Mount Everest: The Highest Mountain On Earth

Mount Everest is the highest mountain on Earth, reaching 8848 meters above sea level. It is located in the Himalayas, which are located in Nepal. The first to climb Mt Everest were Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, in 1953. Many have climbed it since then, both young and old, however some things have changed since 1953. Mount Everest grows 4 millimeters higher each year due to geologic uplift. Mount Everest was named after George Everest, who was Surveyor General of India as he discovered it in 1841.
Impacts?
Tourists leave their rubbish when leaving the mountain increase in tourists means an increase in catering their needs, leading to further deforestation to produce more lodges. The mountain is ecologically unstable, and more tourists

cause erosion, that further destroy the mountain. Some corpses cannot be removed and have become part of the landscape human feces accumulated in snow due to lack of efficient waste system. Water that is produced due to global warming, is polluted due to wastes on the mountain. Temperature is so frigid that wastes do not biodegrade.

Resolution
Penalties for people who do not bring their rubbish back down the mountain. Climbers are required to pay $4000 deposit and can only be refunded if they bring down the same amount of gear on the way down as they did on the way up. Climbers are checked to have 8 kg of waste when they reach the base camp. Only small groups can climb at the same time to prevent erosion installation of portable toilets and waste treatment facilities. Corpses are recovered when they can, and removed off the mountain. Volunteers travel up the mountain to collect trash, haul it down the mountain and in some cases the trash is turned into artwork for temporary exhibitions.
Future
According to scientists, global warming is a large issue regarding Mount Everest. If the current patterns keep up, most of the glaciers will melt within the next 50 years, decreasing the amount of fresh water. People may be unable to climb the mountain, and may be banned in the near future. However, if resolutions to these problems do take place, Mount Everest can become cleaner and can last longer for future generations. If waste is reduced, it will prevent the glaciers from melting, providing the world with fresh water. After this, the climbing will be desired to be low impact to nature.
