This case was crazy and had me at the edge of my seat thinking that the first suspect Mr. Gary Lee Daniels was the person who committed the accused crime, but it was Mr. Alexander Romanov. The motive for this horribly crime was human trafficking, which Mr. Romanov had a lot to grant because he was receiving $50,000 a person. (Fish, 2015). Human trafficking is defined as a trade of humans for the purpose of sexual slavery, commercial sexual exploitation and force to conduct work as slavery for the trafficker or others. Human trafficking is a big business and gross over $32 billion dollar annual year. The U.N., stated, “About 2.5 million peoples around the world are ensnared in human trafficking. Mr. Romanov, motive was greed of money, but Mr. Romanov also has a sexual problem which was raping his victim. The most important evidence from the victim Ms. Nadia Pantovich case was Mr. Romanov DNA of his blood, fingerprint, and semen that he left at the crime scene. Witness’s statement was important in a way because of the time that the incident occurs and the description of the suspect at the time of the incident. The witness’s was very detail in their statement when they advised the time of the loud screaming and the time they heard the fighting. Both the investigators and the Crime Scene Investigator Ms. Amy Hepburn handle the case professionally and did a great job of conducting the interview with the witnesses and suspect. When the investigators first learn about Mr. Gary Lee Daniels and his suspicious behavior around Ms. Pantovich, they immediately rule him a suspect and asked him his location for the time of the incident and for DNA sample.
