queen.
Bob Dylan said “No one is free, even the birds are chained to the sky.” Bob Dylan said this sentence to describe exactly how people live in the Oceania party. In our life everyone should have their own thought and their thought is different compared to others. But in Oceania everyone’s thought is controlled by Big Brother and their thought is only to serve for the party. In this party the worst crime is “thought crime”. In our real life there is no right or wrong about how you think and no one can control your thoughts.
Consider the possibility that the way to success and achievement has been found. Imagine a scenario in which this key was more than achievable. Truth be told, this key is intuitively incorporated into individuals' day-by-day activities and routines. What if it were affirmed that this key is music. Music is such a powerful constituent of the brain that it has been found to help mental illness and disabilities. For example, people with aphasia, a disease in which one loses his or her capacity to comprehend or express speech, caused by brain damage, can learn how to sing, paying little respect to whether he or she cannot talk as a result of the long haul impacts of music. Music encapsulates a wide element of physical, mental, and pychological
What has the power to make you get up and move, to both inspire you and enrage you? Rock, rap, “pop”, country, and blues are all forms of this phenomenon we call music. Music has been a part of each and everyone of our lives. How often have you heard a song and it brought you back to a place in your past, or reminded you of someone? Chances are you were listening to music that fell into one of the two most popular categories, rock or pop. Both rock and pop can be considered movements in society, however the motivation for these movements were on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Also another thing that they have in common is that once the artists are famous the may both have a tendency to fall off the deep end. This may entail spending thousands of dollars on drugs and alcohol. Eventually many of both pop and rock stars end up in rehab. Even though the lines between rock and pop can be blurred at times there are many distinct differences.
