In the book Mother's good boy Ginger Scott a mother and wife finds her son dead in the family basement. After the police rule the cause of death as suicide Ginger Scott's world crumbles to the ground. Her soft and loving heart turns cold and angry as she fallows a trail she finds from belongings her son left behind. This heartbroken 42 year old woman does what she can to find closure for herself in this terrible situation. Her son 17 year old David Scott leaves enough documentation about his young life for his mother to better understand his secretive teenage life. Only with the help of her passed son can Ginger Scott understand why a young man would take his life and leave his family and friends behind. The second piece of evidence she gave me was pictures she took of places she went, people she met and of herself. She looked different than to other pictures I had seen before her son had died. The physical effect of losing her son was present after only six months. 539 As the pictures progressed it was difficult not to notice how her facial features had changed her skin had lost some of its pigmentation. The hair she had turned gray and looked like dry straw she had no smile on her pictures she was always unhappy. The pictures helped me understand how this situation had effected her in a way that was not seen in the journals. The features of Ginger Scott came alive through this and although I did not use the actual features of my friends mother and instead of copying the story I used what I found to create one that could apply to most households in the world. Although observing the private journals and pictures of my friends mother helped me get a big picture of what one person went through and how they dealt with a suicide in the family I decided look at it in a different way.
