In this world people all act like something they are not and usually it is to gain something that they desire. This is best shown by Viola from Twelfth Night, Mrs. Dubose from To Kill A Mockingbird and Carries An Axe from The Orenda by Joseph Boyden.
In Twelfth Night, Viola pretended to be her brother so that she could buy herself time to figure out her current predicament. Viola tricked everyone she met into thinking that she was a man, she even caught the heart of the Countess. Then when her brother appeared and everyone was confused, Viola revealed her secret and showed everyone that she was not who they thought she was. Viola was not really doing anything bad when she faked her identity, she tricked everyone but she did not really have any bad intentions and this actually had a good impact on almost everyone, Mrs. Dubose made a good impact on those around her as well. …show more content…

Dubose when they first met her, she was very rude and cruel toward their father and how he was spending his life. Mrs. Dubose once said something that drove Jem over the edge and he performed some regrettable actions to get in his anger. Because of these actions, Jem and Scout had to read to the old woman everyday for a little over a month and it was during this period when they began to see her true colours. They saw that she was dying and she said those terrible things because she wanted to get her thoughts out before she passed. After the poor lady did pass away, she gave something to Jem as a gift, as if to say to him that she did not hold what he did against him, and everything was okay now. What Viola and Mrs. Dubose did both had fairly positive impacts on the ones around them, this is where Carries An Axe was not entirely like them but he did trick someone to get what he
