The difference of the 2 pictures is that picture 1 is very green with a skinny lake. In picture 2, everything is grey and the lake is much wider and is flowing much quicker. It also has a huge crater which was made because of a landslide. A science reporter named Eric Sorensen created a timeline on the events that occurred at Mount Saint Helens. It said: On the day of March 15, 1980, a frequent series of earthquakes hit Washington State. They grew stronger and stronger. Finally, a strong 5.1 earthquake hit a mile underneath the volcano.
