Mule Deer Still Life and Fossil Creek

I chose to write about the artwork titled “Mule Deer Still Life” by Angela Prond. The artwork is oil on a canvas board. The artwork is a picture of a mule deer skull with its horns still attached. This picture reminds me of hunting, because I do a lot of it and I have shot mule deer before and saved their horns exactly like this picture is. Angela’s title for the artwork makes me believe that she is saying this mule deer still has life and meaning. There is not a lot of background in this artwork, pretty much just the mule deer skull and horns. She did this for a reason, even though the picture is pretty normal and there is not much detail to it, there is more meaning in her title for the picture.

This picture to me is saying that even when a mule deer has died and the only thing left is bones and its horns, there is still life with that deer. The deer has lived a life that none of us could have imagined, no one but that deer could tell the story of its life. The mule deer is a symbol of living and how nature can be so hard on animals. The picture makes you feel like the deer is staring at you and that maybe it is trying to tell you something. I know the excitement that comes with hunting and when you shoot that deer and come up to it, there is nothing in this world that feels better. It is really hard to explain the feeling that comes with hunting, but this picture is a deer that has died and it could have been by a hunter or it could have been just old age or disease. It is hard to tell with this picture what has happened to the mule deer.

It is a little hard to explain what the artist was thinking when she colored this picture, but it could have no meaning and she could have just wanted to draw a mule deer buck skull. I thin...

...can eat and many people have jobs is through farming and we export a lot of our crops and that brings in money for the economy. I think that the US should have more farming and that we should be able to support our whole country from US grown crops and cattle. There is more money and opportunities usually available when you go to cities, but I will never forget how agriculture is such a big thing in my little town and without it there would not be a town there. I love the rolling fields of crops and the smell of burning crops in the spring. There is nothing like it and I will always have a place in my heart for agriculture and will always support it. I have a biased opinion on this though, because I grew up with it and love being out in the quiet and motionless land, where you can see the mountains in the background and you can see every star in the sky with ease.
